moderation is reactive so basically if people moan about something, then it will usually be acted upon, so its essentially skewed because the forum 'favourites' and the clique mentality that can sometimes exist will weight the reporting. hilarious the number of times i saw people who were prepared to accuse peter andre of 'pimping out' his children getting all uptight about the sanctity of aliona's marriage.
thing i find odd is the rather po-faced comments on those closed threads, usually they just shut a thread, or sometimes say its 'unconstructive'. this looked like an offended jay fan to me

Anyone with a pair of eyes can see the obvious chemistry between Jay and Aliona. Likewise anyone with a pair of eyes can see that Giovanni is besotted with Georgia.
Why aren't we allowed to discuss it? It's human nature to do so. |

The love tangle story says that Jay and Giovanni have both fallen in love with Georgia and its causing rows between Georgia and her boyfriend.
That's basically it. It's in The Sun, and it's on their website. Therefore I don't seee why we can't discuss it on here. |

I don't see what it matters if people discuss Aliona and Jay and her husband, I mean if he cares what is written here, he has bigger problems with the papers picking up on it. |

Can I get an answer from the mods or anybody in the know.
Why is it you cannot have a thread here about romances in SCD and the curse etc, but elsewhere in the forum, such as the showbiz section, you have pretty much only speculation, including about celebs sexuality, who they have had affairs with and everything. Seems a strange double standard from the forum. The question really should be why do you think there should be such threads in the first place? Do you get some kind of thrill from gossiping about, for example, a happily married pro and her boyband celeb partner just because the tabloids have decided to do so?

That tabloid story is basically 'lots of people think Georgia's hot'
Which she is.Genuine question- does somebody actually get paid to sit at a newsdesk and make up these 'source' quotes? None of them ever read like something anyone would ever say! |

Because people on here generally don't feel the need to stoop to the level of such crass gossip and so report the threads.

I think some people on these forums must have an RSI in their fingers from all the alerting they do. Seriously, I only ever reprort people who are racist, homophobic or abusive to other posters.
Anyone who alerted the other thread, or who does the same with this one, needs to get a life quite frankly. |

One thing I've noticed about this forum, more than any on DS is there is a hierarchy who dislike anything different or unusual, any kind of change and can't seem to get it into their heads that Strictly is an entertainment show not a real dance competition. People vote for who they like to and warm to the most, not the best dancer. I want to be entertained on a Saturday night and couldn't give a shit about heal leads, or lack of salsa content etc.
It's lauaghable how some of the pros are lauded and you can't say anything bad about them and yet others are ripped apart for the most minor things. There is an active thread on here with countless posters trying to justify Anton the Burks use of the "P" word. It's hilarious, can you imagine if a Clifton had said it? But because Anton said it, it's ok. What horsehit. |

I don't think Jay is interested in Georgia in that way. When asked about the other finalists, he said Georgia is the sweetest girl he knows or something like that.

Wow, I totally missed that! (Though in general I give the Scum the widest berth possible).
I'm not at all convinced, however. |

No, no thrill. I was about to reply to someone yesterday when the thread was locked and didn't understand why it is allowed on the forums, but then not the SCD.

It's not rocket science - I've posted on this forum for 6 years so I've been around long enough to see the kinds of threads that get reported and that posters get reprimanded by other posters for starting. I know how the Strictly forum works. If people were happy to read that kind of rubbish then the threads wouldn't be pulled - the mods usually only step in when there have been multiple alerts or complaining posts.
