Virtually everyone on the show from the light entertainment world has grown up in stage schools... they *all* have dance training.

What you're asking is "Only news readers and retired politicians, please!"

Don't worry. Next year it will be won by a retiring Olympian.

There some implication that ex boybanders have millions of teens voting for them. My DD at 14 was the biggest Wanted fan. She's now at Uni and has a million times more interesting things to do (and spend her money on) than watch and vote on a reality TV dancing contest. I'm sure she's not the only one.

IMO at the start of the series it should be made public by the show exactly how much training each celeb has had including Private tuition and they get caught lying they get kicked out.

Strictly No More BoyBanders With Intensive Pre Show Dance Training - Its A Yawnfest ?

This is the first time I have fallen asleep during a Strictly Come Dancing Final ever, the producers really have to address this issue as a matter of urgency.

With all the teeny tiny boybander fans voting hundreds of times each no one else had a chance, and it really is a yawn fest knowing who the winner is going to be before the halfway stage due to the intensive pre show dance training.

Should we bring back the level playing field ?

Should we introduce a handicapping system for the Celebs with an unfair advantage ?
is this the LEAST surprising thread of the whole series?

Maybe Anton should get next year's boyband member he may actually win the competition Terry.

Can we also please ban all those who have had stage school training
The show would probably run for for 2 weeks if we did that for lack of competitors that meet the criteria

Nicky Byrne and Simon Webbe called - they want to know where it went wrong for them as it's so easy.
They didn't get Aliona?

Who cares? Seriously, even if they recruited 15 people who have never danced in their lives there would still be some who start with an advantage: a 25 year old woman/man in great physical condition is more likely to become an adapt dancer than a 50 year old woman/man with the extra years of wear and tear on their bodies.

Unless they also limit it to people of a certain age and body shape only of course. Granted that would completely kill the appeal of the show stone dead but if it stops people wah-wah-wahhhhhing over their favourite not winning because others have an alledged advantage then I'm all for it.

Terry is upset because he predicted that Jay fans were in for a big disappointment last night.

The show needs MORE talented male competitors, not fewer. Part of the problem with Jay is that he was the obvious stand-out male contestant, with his nearest competition for the hunk vote being a guy with one working arm and a 42 year old going out every Saturday and doing the Rhythm Nation dance because he was devoting 4 hours a week to training. What's notable about all the recent walkover male winners (Harry, Louis, Jay) is that they had no real young male competition whatsoever. In this series, by the time all the female-favouring voters had worked out which of Anita, Helen, Georgia, Kellie and Katie they liked the best, it was over - the Jay Bandwagon had built up enough steam over three months to roll over them all.

If you'd given Jay a Matt Di Angelo, or a Ricky Whittle or even a Housewives Favourite Matt Baker to tussle against (none of them boy-banders or even eventual winners), and created a bit of a question as to which man was better, you might have had a more all-round exciting fight. And even if not, and the testosterone vote overwhelmed the women, we've just had four series in a row where the ladies outperformed the men on average, in two cases substantially so. Having the reverse for once wouldn't be so bad.

Has there ever been a series where the men outperformed the women?

So if that's the case, why are you singling out boy bands? If you want a level playing field, you've done your post not a lot of justice

Series 3 definitely - of the 12 strong cast, the first four boots were all women, and Patsy and Zoe both stumbled into the end stages through multiple Bottom 2s.

I doubt there are many hardcore The Wanted fans out there. They only had about 3 songs, they're not exactly 1D.

Probably Mark Ramprakash's year or Darren Gough's. They both had pretty good female celebs who got voted off at the last hurdle.

Maybe Series 8 as well, which had Jimi Mistry, Scott Maslen and even Gavin Henson, as well as Matt Baker. Obviously, Kara was brilliant, but overall it could be argued that the men outperformed the women.

It's actually VERY surprising considering that Terry's twitter page used to have a picture of The Wanted as wallpaper...
