well done Katie
Show dance great. Undermarked first dance. Also those who didn't want her in final, it wouldn't have mattered. Boy and always win

I echo those sentiments.
Katie deserves praise for getting far further than expected/predicted. Towards the end of the run, the judges seemed to turn on her by treating her unnecessarily harshly. Yes, she was not the best dancer, but she was not nearly as bad as made out. Her showdance was particularly good and even put Jay's in the shade - though he danced better. You did yourself proud Katie, you did Anton proud by getting him to a final and I'm sure you did your family proud. You left with your head held high...well done! |

Anyway, she just behaved like a perfect lady. So graceful in her ways. When she was eliminated she was just so gracious. It wasn't her fault she was there (and it was the right dance off result last weekend!!). She is exactly what Strictly is about. She should hold her head up high (and she will because her legs are so gorgeous and long). |

Thought she pretty average last night with a lot of mistakes. Just confirms to me Anita was robbed in the semi's, imagine what her and Gleb's showdance would have been like!

Indeed. Her showdance wasn't technically the best, in fact it had many errors, but it is the one I would want to watch again. Showdances are meant to have wow factor or be exciting, and none of them had it except Katie.
Well done to Katie. |

I would love to have seen Anita and Glebs showdance. Except Katie, all showdances were a bit meh. It was highly likely Anita and Gleb would have took a risk and produced something exciting. Not taking anything away from Katie at all. |

Lovely lady Katie, did well getting to the final, so she should hold her head high.

It's not her fault she was in the final, but I don't think she was good enough to be there. It should have been Anita and Gleb.

If being in the final is based on how good a dancer someone is then Helen would have made it to the final four.
I have loved Katie and Anton's partnership this year and I have been willing them on since the show started hoping against hope that she would perfect her technique and make fewer errors - easy to say extremely hard to do. Their QS exposed the technical gap between Katie and the other celeb dancers in quite a stark manner and Craig's emphasis on how lacking in skill she was compared to the others was mean spirited in a fluffy Strictly final. It was something she was fully aware of and she even acknowledged as much in her response to his comments. For all its mistakes their showdance was still my second favourite of the night. Thank you Katie and Anton. You added an extra dimension of class to this year's Strictly. |

I would say I've never seen such sour grapes as in the rubbishing of Katie by Anita-fans, but of couse there was Pixie... |

I thought Katie was a class act throughout the whole series, a real lady, shame about Anton.

Whether Anita or Katie deserved to be in the final (and no amount of debating will change what happened - I'm a fan of both so not biased), I don't either would've won so not sure it'd make a huge difference.
Think both Anita and Katie have done themselves proud though - thrown themselves (sometimes literally) gung-ho into Strictly with total enthusiasm and joy. Both really are what Strictly is all about. Katie too has come across as a genuine, lovely, graceful lady - a class act. And as a bonus she's a bit of a MILF. And I mean that in the nicest way possible

'Amazing' how people see different things - to me she came across as self-satisfied and rather arrogant - and definitely should not have been in the final.
Kellie was by the end the best dancer producing the best performances, but didn't win because the show is a popularity contest which involves dancing. I thought Katie came across very well and can never understand how strong opinions on what people are like can be formed on the evidence of what is seen during a tv show. Times we live in I suppose, with guff like big brother and I was a celebrity. There always has to be a villain, like there always is in the printed media. |

It's a pity that Anita doesn't have a better class of supporter. If anyone should have been in the final it was Helen.
Katie deserved to be in the final and at least her show dance was one of the more memorable ones (we had already seen Anita's in the semi). |

Katie has been a "class" act throughout the series and was my favourite along with Anita. It felt like Sophie's Choice last week for me.
I can understand why the judges put her through over Anita because her Waltz was recognisable as a Waltz whereas Anita's Salsa was a great routine with loadsa content but, wasn't a Salsa. It was a shame but, that's the way it went.I just hope that next year if one of the weaker dancers make the final the judges aren't as mean as they were to Katie. The SCD final is all about celebrating the hard work of the couples and for the most part the winner is immaterial. I want to be entertained and to congratulate those who are there and I expect the judges to be the same. SCD doesn't need cheap shots being thrown at the finalists, they should leave that to TXF. SCD is all about glitter, fun and pantomime villans. It doesn't need mean spirited, spiteful comments from the judges in the final and I hope we don't see it again next year. Well done Katie, I've enjoyed watching you and thought you were a worthy finalist.

Applause! Absolutely this. The judges should be celebrating and congratulating those who reach the final, not making people feel like they don't belong there; doubly so when the difference is not how hard you've worked or how much talent you have but simply how big a ringer each celebrity might be in terms of past training.
Maybe they should make sure that each contestant (including dance-offs) leave with the memory of a nice last word. |

She did well but lost out the most to the silly way the final is put together.
One dance that was one of her worst in the series, that she would have probably enjoyed less, and been less confident about. A showdance rehearsed in a rush due to the multiple dances required. Then not allowed to dance the one she actually could have done really well on. ![]() It would have made for a better memory of the final for her if she got the chance to shine with perhaps her VW or AS. Then she could always have that moment of showing what she can do, and it would have made for a more entertaining show overall. Getting them to do their worst dance, having that first, then not letting the first out do their own favourite is an illogical way to organize things. |

She was a credit to the show from start to finish and carried herself with charm and good grace. She wasn't a great dancer and didn't pretend otherwise but she give it her all and always seemed positive and in good spirits.
