I would find it highly disparaging if a judge did have such a close relationship to one of those he judges. Then again, I find it unsavoury that a sister of a finalist can be qualified to neutrally analyse her brother's competition. In other words, the show has lost its credibility due to incestuous relationships...

I see no problem in family members taking part in the show; it creates bonds. I do have a slight issue where they're passing comment on Choreography Corner etc. when they have an understandable vested interest in regards to the remaining couples - but that's down to the production team.

At least on DWTS its obvious Julianne is Derek's brother and on DWTS Russia its obvious Elena is Gleb's wife, the issue with this one is that its all under wraps if Len is his godfather.

A stupid rumour started by immature and over invested 'fans' based on their hate. They keep forgetting that this us supposed to be a fun entertainment show, and it's Kevin's real life job they're going after. No one deserves this crap directed at them or talked about them. I wonder when some 'fans' will cross some boundaries and lines and still think it as a 'joke'.

I just want Artem to be given a celebrity on Dancing with the Stars as he used to go out with Carrie-Ann Inaba (one of the judges).

How is it under wraps when it's not true? Do pros have to debunk rumours spread by idiots on social media constantly or else it becomes true? As it is, he and Joanne (& Karen) did debunk it - giving these pathetic attention seekers a cheap thrill in the process I imagine.

You do realise that the godparent/godchild relationship has no legal status or significance. I take it? It's not necessarily even a familial relationship - although it can be.
Even if it were true - which apparently it isn't - what difference would it make?

Well they are both from the same industry, its not like some long lost godfather, they are both in pro-dance circles which aren't that big.

I haven't looked in on DWTS for a while now (got tired of Derek winning, even though I admire his choreography skills
) but I was sure Artem has had a celeb partner * by now. * wikipedia says he had Lea Thompson in Season 19 (think that's Fall of 2014) and Patti laBelle in season 20 (spring of this year). Lea made it to quarter finals (6th place) and Patti made it to 8th place. Don't know how Carrie Ann's judging was affected.

Len may be a curmudgeon, but if he's a "Godfather" he's not very effective! (otherwise Kev would have won 3 times now!)If knowing each other from ballroom dancing circles is to be a no-no for a judge, we could end up with NO knowledgeable ballroom judges.
If one is good enough to have won competitions and/or judged them, they will "know" most, if not all, professionals applying for this show. 
Thats the trouble with rumours (and rumour starters) they're like poison - the after effects never really go away! Even if they start as a 'joke' there is bound to be someone who will take it seriously. I saw it mentioned in a DM comment last week, said as a fact just to spread it even further. Between the fixes, conspiracies and smears there really has been some 'over invested' people this year. Whatever will they do now it's ended?!
