Lovely Christmas Records
I'm tired of listening to bilge like Wizzard and Slade each year now; I thought Id post a couple of lesser heard, superior tracks on this thread..
Anyone want to add to it? Nat "King " Cole - I saw three ships https://youtu.be/YqMSPvi-RKw Carpenters - Merry Christmas, Darling https://youtu.be/Kn1uK4SwB9Q Pentatonix - We three Kings https://youtu.be/oBuaGe5inNU Ella Fitzgerald - The Christmas song https://youtu.be/MKG5iJb2kSY |

Smooth FM have a temporary Smooth Xmas channel on which you can hear stuff best forgotten, from Dana to Gilbert O'Sullivan. Some good stuff in amongst it.

I 'may' have been switching between that station and Classic FM. Even downloaded that Michael Buble song. But who cares; it's Christmas and I've been on hols since last week.
Gilbert O'Sullivan though. I'd completely forgotten that tune.

You cant beat a bit of White Christmas and i love Silent night as well. Love the classics like Wizard and Slade as they get everyone going, you cant help but sing along.

I love a bit of Nat King Cole at Christmas. Just so traditional.

Iron Maiden - "Another Rock n Roll Xmas", just a shame that a dirty nonce done the original as it is a great song.

It's both syrupy and bland, which is quite tricky to pull off I'll grant you. Sentimental, 'new country'-ish granny fodder.
![]() Give me some lovely Nat King Cole any day.

All of Sufjan Stevens' "Songs For Christmas", but especially the interspersed tracks that are played on old toy instruments, and the old piano used to great effect on Disc 5's "Once in Royal David's city".
