K & K lacked charisma. They did not have chemistry or artistry - for ME! I loved G & G - everything about them as dancers had ME hooked. J & A had it all. That's why they won. That's why people voted for them and not because of any vote rigging attempt by the Judges... It was a poor final. The judges spoiled it. The public chose their favourite. End of. Now move on.

Kellie and Kevin were the best dancers on the night but the public decided that they preferred Jay and Aliona over all. It's their vote that matters so no, she wasn't robbed, It demonstrates that with a runaway popular contestant in a popularity show no matter how well you dance you will never win.

That's light entertainment baby

It is not a Dancing Competition I have been told and I am afraid Kellie suffered from not being as popular as some of the others. IMo her and her partner rubbed people up the wrong way with her screaming and the in your face attitude of them both.

Just re watched Jay's Final Paso and I seriously want to unappreciate that he didn't get 40.

Georgia's charleston was fab, but she went obviously out of time in the final turns, and IMO Jay's Paso was the dance of the night - his obvious joy during the dance, he put his heart and soul into it, you could (finally) see him 'living' the dance, fist in the air grinning in the final floor spin, punching his chest as he knelt for the final pose.....

That was a Strictly Final dance.

(No dispute for Georgia's 40 as she was utterly electrifying, but if she got 40, Jay more than deserved it).

Compared to that dance all of Kellie's tonight were stage school hammy, lumpen, technically lacking, cold. Over marked all night - she was in the wrong hold all way through the Tango ffs! Len picks up on technique, but not that?

Jaywozrobbed!!!!!!!! of a 40
It really was. I thought that dance stood out as the best of the night...a 40 for sure (as was his jive in week 3).

I did enjoy Kellie's dances, but they're not ones I'd want to watch again...some of her showdance was downright ugly, but maybe that's just me. And there's only so much frantic gurning that I can take.

I wanted Jay to win and would have been ok with Georgia winning.

I don't think Kellie was robbed because although her dances were good last night, they weren't better than the other couples'. The problem with Kellie was that I found her irritating and couldn't get interested in her at all.

So, with the absence of Kellie, Jay would have been competing on a completely level playing field against the likes of Carol, Jeremy, Iwan, Anthony, Daniel & Anita?
I didn't say that. How can BBC justify having a professional dance teacher on the show? And if it was about journeys, Anita really did have a journey. I'd be happy to watch and accept a show that gave its competition a proper name. E.g SCD professionals.

Its a good job we live in a democracy and not North Korea. I don't think Kellie despite her experience was exciting in the least. I couldn't stand watching her.

I wanted G&G to win...I just thought they were more on a 'journey' than the others.

K&K left me cold - I didn't think that tango deserved a 40, and to do two similar dances in the Lindy hop and Charleston didn't really show off - to me - all that she was supposed to have learned over the whole series. I would have preferred her to do a slower dance, to see if yes she could do it. Not her AS though..That could have been too obvious.

As for Jay and Aliona - I really, really feel the judges were being extra picky and hard on them last night. How many showdances have we seen similar to that one where they raved about them..Then they rip that one to shreds. If it was all lifts etc it would be ripped to shreds too...He also let nerves get the better of him last night I feel.

So was Kellie robbed? No, she just wasn't popular with the audience at home, end of story.

I agree with all of the above imo the Judges were trying to make the show more interesting last night when they were well aware what outcome wold be with Jay winning. As a fan of G&G and Jay I was happy with the result.

I'm happy - the person who got the most votes won and that's the whole point of the final.

Comparing Kelly and Georgia's Charlestons - there was no comparison. Georgia's was full on energetic with lots of content. Kell'y's was pedestrian.

The Lindyhop is fairly free in interpretation so throwing yourself about with no technique looks great and energetic, but really anyone can do it.

Georgia's grace in the ballroom dances is exquisite, and she was brave doing part of her showdance blindfolded.

Jay's passo was fabulous.

All different - the people's choice won as it should be.

Kellie is a great dancer but Jay won fairly. I voted for him and I'm glad he won strictly.

I don't think Kellie was overmarked, she deserved those scores and was the best on the night. I love Jay and he's been my favourite the whole way though but he had a disappointing final and I would have ended up happy if Kellie had won.

Simply put: Kellie was robbed.

I've suuported Kellie from the beginning and after being in the dance-off I'd sort of accepted that she wasn't going to win - I'd be happy as long as she made the final. However, tonight she outshone the competition and delivered three incredible show-stopping routines. As many times before, Jay was disappointing. Yet he won.

Kellie was so amazing tonight and she was robbed.

what rubbish - she only got fantastic marks from the judges as they overmarked her to try & convince the public to vote for her. I found her show dance very samey |&boring. Georgia was much better than her but am so pleased Jay won - the most consistent dancer ov er the series

I didn't rate Kellie nearly as highly as Georgia, whose Charleston was a joy, and she was often irritating (as was Kevin) forever pulling faces and yelling. The judges seemed to have had too much strong coffee and anger pills last night although I have to say it was one of the less good finals, but Kellie was hugely overmarked and I did not like that Lindyhop / first of two Charlestons, one bit. I'd have been happy with Georgia or Jay and I don't think Kellie was robbed at all.

I am afraid the vote reflects the audience rather than how well t he dancers danced.
Its been like this every year !
I think Jay attracted a more younger voter due to him being in a band.
Having said that Kelly and Kevin were robbed

Thanks for that - it's a real boost

I do think Kellie danced well in the final. I don't think she was robbed of the title.

I personally can't connect with the overly themed, kitchen sink approach she and Kevin have taken throughout, so although I've grown to like Kellie more as a person over the course of the series and I admire her work ethic, her dancing has never touched my heart. Craig, on the other hand loved it. S'okay - he and I just have different taste .

Georgia and Giovanni probably 'won the night' in my eyes, because they showed a wider set of skills and we saw her improvement clearly, plus they danced expressively in their showdance. Their performances showed range, and light and shade, so hats off to them.

Jay and Aliona have given me the most joy over the last three months. Jay's dancing strikes a chord with me on an emotional level and his partnership and connection with Aliona has real depth.

I've found him mesmerising, frustrating, heart breaking, triumphant, tender, exuberant, elegant, gentle, funny, engaging and captivating.

As far as his performance in the final goes, I thought his quickstep better than the judges gave credit for (and it was something of a 'nemesis' routine for him ); I loved his showdance, because it expressed his quiet integrity, but can completely see why less 'invested' folk might feel underwhelmed. That's fine. I thought his paso was magnificent, and if I'm annoyed about any aspect of judgely fudginess last night, it's that Craig couldn't bring himself to award Jay a ten. What was missing for him? I don't think he said....

Strictly is a marathon, not a sprint, and Jay was the worthy winner for what he gave us over months, and not just last night. Well done, Jay and Aliona.

Based purely on the final: Yes.

Based over the whole series: No, not at all.

Hear, hear - well said! Kellie "acted" her way through the whole series, coming across as loud-mouthed and obnoxious, imo. Thought she had it in the bag. Didn't like her "style" at all, and she made even the most gorgeous outfit look awful, given her lack of shape and style.

To OP - By whom? More people gave more of their votes to J&A and I doubt they had their arms twisted up their backs

To fridgesoup - What you said above imo

To anyone who will listen - The BIB in particular

How was she robbed? The public was asked to vote for their winner and Jay and Aliona got the most votes to win..... all legal and all.

This is the point, nobody is "robbed", people vote for who they want for whatever reason, but just because you personally do not agree does not mean they were robbed. Personally I though Georgia would be the winner (and no I am not a "fan").

I have sky+ the final but haven't watched it yet, having read on here I don't know that I will bother.
Imo it was rather a foregone conclusion as to who the winner would be, Some females will always vote for a good looking boy band guy and some males will vote for Aliona. Jay was a good enough dancer but he would never get my vote. I liked Kellie and Kevin but I doubt Kevin will ever be allowed to win , which imho is a shame as he seem such a normal hard working guy to me. Hope Aliona gets the bloke with the pot belly and bad breath next year..

I think it is Kevin who is due for duffer next year - he has been in the last 3 finals with a good celeb - perhaps that should tell him something - the public don't like him. Who would have thought Jay would improve so much after his first shakey nervous cha cha
