How does Jay rank in the annals of Strictly champions? |

I think Jay is one of the best male dancers (celebrities) that there has been.
However I don't think he will stick in the memory as strongly as some others who I rate lower - Chris Hollins, Tom Chambers to name but two. |

To me, he's an absolutely glorious dancer - natural talent honed by his childhood training. His style, though, is not naturally suited to the ballroom genre as a whole, where everything tends to be rather exaggerated and rules driven.
It may sound pretentious but I rather saw the final three as two people who are great at dance as performance and a third who is great at dance as art. For me, art wins and I'd rather see Jay's understated elegance - and understated performance - any day. Where does he rank? That really depends on what you want to see in your Strictly winner ... |
