When you say she was the overwhelming favourite last year do you mean by the bookies odds or do you mean that she was many people's personal favourite out of the two finalists?

it's a bit of a limited market. I'm a bloke so i could be off base here but i think stockings are worn by women when they are worried about uneven tone on their legs, or if their legs aren't immaculately shaven and want to hide appearance of hair growing out. l I suggest you do some research and then come back and write something sensible |

I don't want to sound like a downer but just because this has launched does not make it a success, most businesses fail in the first year. But I wish her every success.

Well good luck to Bianca, I liked her and wanted her to win, it's a great idea. Most of us women would pay good money for hosiery for a special occasion.

As I remember it, Bianca once went to a business fair for black women, and saw another woman who had already developed a range of tights - and who had spent her own money on producing samples and colours.
If this is true, I wish the other woman at the fair success, not Bianca. |

Wish her all the best in her business. I'd be a little bit worried at the quality for the price since I'm guessing from the apprentice that the cost is to cover the range of stock, and not just the materials used. Also competition wise; I think there's a company called Nubian Skin which is already established, and won some kind of award, which covers the same market?

The quality of Bianca hosiery range looks good quality, I might say as good as Wolfords |

Nubian Skin has a very small collection of tights, it specialises more on lingerie for black women, plus it's US based https://www.nubianskin.com/

You are well off base, but this is the type of post I would expect from men who know NOTHING about black women and their needs
![]() ![]() Reminds of the guy I knew who thought tampax were graded according to the size of the woman's bits-regular, super etc

Or white ones either! Who wears sheer tights to cover up stubble?
![]() ![]() Maybe that's why criminals sometimes wear stockings over their heads - they're too lazy to shave! Man-with-stocking-over-his-head-gettyimages.jpg |

Going back to the original topic, just because Bianca has products and a website does not actually equate to being a success at this stage.
All credit to her for getting things off the ground. The proof of the pudding will be if she actually does become a brand and reach a certain level of market penetration. Most people I have spoken to on the subject still believe that £12 for a pair of tights is a lot of cash - but there is clearly a market for them. But a premium range like this is never going to reach a mass market. Let's judge her in a couple of years - rather than assuming because she has a website that she is already there. |

I'm a betting man and I'd put everything on this business failing. It's a terrible idea and cannot succeed in the marketplace. The good lord made the right decision in not investing in this, and he will be proven 100% right.
