Not really, you pause it so you do not have to hear or see it , go get a drink then fast forward, simple.

The Daily Mail also thinks that refugees are going to take over the country and every Muslim is a terrorist.

Outrage, my arse.

I'd say that Harry was way more likeable than Jay, but that's just my opinion.

Harry was my favourite as well....but Jay is far more popular out there then Harry was.

But both good dancers and both with Aliona.

All three would have been worthy winners. Jay did enough to deserve it overall but both Georgia and Kellie did more on the night imo.

The only issue with this is, if every time we have a younger Jay/Harry type male the result is going to be the same. Its hard to tell without at least knowing the telephone voting statistics, but I would imagine women are driving the voting on the show. Id love to know how many women voted for the two ladies as opposed to Jay. Obviously Jay had to reach a certain standard and not fall over, but having achieved that the girls probably had little chance.

Alesha v Matt DA?

I'm only one tiny anecdote but of the five women in my "watching the Strictly final" group, I'm the only one who voted for Jay (and up to the QF I'd voted for Helen more than for any other contestant). Two older relatives voted for Katie, two younger friends voted for Kellie (sorry Georgia). I doubt we're a unique sample.

It is a big misconception to think that the great British public know all the details of footwork and can spot the best technical dancer. They certainly haven't the knowledge required to judge the men against the women. They can far more easily compare one man against another or one woman against another. On that basis, Jay is special and Kellie is nothing special, sadly.

There will another female celeb, or two, or three, as good as Kellie, Helen, and Georgia next year. In all likelihood they will be another three actresses who went to stage school or did ballet. We might see one male celeb as good as Jay over the next two seasons but we may have to wait longer. That's why Jay was popular. That's why the public voted for him.

Also last night on these threads Jay supporters were called 'horny housewives' first let me say that I have a daughter the same age as Jay and on being called 'Horny I found derogatory...my own son in law thought he was great.

On the second strictly the first one to dance was Jay and I was really impressed by his Cha Cha. I also loved the fact that he was so nervous. Then when he went on to do the Waltz and what a beautiful dance that turned out to be...and then the third week that jive.

Those dances were amazing and though he had his up's and down's he was in my eye's the best dancer there.

Craig was right last night at the after party when he said Jay captured the hearts and minds of the British people...and that is exactly what he did.

It has nothing to do with being 'horny housewives' it has to do with Jay being a beautiful dancer.

He was the people's choice and that is why he won.
”

DITTO - I was absolutely mesmerised by his dances every single week. IMO there has never been a better male dancer in strictly - even when he made mistakes his dances were just so watchable (and the footwork so intricate yet beautiful).

this 'horny housewife' stuff is ridiculous my two sons are much older than Jay - I never, ever looked at him as a hunk.

Now Aliajz - quite a different story

I cant say I was cheerleading Kellie but I dont agree at all with that. She threw just about everything she had at the show and produced a varied array of colourful interesting productions imo. Both Anita and Peter were ahead of Katie but Kellie deserved her chance imo.

I agree with the young men type comment: Harry, Louis, Jay, etc. And someone asked why Matt DA didn't win then. I suppose he suffered some backlash due to sitting on the stairs after forgetting his routine and was seen as the judges pet after that (or even before). And we know that judges pets don't go down very well with the public.

BIB, Don't forget gay men. Harry's photo shoot for Attitude magazine has a lot to answer for...

No-one can guarantee a result but I just think Strictlys core is overall a female viewpoint.

I dont know Strictly stats to heart but didn't Matt completely duff up a dance in the semi? Viewers got him through but I dont think even fans allegiance stands to allow that to be discarded in choosing a winner.

So the core voting public of strictly are women (which I completely agree) but isn't it chauvinistic to assume that we vote with our ovaries?
That for starters. Also, how do you explain that both Simon Webbe, Nicky from west life, Thom Evans, all much more classically handsome and gorgeous than Jay didn't win?

The other ting about the wanted fanbase, most of it is overseas (USA and Brasil actually seemed to be the most active) so they couldn't vote.

And again, I seem to be repeating myself over several threads but counting every single individual dance they had done in strictly, Jay and Kellie were in equal points. If you add the quickstepathon, Jay gets one more point ahead.
It's not like he is a rubbish dancer and only won because of his previous fanbase.

Simon Webbe still got to the final; Nicky was excruciatingly bad and still came out around 6th/7th/semifinals (I don't remember well, sorry). And Thom while absolutely gorgeous danced horribly bad and didn't have the same kind of of fan base that NIcky/Simon/Harry/Jay had either.
Also, I don't believe that the fans in other countries (especially being young fans) don't know how to vote using a proxy.

Thom looked like an action man he did nothing for me.

And yes, both him and Nicky were not good dancers so while they will have had a core fan base, just like Jay, they weren't good enough to attract many more voters.

Jay started off with fans who would vote for him but with a combination of good dances and a personality that many found endearing he gained more supporters on top of the ones who were with him from the start.

Your comments are spot on. Jay was so natural, he captured my heart and mind, I am 70 years old and think he is a beautiful young man and I hope he goes far in life.
Well done Jay good luck in all you do, your parents must be so proud of you.

She has done loads of side by side stuff and it was hard to see the difference between her Lindy Hop show dance and her Charlston

Kellie is however a great performer and gets away with murder cos she can sell a dance. This is in many ways down to her age and experience a huge advantage she has over both Jay and Georgia.

Jay was my winner cos he was the one I enjoyed watching the most. It's quite simple really”

I didn't even realise it was her show dance. But what do I know I don't even bother watching her. I give up after 10 seconds.

Well my 87 year old Dad has just rung me having a right out rant. He was out last night so has watched the show on catch up. He's never known anything so ridiculous and is not going to bother with SCD next year. He's a sports person through and through. The best man or women on the day should win according to him. I said I told you you weeks ago Jay was going to win. He said I know you did you it's still not right.

If your Dad is a sports person, he will also know that many unfair things happen on the day. And that includes a lot more ridiculous things than a consistent dancer winning a dancing contest.

Then they may as well axe the three month build up.
