Agreed! I voted for him because I thought he was the most consistent over the series. He had never been in a dance off, so it shows he was well liked and performed strongly throughout.

Kellie was good last night, but had some poor weeks and was in the dance off twice, so didn't really deserve it in my opinion.

Soooo happy for Jay and Aliona -they have been the stars of SCD 2015.
They won despite the best efforts of the tabloids and the judges last night.
Jay never once used tears, looked for sympathy ( he could easily have) or complained.
He took all the judges criticism on the chin - even Craigs harsh personal remarks -
He didn't bare his chest or go down the overtly sexy route and stayed true to himself.

I have enjoyed Jays performances every week and am delighted he has won, well deserved imo.

I was a bit worried after their show dance though, it didn't wow me and with not re dancing their fantastic jive I thought that the chance of winning had slipped through his fingers.

I was never a big avid Strictly watcher. Tuned in because I knew of Jay from The Wanted and was nothing else was on to watch and found myself mesmerised by his wonderful dancing and their beautiful partnership. Aliona was the perfect dance partner for Jay, exactly what he needed through this experience, and I admire them both for sticking to what was right and true for them till the end. Watching them both lift that glitterball with tears in their eyes had me welling up as well. Perfect ending to a great series

Totally agree with you. As there was no Anita in the final, I wanted him to win. On top of all of the above, for me him not mentioning about the Grandfather's funeral has really pushed him up in my estimation of what a great guy he is. True sportsman. Well deserved winner.

Adding my congratulations. It was refreshing to see such a low key celeb on SCD staying true to himself, with Alionas support and excellent teaching.
They have produced several of my Favorite ever SCD routines and I'm so grateful that I have these to revisit on you tube.

Well done also to the girls who danced/performed their socks off last night.

Have watched Strictly since series 1 and never been more invested in a couple to win.

Loved watching the routines, the corrections, the giggles, the tongue in cheek remarks, the sensitivity etc, but mostly loved watching a couple dancing sublimely, being true to themselves.

It's simple really : best dancer and most-loved partnership got our votes❤️
