Leaving on a high

better than leaving after getting a couple of more duffers which would have certainly happened after this years win

time to start another chapter of her life

good luck to her

Interesting to see what she does next...

Aliona had a unique ability on Strictly. The ability to make me dislike completely likeable people some of whom I hadn't even heard off before they started dancing with her. I'll believe she's gone when she hasn't been on Strictly for 2 years. We've been here before ofcourse but that wasn't on her terms & Aliona doesn't do things that aren't are her terms.
She's had an incredibly fortunate run on Strictly, done really well with good looking men who could already dance & been completely useless with anyone who had no ability & wasn't going to go far.

Bye Aliona

^^What a load of nonsense.
She's bowing out at the right time and good on her, I say.

Perhaps also bye Jan2555etc - great relief not to see your vitriolic posts for a long number of months.

Well, she had got two duffers in a row - the golfer, Tony Jacklin and the the chef, Gregg Wallace and to be honest, maybe she felt it was time to move on.

She has said this has been her favourite series and Jay McGuiness has been her favourite contestant and winning it for a second time just a couple of days ago has been for her the perfect send-off. I wish her continued success with her dance school in Los Angeles.

What a nasty and uncalled for post.

After 7 years on Strictly Come Dancing, as my finale, this has been my best Strictly experience ever by a long way!

Going into this Strictly Come Dancing Series13, I decided that no matter what would happen, it will be my last one❤️

....................

I really like her as a pro, so sad news to me ”

I shall miss her. However, well done to her for winning the competition this year.
I wish her and her husband a happy holiday in Florida http://metro.co.uk/2015/12/22/strict...-show-5579645/

And Jan's original wasn't?

Edited to add - personally I found both the posts in question unpleasant, but both are merely expressing opinions, which is what a forum is all about. If you don't like the tone of particular post(s) you have two options - add the poster to your ignore list and/or alert the moderators if you feel the post breaches T&Cs. But beware of criticising them directly - at best you could be feeding a troll, at worst you could be deemed to have breached T&Cs yourself and end up getting banned. For which reason I'll shut up now.

I hope they replace her with a tall/medium height pro otherwise poor Natalie is going to really stick out amongst the other females.

Not surprised at Alionas decision. She's done some sterling work on the show and is leaving on a real high.

I always get the impression that she is something of a maverick when it comes to playing the Strictly game. That said I like that aspect of her because it would be pretty boring if everyone played by the rules of 'OMG isn't this fun fun fun' script all the time. We need light and shade and realness in the show.

I like her dancing too, especially in the group numbers and with Ola leaving too they've lost two of the sexiest female pros IMO.

Gonna miss Aliona. She's by far and away my favourite female pro. Completely understand her decision though. No better way to go out then becoming the most successful pro.

Indeed. Never mind the fact that Jay didn't want to redo the Jive and Jay wanted to do the Paso again...

unlike this I have never ever been personally offensive to particular forum members which actually is against the forum rules by the way.

I am not vitriolic & I don't think my original post was in anyway a problem apart from putting my own personal view on Aliona's time on Strictly, which is allowed on a forum this isn't meant to be purely appreciation & you can prove to me that I'm wrong in my assessment of her teaching & patience abilities then go ahead, give me the name of a celeb that didn't already have ability on the dance floor (or didn't have looks) that she's got further through the competition than expected.

For me Strictly is about bringing the best out of your celebrity no matter who they are or their starting ability & Aliona just didn't/doesn't do that as far as I can see & for that reason I'm not personally sorry to see her go.

If you or any other forum members have a problem with me then block me as suggested. I will accept I've found some of the Jay/Aliona posts very nauseating this year which perhaps has brought out the worst in me HOWEVER I will not be scared away by your personally offensive post as I am a very long term member who has the right to post when & what I like within the rules of the forum & if you think I'm vitriolic & hateful then boy this forum has changed.

Brilliant dancer in my opinion, always been a fan.

The vitriol pointed at her in this forum over the years has bordered on being demented.

Good to see she has gone out on a high.

I'll be honest i've never been a massive Aliona fan, but have warmed to her alot of the years and she had a run of awful contestants.

I think it's wise; she's gone where no pro has gone before and won a full series twice

However (to add) I think she did choreograph well and the different/ creative pros are a bit few and fair between on SCD these days

I agree entirely she will have plenty of options being twice a worthy winner. Not only that, she made it clear Jay was her best partner (might have been a bit naughty to have said that) and she might feel she won't get that feeling of euphoria again

I thought from the moment she was paired with Jay that she was leaving I couldn't see her going back to the standard of celebs she had the last few years & win or lose she would leave on a high. I may not always like her choreography but always thought she was a fabulous dancer and I will miss her

To be fair to Aliona I couldn't see any other pro do any better with Johnny, Tony & Gregg she wasn't given a MOR celeb except maybe Rav which was her first series.

A Kevin fan by any chance? At least Aliona know what it feels like to be given duffers AND how difficult it is

Aliona is a most gorgeous dancer, and simply lights up the screen! It's such a privilege to have been able to watch her sublime dancing on Strictly, and just hope that I'll get the opportunity to see more of it in the future - perhaps on other shows, and on the Christmas special.
