Thanks for that - it's a real boost
I do think Kellie danced well in the final. I don't think she was robbed of the title.
I personally can't connect with the overly themed, kitchen sink approach she and Kevin have taken throughout, so although I've grown to like Kellie more as a person over the course of the series and I admire her work ethic, her dancing has never touched my heart. Craig, on the other hand loved it. S'okay - he and I just have different taste

.
Georgia and Giovanni probably 'won the night' in my eyes, because they showed a wider set of skills and we saw her improvement clearly, plus they danced expressively in their showdance. Their performances showed range, and light and shade, so hats off to them.
Jay and Aliona have given me the most joy over the last three months. Jay's dancing strikes a chord with me on an emotional level and his partnership and connection with Aliona has real depth.
I've found him mesmerising, frustrating, heart breaking, triumphant, tender, exuberant, elegant, gentle, funny, engaging and captivating.
As far as his performance in the final goes, I thought his quickstep better than the judges gave credit for (and it was something of a 'nemesis' routine for him

); I loved his showdance, because it expressed his quiet integrity, but can completely see why less 'invested' folk might feel underwhelmed. That's fine. I thought his paso was magnificent, and if I'm annoyed about any aspect of judgely fudginess last night, it's that Craig couldn't bring himself to award Jay a ten. What was missing for him? I don't think he said....
Strictly is a marathon, not a sprint, and Jay was the worthy winner for what he gave us over months, and not just last night. Well done, Jay and Aliona.
