Why did he pick Gary from the pool first, he didn't get a word in on the whole show, wot was the point of him being on the show ?

I had the exact same thought a few week ago

There's something about Gary that makes me think he was actually strong, but he just pissed off someone in the editing team so we literally never saw anything of him.

Well Joseph said that he picked Gary as he was good at presentations, so I presume he worked with him on that (unseen by us)

I really liked when Joseph was....not exactly panicking, but worrying slightly about his pitch and Gary asked him to think about an anecdote about himself. An old trick to increase people's charisma but it usually tends to work, I'm surprised more of the candidates didn't cotton on.

I liked that a lot too. I can certainly see why Gary was first pick, because let's face it, of all the candidates this year, including the two finalists, Gary would actually be the easiest to get on with. Maybe he wouldn't be the best at running his own business, but he'd certainly be good to work with.

It's been his performance all over, so it was a perfect tribute to Corporate-G (with a mobile disco).

From what I seen of him last night, Joe would have been better getting a cardboard cut out of him, not one word did I see him utter......

I would say Gary was picked for his ability to get on with things without moaning. There was plenty of shots of Joseph and Gary working together so I would also think that Joseph trusted Gary and was happy to work alongside him in a stressful environment.

There's nothing entertaining in watching someone be competent.

I would've preferred Brett to have been placed into the Final Five rather than Gary to be honest, as I suspect his family profiles and interviews would've been more entertaining - but I guess we'll never know.

Maybe his business plan was too similar to Joseph's, and Lord Sugar thought Gary's mobile disco would've been more intriguing for viewers!
