Rate The Series
With Strictly now done for 2015, how would you rank this year on a scale of 1-10? (1 being WORSTEVER, 10 being the best series of all time).
Reasons more than welcome. Use whatever criteria you want - anything from pros to Dave Arch's orchestra |

I put down a 9.
For me a vintage series and the most I've enjoyed the show since 2008. -Tess & Claudia have really settled in as hosts and both seem to clearly get on. I know Tess divides opinion on here and is never likely to be best host ever but she keeps it going along well and rarely makes an error - you only had to turn onto ITV to see what a pro Tess is by comparison. -Despite reservations at the start about the line-up, it's been a brilliant mix of celebs - got something for everyone. They all seem to have got on well too. -The singers and band were as reliable as ever. While they can sometimes be ropey, they do brilliantly having to cover the mix of songs they do and any bad performances are only noticable since the others are normally so good. -The new pros have all made an impact and settled in well. -Several memorable routines - Jay's Jive and Charleston, Anita and Gleb's Paso and Tango, Katie's tango, G&G's Charleston, K&K's 'Boom Shake The Room' Samba, 'Star Wars Charleston' and most of Jeremy's dances. -Jamelia dance-off slayer. -FIXgate gave us some brilliant reactions and was hilarious in hindsight (though JameliawozRobbed). -That said, the judges have annoyed me a tad this series. I get the feeling with Len now that I did Bruce a few years ago - he's uncomfortable to watch at this stage and feels like he's not far from flipping at someone. |

A 10 from me!!
A great mix of celebs with no real 'donkeys' this year!! Great pros & the three new ones have fitted in realy well! By & large the contestants have gone in roughly the right order leaving us with the best 3 dancers in the final!! The judges have been largely fair, helpful & constructive without the 'panto baddie' that we have had some years! Tess has done a good job & getting used to Claudia (as much as I ever will now I think!!) Finally my favourite ever contestant with little Georgia!! I've just loved watching her throughout the whole series & her journey from also ran to the best dancer of the series in my book!! Also Jay has been one of the best male celebs ever!! A cracking series & will take some beating tor me!! |

7 from me, although the last 2 weeks were great.
The balance between ringers and beginners was wrong. Too many celebs with previous dance experience and not enough celebs like Anita, Carol and Katie. The producers are still micro managing the show with some dreadful music choices, props, themes and costumes. Inconsistent marking from the judges, especially when it comes to the technical content expected for each dance. ITT was excellent this year, best for a while. It did take a while though to get the hour long Friday show right. Loved the final, although it did feel flat after the winner was announced. I'd like to the show get back to basics. |

Of the other judges, Bruno also overdid things once or twice, but hopefully he'll tone things down a bit in future. |

I thought it was a largely enjoyable series. I do think it was sometimes marred by very inconsistent judges scoring which gave the impression of a bit of favouritism (whether real or imagined), but this isn't anything particularly new.

I've enjoyed the series , I marked it 8/10 .
It would have been higher but the absolutely awful music choices spoil it for me and some of the singing is at times excruciating . |

I gave it 10. Not been so engrossed in a series for SCD, and SCD really is the format that comes closest to perfection. And this year, everything just came together.

8 for me. It was top tier until the last 3 weeks, where it went off a cliff. I can't see any series being a 10 until they get rid of Judges Choice at the very least.

I gave it an 8.
Overall a good series, but not quite a brilliant one. Judges have been all over the place and getting a bit too personal at times - and seeming to think that they are more important than the celebs which they aren't. A bit too much spin at various points in the series too for my liking - Jamelia/Fix-gate didn't feel like Strictly at all. Good mix of celebs though, and all the partnerships seemed to work well. Liked all the 3 new Pros (what little we saw of Oti). The final was actually a bit flat for me - I was hoping for/expecting some real Wow dances but they didn't really emerge. |

Just a three from me, I only watched the dancing and didn't even bother watching the final... it was such a foregone conclusion as to who was going to win. Imho the whole show is in need of a shake up, from the squabbling judges to the make shift presenters.

![]() Least favourite since 2009 (Hollins, Ricky, Ali year). What was missing for me was any real progress, especially in the winner, who, as the judges pointed out, had been consistently good from the start. In fact, I'd say he ended on a lower note than he began. Also missing for me was any element of surprise. Apart from Anita really, we already knew who'd be good, who'd be in near the end and certainly who the winner would be - right from the start. And the usual gripes about props, theme overload, inappropriate / recycled music, naff choreography etc. On the plus side, a handful of memorable dances and a couple of great new pros (+ one I'm undecided about!). Overall though, a series to bin, for me. |

I gave it a seven. I was really enjoying the series until Blackpool week where Jamelia was voted off in the dance-off when it was obvious that she was better than Peter. This series did not recover after that. I want the Dance-off gone next year.
The finale was a huge letdown with Jay not doing his Jive, the only dance that wowed me was Georgia's Charleston. I think for the next series they need to change the format for the finale. Tess, Claudia and Zoe were the best thing about this series and made the shows more enjoyable than they should have been. |

It was decent overall although not helped at all by the sense that there was only really one winner from very early on.
Ended on a slightly low note with an anti-climactic final (not the first one we've had) but nevertheless I give it seh-VERN. |

I gave it a 7. I enjoyed the celebs who were on it, they all seemed nice and I didn't particularly dislike any of them (even Peter Andre was sufferable!). The dancing was good in general given that ther were a lot of very capable dancers this year.
That said I didn't like the way they dealt with the balance between trained dancers and non-dancers. I felt the likes of Anita and Katie got criticised quite heavily for what was essentially not being as good as the others and I felt the criticism actually affected them both. They often got pulled up for the things that others got away with. I also didn't like the result being a foregone conclusion and whilst Jay technically was excellent, I didn't think he improved or learnt anything over the series (despite what Craig said about gaining expression I didn't really think he did manage it) and gave probably the least interesting of performances in the final (though the showdance was Aliona's fault) not doing the jive and only really nailing the Paso. Still at least he can dance well, I'm sure there have been worse winners 😄 On balance though it was very enjoyable and I'm already looking forward to next years series 😄 |
