Forgive me, if this has been done, I'm new here, but the 'comedian' is awful with Jack Dee. The clips of him getting coffee were a waste of time.much to prefer listening to unbisaedd clips!

I agree. All that crap with Ramesh made it feel like the show was about him. As though this series of the Apprentice was a vehicle for Ramesh. Which for me not only wasted a lot of time which I didn't find particularly funny, but it detracted away from what the show is supposed to be about.
After watching the final it's only now that I noticed how poor the studio is. It's just too bloody small. The setup looked inappropriate for the final. In previous series it felt like the studio was much bigger and made the final You're Hired seem like much more of an occasion. This studio looked to be seriously inadequate. I think they need to seriously reevaluate the production on this show, because that final was seriously lacking. That was the worst final I've ever seen out of all the series by some margin, and I've watched them all. It just didn't feel like the final at all. It felt so small in scope. All previous years the final actually felt like it was the final. This felt like some bits of chit chat inbetween some comedy sketches of The Romesh Ranganathan Show. |

I was disappointed that Karren and Claude weren't included, instead of him. I do like both of them, Karren for her death stares and Claude for his encouraging looks.

Even a bit more banter with the interviewers would have been more welcome that Romesh's comedy sketches. It did feel like Claude and Karren were sidelined, and after all they're a much more important element to the actual show than Romesh. |

I don't mind Romesh generally (and his stand up is very good), but YF has always been pretty crap.
I think it's better to have Romesh than one of Dara's 'Mock the Week' mates every week anyway... |

There are comedians out there who have had "proper" jobs in business, before moving into stand-up, so could actually ask non-scripted questions that night be relevant.
John Bishop was a Sales Manager for an Insurance company, and previously sold vacuum cleaners door-to-door. Katherine Ryan worked globally for the "Hooters" bar chain, and originally came to the UK to set up bars for them ("her" branch in Nottingham is going strong). I would prefer to have someone who has "managed" or worked in business, successfully, for a living presenting the show, so their pointing out of the stupid mistakes comes from a knowledgeable position, rather than just pointing and laughing. Jack Dee was a waiter before he moved into comedy, and Romesh was a schoolteacher. |

Objective, we can all be that. But does it make them funny and entertaining? Very subjective. I just don't think we should have had to put up with him every week. He wasn't funny, just miserable

I think the comment Mergim made about Sugar's death was brushed off quite well!

the only positive about YF this year is that we have escaped Josh Widdicombe, Katherine Ryan, Sara Cox and Russell Howard

Spoiler
I really didn't like the new YF at all. I'd be happy if Dee, Romesh and the set got fired. Quote:

There's a place for the world weary, cynical and miserable outlook on YF but to have both Jack Dee and Romesh doing it was too much, it needed some contrast. Someone to lighten the mood.
I thought this years You're Hired was abysmal. I wouldn't mind Jack back next series but Romesh needs replaced with someone a bit cheerier and dare I say it? Funnier? |

Lefty comedy is not suitable for a business programme analysing and celebrating Capitalism. Or maybe next year they will go the whole hog, and have Jeremy Corbyn on the panel |

Jack Dee has quit
Maybe we will get a host with a modicum of business sense. |

Maybe they could get Adrian or Dara back. I'd be tempted to lean towards a presenter who's quite funny rather than a comedian.

Now I've got a funny feeling that Jack was only ever intended to host the show for one year, and that Romesh's regular role was actually a series-long audition for the main host's job.

I'd have no complaints about Romesh as host, he loves the show.

Yes Jack has left. I didn't like him so I'm not bothered he's gone

I agree that the combination of Jack and Romesh didn't work. You can only have one dead-pan comedian in a show - he has to have someone to fire off.
I'd prefer Jack to Romesh but if Jack has gone then Romesh will be ok, preferably without any guest comedians. In fact, just two guests would be better, give them more chance to talk to the candidates without being cut-off or edited out. |

I think that Matt Edmondson would be good; he's a funny person and he seems to really enjoy it whereas Jack Dee lacked any enthusiasm in my opinion. I don't think there should be a guest panellist that comes every week like Romesh and it's good to have a mix of comedians and business people that are well known as opposed to a panel of randomers no one has ever heard of. This in my opinion made you're fired really dull to watch. They didn't have any good comedians last year I don't think - i.e Hugh Dennis, Michael McIntyre haven't been on in a few years .
