so who do you suggest then?

as show full of Iwan Thomas', Anne Widdecombes and Lisa Rileys?

no thanks!

I like the vast array of celebs they get on the show and would HATE to see a show full of Iwans or Annes

YAWNFEST (to steal Terrys word)

It was painful to see Katie and Anton go before their time Walter, but the Jay forgone boybander conclusion was literally a snooze fest for me.

... such a snoozefest that you are still going on about it 48 hours later. Careful, the mask is slipping

Oh Terry, Your sour grapes are showing, and it was not a forgone conclusion, as you predicted that us Jay fans were in for a big disappointment.

I liked all of the dances Jay did, no stage school faces being pulled.”

I have a very low tolerance for "stage school faces" and I couldn't stand Kellie, but such faces are not the only alternative to Jay's lack of expression.

This is the first time I have fallen asleep during a Strictly Come Dancing Final ever, the producers really have to address this issue as a matter of urgency.

With all the teeny tiny boybander fans voting hundreds of times each no one else had a chance, and it really is a yawn fest knowing who the winner is going to be before the halfway stage due to the intensive pre show dance training.

Should we bring back the level playing field ?

Should we introduce a handicapping system for the Celebs with an unfair advantage ?”

We'll arrange for you to be put into a medically induced coma in September 2016 so that we can have an array of whichever male celebs actually make themselves free to dance in a series. You may have been asleep already in the 2015 opening show - there was no male celeb for Joanne Clifton to make the 16th couple as planned.

What's notable about all the recent walkover male winners (Harry, Louis, Jay) is that they had no real young male competition whatsoever. In this series, by the time all the female-favouring voters had worked out which of Anita, Helen, Georgia, Kellie and Katie they liked the best, it was over - the Jay Bandwagon had built up enough steam over three months to roll over them all.

If you'd given Jay a Matt Di Angelo, or a Ricky Whittle or even a Housewives Favourite Matt Baker to tussle against (none of them boy-banders or even eventual winners), and created a bit of a question as to which man was better, you might have had a more all-round exciting fight. And even if not, and the testosterone vote overwhelmed the women, we've just had four series in a row where the ladies outperformed the men on average, in two cases substantially so. Having the reverse for once wouldn't be so bad.”

Agreed. Well said. Contestants just have to be young(ish) and fit. Who they are almost ceases to matter once we are halfway into a Strictly series.

The Irish crooner was dire this series, and I would not watch a show if full of contestants of the likes of Russell Grant, Craig Kelly, Paul Daniel, Chris Parker etc to watch their journeys, any more than a show full of Allison Hammonds, Judy Murrays or Carol Vordermans. All those personalities are wonderful in their career slots but few make a successful jump to the training room, let alone the dance floor.

Having said that, I have to make exception for two wonderful jumpers this series - Ainsley Harriott and showjumper Jeremy Vine.

The likes of Jeremy Vine, Russell Grant, Ann Widdecombe and Lisa are the backbone of Strictlys entertainment factor, without them left to the boybanders and Olympic limbo vaulters it would be a snooze fest all the way through the series.

Average scores going into the final:
Jay: 33.7
Georgia: 33.4
Kellie: 30.2

(And just because I wish she'd been there)
Helen: 33.6

I know a lot of people well past the "teeny tiny" phase of their lives -and who don't their boybands from their elbow- who voted for him simply because they thought he was the best dancer.

Incidentally- given the "foregone conclusions" of the past, I think it would be better to start with banning male sportsmen before denying the likes of Nicky Byrne and Simon Webbe a shot at the Glitterball; they're outdoing boybanders by 3:2

Oh- and many people at the start of the series thought Peter Andre was the foregone conclusion to be in the final. I guess it's only with hindsight that we see what the foregone conclusions really were...

I beg to differ. To quote a friend of mine, "I don't watch until about week 6- I can't be doing with the cringe-making comedy contestants".

i would rather watch most of your list before Ainsley and Jeremy, so really it doesn't matter. They have to fill a certain number of slots. There will never be a unanimous winner or 'loser.' I loved Carol this year and wish she'd stayed longer than both Messrs Vine and Harriott. It's all about connection with the audience. Jeremy was more popular than Carol. Carol was more popular than Ainsley. Jay was more popular than Kellie. That's why they have to have a variety of contestants each series. I do wish they could have a full series where all the contestants have no training (to avoid any accusations ) whatsoever but as the years go on it's going to be less likely.

I would give up if I were you Terry, the only snooze fest is you constantly repeating yourself.

Have some dignity and retire from the fray until next year, before you make an even bigger fool of yourself.

I'm not fussed on Jay winning to be honest, but my main bugbear was how Darcy would score him really high for every dance and was looking like she was eyeing him up more than critiquing his dances, she's suppose to be a professional judge not a teenage girl.

But a lot of acts get advantages TerryM22, there's nothing you or anyone can really do about it.

For people who don't like dance maybe! I heard this outrageous idea that some people might actually enjoy watching good dancing as entertainment. Who'd have thought it, dancing as a form of entertainment :

You cannot reason with someone who would like to see George Michael on the judging panel.

Overlooking the small fact that he has had no dancing experience whatsoever, well apart from boogying on his pop videos in the 1980's.
