Hey everyone, it's Karl again.

As you know I design the DVD covers for each series of strictly once it finishes, and with the season over I can show you the latest design:

As ever I put this to a little vote on another forum to gauge opinions on the four that made the cover, applying to it three personal rules I set myself with the designs:

1) Winner is a lock
2) Only Blackpool contestants are eligible
3) At least one male and one female make it

Anita topped the poll with Kellie second, whilst there was a tie between Jamelia and Georgia and I made the decision to go with Georgia. Jay only came fifth in the poll, but his victory bumped him up to an automatic spot.

Not perfect as ever, but happy to tweak should some spot some major flaws. Enjoy.

I didn't know as I'm new to the Strictly forum this year but I like your design & it does feature four of the 'real stories' of this series!!
Glad you did pick Georgia (no reflection on Jamelia) but she has been THE story of this series for me, to come from where she started to where she was at the end is what Strictly is all about!!

To be honest I think I would have put the four finalists on the cover. Yes Anita had a great journey but in fairness, Katie was the one that made it to the final (whether we agree with that or not).

Just out of interest which website did you run the poll on?

One thing I would tweak is the cut/paste job on the photos which need to be cleaned up a bit e.g. Georgia's hair at the bottom where you can see the original background

Agree, if there are going to be four featured at the bottom then in fairness they should be the four finalists. Besides, using anyone other than those four will lead to complaints of "Why not Helen" etc, we all have our favourites, so wouldn't it make sense to use the obvious option of finalists only and avoid controversy.

I am guessing the one were majority of members are man hating lesbians who hate anything with a penis... my guess This is Big Brother or Survivor Sucks

I would remove the dancers in the background that features in the foreground & replace them with other dancers, like Jeremy Ainsley, Carol & Anita (if she is removed from foreground)

Even though I am a huge Anita supporter, she wasn't in the final It should be the four finalist, Jay, Georgia, Kellie & Katie.

You should definitely replace Anita with Katie. A photo of Jay after the haircut would be nice.

All this is speculation really.

I agree with others who say it should be Katie not Anita in the main picture, whatever people's personal preferences, as she did come 4th.

Also, as Jay had short hair for most of the time in the competition, the main picture of him should be with short hair. Surely there is a decent picture of him with shorter hair that could be used rather than the original BBC one.

Yes, Jay with short/straightened Tango or Paso hair please.

Looks good. I understand people saying Anita wasn't one of the finalists but for me she was one of the main stars of the series (along with Jay) so I am happy to see her in the group highlighted. Katie being in top left also alleviates the issue for her somewhat. The only thing I would have added would be a picture of Jeremy somewhere as he was another of the most entertaining. Good stuff regardless.

Jay's pic post haircut, please. Samson-like, he has changed utterly in public perception since Round 2.

Maybe just keep the 3 top finalists in cameo pics, if you don't want to put in the 4th placed couple. Putting Anita in cameo instead of Katie looks like a mistake on your part.

Also, what is the black shape blocking out most of the image of Katie at the top and part of Anton?

I agree with the others that it should be Katie and not Anita featured at the bottom as she was a finalist. Also yes maybe change the picture of Jay to one after his haircut.

Her dress and his suit are both black. Is that what you mean?

Agree with others that it should be Katie at the bottom instead of Anita as it looks like the four finalists; also that a photo of Jay with his hair cut should be used instead - he had long hair for one week so it's a bit odd.

In addition, I'd move the background shot of Kellie and Kevin. With the text running across their faces, in particular across their eyes, they're nearly unrecognisable.

Nearly all of the background shots are of ballroom dances, and there is a string of 5 of them altogether, then the three Latin dances together. I'd prefer more of a mixture, and I find it an odd choice for Anita in particular, as her Latin was much better than her ballroom.

Well at least you got the 4 finalists that should have made the final!

there isn't

I think its just something the OP does

not sure if he has his own dvds and that is the cover or he just makes covers but there certainly isn't an official dvd released from the BBC

I like your designs on big brother USA. Suprised you don't add 6 people from the season on your strictly design.

You should had started a poll on this forum as well as you would have gotten a wider market who would have voted fairly instead of this is big brother who only wanted jamellia on the cover because she is black and female.

They sure did love Jamelia on that forum, they wasn't so keen on Jay that's for sure.

Exactly where was this poll posted because on all the other online polls I have seen Jay has had over 50% of the vote with the other contestants sharing the rest of the vote. He has even come 2nd ( narrowly missing out on 1st place) in the Radio Times best TV moments of 2015 with strong competition.

A picture of Jay without the long hair would be preferable as he only had that for the launch show and show one.

Like I said the poll was done on this is big brother where many of the members hate any man on reality and worship females especially black or Asian ones. I am sure if jamella was white no one would have cared about her on the forum

Why on earth would someone canvas the opinions of viewers of different show to see what should be on the cover for SCD, when presumably they are not that interested necessarily and may not even watch it. How very strange.

I have to say that is very strange, you won't get a true result then??? What about the DVD itself is that what people in the BB forum want as well?
