I thought Georgia's look of utter shock and bewilderment when Craig said he would happily cast her in one of his West End shows was very touching indeed. I didn't particularly take to her some of the time but I found her immediate response to be very genuine. If Craig is as good as her word, she is going to be a very lucky girl - especially as she had already said that she now felt that she might enjoy taking on the challenge of doing some theatre work after her experience on Strictly.

It was such a spontaneous thing, wasn't it? Strictly has to be scripted and rehearsed (of course) and controlled as live TV but it's beautiful when moments like that happen

Well she didn't look best pleased and neither did Karen. It's to be expected of course but also a problem when you have family members competing.

Why is it a problem, though? It's not unusual in sporting (the Murrays, the Brownlows) and other competitions, especially on Strictly (the Bennetts, the Jordans). This seems to be inventing a problem simply to complain.
Their faces said it all, and Janette's too - I watched it back. It was unfortunate that all three were at the front on the balcony when the result was announced. The only other pro fully in shot was Ola. As soon as Jo and Janette realised the camera was on them they tried to smile but it all looked a bit forced. I understand that they wanted Kevin to win, but I felt sorry for both Jay and Georgia when all that chanting for 10s was going on.
Kevin wrote a very gentlemanly congratulations to Jay and Aliona on Twitter, Jo, Janette and Karen also congratulated them, as did Natalie, other pros strangely quiet - maybe enjoying a day off.

I go with this - the first session Kevin was on I really liked him; second session I though he was just a little over the top at times, but still enjoyed his dancing, but did find myself focussing on him rather than his partner which was perhaps not such a good thing in this type of show; this session found myself getting a little fed up with him, but this may have been due to Kellie who I found too over the top for my liking.

I would have been happy for any of the last three finalists to win. I will never forget Jay's amazing Jive and I'm still addicted to watching it (I love the way the music changes mid-way as much as anything) and many of the other amazing dances all of them did. I enjoyed the ITT interviews, and loved how they all entertained me - including the judges.
It's been a wonderful, all-consuming series and I've loved it

Yes it has. It just beats me why so many people want to complain about everything and everyone on it.
Placing that sort of emotional investment in a television programme must be completely exhausting.

I know what you mean, I like a bit of people watching too and one of my guilty pleasures is watching reactions.
For instance I loved the normally *blank faced* or *model smile* Gleb genuinely smiling and clapping for Georgia and Giovanni and Brendan hollering, I do like enthusiastic Brenda- it's just a shame we don't see it that often. Incidentally there were also '10' calls for Georgia and Giovannis Charleston from many in the Clauditarium in addition to Kevin and Kellies dances.
But there's a danger that I read too much into split second reactions. Also there was hardly a person in Strictly watching land who didn't know that Jay was a forgone conclusion, it was a bit hard to be that surprised at home never mind there. Or perhaps they're closer to some workmates/family than others, and that's entirely natural, nothing wrong with it.
Or maybe we're just reading too much into it

Just Karen wouldn't be a problem, or just Jo (along with Kevin) but it's all of them PLUS the Burn the Floor competitors. It just seems far more cliquey these days and it's something I've never noticed before. I don't want to listen to Jo critiquing the dances because she's absolutely biased .... obviously. Aljaz and Janette manage fine ... to be supportive of each other and fair to the other competitors but the Clifton clan are just totally biased IMO.
Perhaps the cameraman was wrong to focus on Jo and Karen immediately after the announcement but they should have been more professional tbh.
If Kevin had won the shrieking would have been insufferable ... as it was ... they were hard pushed to even applaud.

There is a difference from being part of the show to being the show..it was Clifton overkill and viewers/fans did not like it. Kevin is a talented dancer but he doesn't have what it takes to capture the hearts of the Strictly audience... Kevin's failure to win the Glitterball on three occasions is testament to that...if it's not his dance ability that's the issue then maybe it's Kevin himself.

I thought they were very professional considering. It's their husband/brother, someone who they love dearly, who has made the final and fell at the final hurdle again. The first reaction will be disappointment, then graciousness - and that's exactly what happened.
I do agree with you that I have to ask why they switched to the pros balcony for their reaction. Surely the spotter could have told the editor not to cut there due to who was front and centre at the time? Or give them some time to get over the shock before switching.

I thought Karen just looked concerned for hubby. I did find the favouritism by the dancers for Kellie and Kevin unprofessional, of course they are going to have their favourites but I don't want to know about them. They should act with impartiality.
Jo did seem happy enough when everyone was on the floor with Jay and Aliona. She was dancing and clapping enthusiastically.
