IPhone 4S battery
First off, apologies if there is already a thread on this, I didn't have time to trawl through every page to check.
My husband has had an iPhone 4S for four, maybe a little more, years. For the past couple of months he's been leaving the house with the phone charged at 100%, and getting back maybe 8 or 9 hours later with it down to 20% plus. He very, very, rarely uses it for data, just calls, and maybe 4 or 5 per day of them, 3 or 4 texts and sometimes the same amount of WhatsApps. On occasion he'll have 23, 24, 25%, pick the phone up to make a call and it will die in his hands and he'll have to charge it straight away. He's been advised to get a new charger, but neither he, nor I, can understand that. He bought it brand new from an Apple Store, and of course, it came with a charger, which he has always used. If the charger takes the phone to maximum battery, 100%, and the phone runs down quicker than you'd expect from that 100%, can it possibly be the fault of the existing charger? My iPhone 6 lasts for a couple of days, and I use way more data than my husband, probably more calls and texts as well. |

He needs a new phone, or at the least, a new battery for his old phone.

They told him that the battery was 'consumed', presumably that's Apple talk for finished, and quoted him £70 for a replacement to be fitted, and to come back in two hours to get the phone. When he went back this had changed to £59.00, he's happy again. |
