It's the tone of the forum that's deteriorated as much as anything else. Opposing fans have always slugged it out, but these days it's just downright mean and nasty at times - far more than it ever was. Not nice.

If you read the article through it actually sounds she had a dizzy spell rather than actually fainting. The papers talk so much sh*t. She has been pushing it and the nerves etc. just got a bit much. She gathered herself and put a super energetic performance. Good for her.
![]() TBH I do wonder if she is pregnant, and before people go off on one, pregnancy is not an illness, it usually does not prevent you doing stuff. However, in the early stages, fainting/dizzy spells are not unheard of. 90 MPH routines cannot have helped, even when you are as fit as Kellie is. |

I blame Ola Jordan.
I always loved Ola - her bitterness and bitchy side was revealed on being eliminated so early. Can't tell you how disappointed I am - I always thought she was a sweetie - guess I was wrong. |

I think you've mistaken the meaning of my post. In fact I believe I'm in agreement with you and don't understand some of the unpleasant things being written about her and Kevin given that the forum and public favourites won!

I think it started with Peter's inclusion this year - some of the things written about him, his family, his name etc before he left (& after he left) set a really bad tone that just snowballed.

I think Jay and Aliona having a 'weak' night scoring wise has probably stoked the fires even more. I think, off the back of the series up to yesterday, people generally accepted them as winners even if they weren't their favourite. But yesterday's blip combined with Kellie's (especially) strong showing scoring wise has very much muddied the water and led to the outcome today.

I hope she's better now and is able to get some well deserved rest. Her schedule was unbelievable and I am really surprised she was allowed to train all the hours she did with that schedule.
From the whole situation it looks like the public doesn't like too hard triers. She did excel technically but failed to capture the votes. This also explains a bit the two perfect scores... (not that she was not brilliant, but still). |

It's got worse over the years - it used to be positively genteel in the days when it was pink (and fluffy). There was always a bit of controversy of course, but not the really personal, spiteful stuff. The degree of venom directed at the Clifton family is mind boggling.
![]() The Clifton's seem like decent people, who have never been anything but kind and patient to their partners, know their craft VERY well and work damn hard at it. They seem like positive people and even Karen, gets duffer after duffer and she treats them all with respect and gives her all to them, so much so that they usually go further then the week one exit they deserve based on dance ability. |

No worries. I've done it myself. It's hard without the person's tone and gestures to add nuance to the writing.
![]() I read it as why can't 'we' the Jay and enjoy it and people stop should talking about other people and ruining it for Jay and his fans. ![]() Oh well, apologies again, I re-read your post and it made sense reading it from the different perspective. But yes, we are on the same page. |

It's hard sometimes isn't it?! Coupled with the fact I'm getting over the flu, I think my mind is thick!

Sorry to hear you've been unwell and hope you feel better very soon. I don't know if all the negative posts are from Jay's fans anyway so would not want to apportion criticism to one group. Re-watching Jay's response to winning shows he's lovely. I don't begrudge his win at all and enjoyed the show. Everyone upped their game, even Katie whose fatal flaw seemed to be nerves that she never conquered. Anyway, I'm rambling. Season's greetings.
![]() ![]() Happy holidays to you too! |

I love Karen, I think she's wonderful - gorgeous lady inside and out. The way she gets on with the job and makes sure her celeb partner has fun regardless of their ability is great; I think some of the others could learn a lot from her. I actually hope Kevin gets a dud next year - I think it might be good for him to have a quiet year where he isn't accused of being favoured, and I suspect he'd also work well with a less able partner.
Joanne - I like her but only in small doses, I find her "baby voice" really irritating and wonder why she does it BUT I have loved her doing Choreography Corner when Karen was away, she really came into her own there and suited the role really well, I would like to see her back next year with a contender Kevin - I have really, really tried to like him, I don't dislike him but I don't like him either, if that makes sense, it hasn't helped that haven't really liked any of the celebs that he has been partnered with and I do find him very ott and 'in your face' I think he should be challenged next year with a Carol Kirkwood type |

I love Karen too - she is the sweetest lady and always gets the best out of her partners, whether she has a Jeremy/Dave or a Nicky/Mark

I have been like that with Kevin, not disliked him, but sometimes found him too much, but never the hate that is poured on him. I really liked him this year when he was ill and he was talking about his cardi and the sizing. I thought he seemed really sweet. No doubt he will get a duffer next year, but I believe he will show them a lot of patience and most likely get them quite far. I hope Jo gets a decent partner. Quote:

The level of hatred thrown at them bemuses me because I've never seen anything negative come from them ever. |

Katie was the only other finalist with other employment needing maintained during strictly (and she was rubbish ). Both jay and georgia had all day every day to perfect their routines . Kellie was bloody amazing on the go from 7am till midnight every day until kevin had to call a halt from exhaustion, no wonder she MAY have felt the pressure . The article says she felt dizzy, no mention of her actually fainting .
Well anyway she has proven her work ethic and talent so I should think she'll not be short of work even if eastenders sacked her tomorrow . Time for a nice long break somewhere warm and sunny to recharge her batteries . Good luck to her , she was a shining star

Yes, it sounds like she was just exhausted.
Some of the comments on here are beyond nasty and reveal a lot about people. |

Well, I'm very surprised we didn't know about this.
Full credit goes to Kellie for performing so many uptempo dances throughout the entire series while filming for EastEnders at the same time and still managing to put a smile on her face through it all. ![]() And I personally would love to see how certain other people in this thread would cope with such a gruelling schedule, because some of the comments (from the usual suspects, I see ) are just plain spiteful. Would you all like a plate each to suck your lemons over?
