Whether that in turn equates to being able to pull off a 7 performances a week West End role is open to debate but I'd certainly be quite happy to pay to watch her perform in roles which suited her.”

She's shown through Strictly the ability to learn and grow as a performer, being a good theatre actress is also a skill and craft you can learn although granted you have to have some natural ability too, whether anything comes of Craig's comment or not I thought it was lovely of him to say and I'm sure meant a lot to Georgia and also Giovanni as her teacher throughout the show.

I think its irrelevent whether she actually makes it to the west end or not. Craigs point was just to illustrate just how highly he rated her.

Shes been acting since she was a child - did a few years on another show before Coronation Street. She didn't play the most exciting character in that soap and I doubt anyone can judge properly on her talent based on that one show.

From SCD she has shown thats shes both driven and hardworking, that she can dance and perform - and has a talent in emotive storytelling across a range of styles. I'm sure she'll do fine, whatever she ends up doing.

To answer an earlier point, it is quite possible to be both driven and ambitious as well as being emotional. In fact, if you are driven and something means a lot to you, you tend to be more invested in it and as a result can be more emotional about it. Personally I think being hardworking and driven is no negative thing. Neither is being emotionally expressive if that is your nature. And there is no big conflict between the two.

Oh and she tweeted a clip of her singing Writings on the Wall with Giovanni and she didn't do a bad job

Nice enough kid but since when did Craig become Andrew Lloyd Webber.? Contacts undoubtedly he's got but he made it sound like he was a producer not the pantomime Dame he is 😁

It's almost as if he was an experienced director and choreographer

Didn't he play one of the Ugly Sisters in pantomime, with Ann Widdicombe playing the other sister ?

He has directed many well-received performances. Andrew Lloyd Webber did not start out as a producer. In fact, many people would blame his over-involvement in recent productions as the reason they didn't do as well as they could/should have.

Exactly. As I've already said, Georgia could play Sister Mary Robert in Craig's upcoming Sister Act (as long as she has the voice).

I often feel there are two types of WE performers. The typical casting who probably does need to be a triple threat. Then the "celebrity performer" where some lack of skill, or slightly more mediocre ability, can be sacrificed for bums on seats.

It isn't fair on Georgia to judge her acting abilities on her stint in Corrie. As I have mentioned before, I didn't see it, but it is a soap opera and, therefore, unlikely to bring out the best in any of its performers. The words 'mass-produced' could have been coined for soaps. If you like them, that is fine by me, but don't look for the last word in quality there, because you will rarely find it.

I think she showed her acting chops much more in Strictly, where she was centre-stage and allowed to emote properly. Her performances in her show dance and the Charleston could hardly have been more different, yet she nailed both. They demonstrated her acting abilities every bit as much as her dancing skills. She started off the competition with little indication of what was to come, but really blossomed under Giovanni's tutelage. Credit must be given to him here for identifying her potential and bringing it out so effectively. She showed such a willingness to learn and a determination to improve that, assuming Craig makes good on his offer, I can see her taking the West End in her stride.

Can she sing? I don't know, but most people can. An awful lot don't know how to do it properly, however, but that is just a matter of training. The only people who physically can't sing are those who are tone deaf. I am sure she isn't that because she managed to relate to the music so well while dancing. Has she a good voice? Again, I don't know, but her speaking voice is pleasant enough, so why shouldn't her singing voice be all right? She has the lung capacity to cope with that VERY energetic Charleston, and still be able to speak afterwards, so I can see no physical reason to write off her chances.

Sister Mary Robert is all about the singing. At the moment I have no idea if Georgia can sing or not. I'd like to think that would apply to any role in musical theatre but sadly previous stunt casting suggests otherwise.

I think Georgia will do very well off the back of the show, whether she ends up on stage or screen. She has worked hard, shown fantastic presence and talent in her performances - telling a story rather than just going through the motions of the steps. She very quickly became one of my favourites.

Very much the case and, as has happened over the years, the West End glitterati have become less inclined to the later. However, having said that, I wouldn't write Georgia off at all as she's quite a capable performer and may have a reasonable singing voice which can be developed.
