She has at times on the balcony following their dances on the live shows this year been very affectionate towards him snuggling up close and giving him a little peck on the cheek. I really like it, to me it shows she really respected him. Did it surprise me that he was her own personal favourite contestant on the show?

Anyway, there is nothing going on here, likewise with Georgia. I don't read or even trust what is said in a tabloid.

Made up story yet again.

Do not buy the Daily Mail. Do not believe a word it prints.

I think the pro dancers are used to forgetting any inhibitions, as they dance close to partners all the time. There is a genuine closeness that papers exploit, it's like the celebrities wearing a lot of clothes at the start, but cut back more and more as they get into it.

When your with a dance partner and dancing close and spending long hours together friendship blossoms, your normal comfort zones adjust and your less inhibited, papers just exploit that.

If I saw two randoms acting like this in the street I would not hesitate to assume they were a couple in love.”

Exactly, it's a very strange way to act, close friendship or not, I found their reaction to winning equally strange, close friends would jump up and down, clap, hug, go a bit mad. But they just stood gazing at one another and could barely take their eyes of each other, it was actually embarrassing.

I can only think that Aliona's husband is a very understanding man.

I wasn't embarrassed at all TBH. I thought it was a lovely moment. I have enjoyed their dances over and above anything else I've ever seen on Strictly before.

IMO everyone of their dances were special - if some of that was down to some sort of chemistry then so be it. It's a dance competition - they made it very special (for me) this year.

If they're having a few 'tender' moments now it really doesn't bother me. I would imagine that Aliona's husband is a very understanding man - a professional dancer has to out him/herself into all kinds of very 'intimate' positions/situations if they are going to achieve something wonderful. It doesn't mean there's a full blown love affair going on - just a very close and 'special' friendship.

Lol, her husband was with them. To quote Jay from radio 2 today they all went back to his place Him, Ali and both their families and were eating crisp sandwiches at 4 on Sunday morning.

BIB but that's not Jay, he just doesn't ever behave that way, and Aliona knows that. I saw her mouth 'are you OK' at one point....she knows that he's likely to freeze. I loved that look between them, they shared a few moments of joy and pride, and why not.

One thing we can gain ftom the pictures is They dont care who sees them or who photos them havent hidden any affection they show

I remember them trying to insinuate that there was something going on with Abbey and Aljaz after they won as well. Likewise the reports all conveniently ignored the husband just off shot. 😂

Still, the tabs have to milk it while they can - the gravy train of easy column inches selling fairy tales to people based on cropped photos will be over soon.

Can you imagine if you got that close to someone you work with, pressing (as Sheldon Cooper in Bang Bang Theory would put it) their "bathing suit areas" together? It would be so embarrassing and completely out of order!

But that's what dancers do and accept it as part of their job, and that's what the public expects to see. It must take quite a while to get back to being individuals with their own private space when you've been that close to someone for many weeks every day.

There must be some affection in it because you can't be physically that close to someone unless there is, but, in most cases and in this one, it's platonic affection. A complete non-story from a tabloid rag.

There are some double standards going on here. When There were forum members going going aaah wouldn't they make a lovely couple over Abbey & Aljaz when they danced together, even acknowledging them being in relationships but who could blame them it's all so lovely, but now being 'shocked' that anyone could possibly suggest that Jay & Aliona are a couple & rush to alert mods to have threads shut down as it might tarnish his little boy lost image.

On Jays side I think he's completely besotted. He's a boy not a man so on Aliona's side it would have to be something very special for her to give up her marriage & I can't see it somehow.

On another point. It says they will be dancing their special moment jive twice a day on tour.

"We can only speculate as to what the married 31-year-old dancer had to say"
Yes that's about all the Daily Mail ever do ... "speculate" rather than "report" news

"And only a few hours before the final, when being interviewed, he told Aliona, recently married to businessman Vincent Kavanagh: ‘There is so much I want to say. I’ll just say that I love you to pieces"
Yes and people engaged in a secret love affair always go on tv and openly state they love each other. Honestly I say I love you to my best friends and they do me. Love comes in all guises to adults and you can have a platonic love for people (of both genders) with nothing more in it than that.

"Indeed, one can’t help but feel a degree of sympathy for Aliona’s husband...."
The same husband who has spent hours with them as a trio and who himself has a great relationship with Jay and comes to every show, and drove the pair to Blackpool and back. I doubt he needs or wants the sympathy card

"...of barely a year, salesman Vincent Kavanagh"
Wrong: Vincent and Aliona got married April 17th 2014 so it's nearly two years not "barely a year"
Wrong: He is not a "salesman" which makes him sound like a dodgey second-hand car dealer. He's actually a "UK & European Sales Director - Air Partner plc". That took all of 5 seconds to find on LinkedIn, but apparently beyond the capabilities of a Daily Fail reporter.

"A source has revealed"
Ahhhh yes I was wondering how many times the "source" card would be used. Didn't take long to find it in the article.

"says a show source"
Hey we are moving up in the world... not just a source but a SHOW source everyone.

Am I the only I one who feels really sorry for her husband, regardless of whether there is anything going on. Aliona and Jay have been be too touchy feeley I would be so hurt if that was my husband with a work partner. For those defending this as innocent put you self in Vincent 's shoes, does she not care!

Her husband knew what a touchy/feely job she had when he married her. She is extremely close with her professional partner.

Some of the couples are married to each other, some aren't and it seems to work OK for therm[/quote]

She's been like this with her partners in the past though. I mean she's not doing anything wrong and I'm pretty sure you don't marry a professional dancer if you get squeamish about watching them show physical closeness with other people.

Really I think the problem is that people are projecting a bit not realising that dancers are used to a degree of intimacy with people that probably most non dancers would be uncomfortable with if it wasn't with a person they were in a relationship with.

Yes but the job is over now, they aren't dancing in the pics they are walking down the street. Like I said might be innocent but it's not nice for her husband.

I would someone to get pictures of editors of taboids with other female members of their staff then make similar insinuations of affairs between them but unfortunately the tabloids rarely do things like that, classic 'honour amongst thieves' between themselves. I always remember a TV programme having a camera on a cherry picker looking into the windows of one editor after he had been running stories about Princess Diana - he was not happy! They also 'doorstepped' another editor with a load of photographers outside his house as he and his wife left for work in the morning - also not happy!

Rubbish! Aliona has only just got married. I don't think she would be as tacky as to hurt her husband. It is nature of the job. Her and any partner she has will appear to be close until she gets another one. Obviously this one took her to the final so they had more contact. Her and Harry seemed to be close too (sorry cant remember if she was partnered with Harry)

That may be their world and how they are in it . I am just glad I dont live in that kind of world as I would be very hurt to see my husband snuggling up and holding hands with his good friends . Nor would I be happy to ask my husband to accept me snuggling and hugging and holding hands with my male friends
If thats how Aliona and her husband live and are fully accepting of it then thats their business .
I wouldnt be

I don't know what goes on behind closed doors. I know a lot of dancers, some have more open relationships or marriages, others do not.

Aliona and Jay are showing behaviour I would not be happy seeing a partner do with another girl while walking along the street. Yes in the ballroom obviously, but this, plus moving into his changing room.

One other point, I don't know what is going on, but everyone saying this is how Aliona is, touchy feely, ok, but she didn't seem to be kissing, hugging, holding hands and draping herself over Greg Wallace.

That would be hard to do
