Is Hello by Adele the most irritating song of this year? I know quite a few people who would say so.

Not really - it is my favourite song of the year

It's a good song. Adele is a talented musician in comparison to Justin Bieber or Taylor Swift and other mainstream performers.Adele can actually sing well. The song Hello is good, though a bit overplayed.

I can think of plenty of songs much more irritating - anything by Meghan Trainor for a start.

I'm not a fan. She's talented, but doesn't do anything for me musically.

It is a great song. The instrumental version was used on Newsnight a couple of days ago as a backdrop to footage of the Migrant Crisis and other World Events and it was very striking.

But my fav track on the album is Remedy.

Obviously not everyone will like it, but how is it 'irritating'? I wish people would try to qualify statements like this.

FWIW, I really like it.

Why? Taylor can strum a guitar, Adele can tickle the ivories. I don't really see one being superior to the other.

Aint nobody sung by that girl with her pristine voice is far far far more irritating and the worst attempt to cover this Chaka Khan hit

Hello is just verging on silly IMHO, it makes me laugh and the first bit sounds like a commercial

Black Magic by Little Mix is the most irritating song of all time.

I've only heard it a couple of times thankfully

Are threads that are basically asking for affirmation of the poster's view the most irritating on the internet?

At least have the courage of your convictions, OP, and just state your opinion without asking for back up....

OT: incredible comeback single now verging on the overplayed. ANYONE AGREE?

I don't think it's irritating. However, like most power ballads, it is quite bland and feels like a vehicle for the singer to show off rather than actually sing a song.

It's not as good as some of her older hits, but I thought it was okay.

It's probably the best song of the year.

Cheerleader is the most irritating.

It's only irritating if you choose to let it irritate you.

If I hear a song that kinda bugs me, I can easily exit a room, change the station or block it out. I don't feel the need to bitch about it online.

I take it you never make a post criticising something

No. It is one of the very few songs that made the Top 40 this year that is actually listenable.

It isn't irritating but like much of her output it is just well bland. There is absolutely nothing special, original or interesting about it, it's a run of the mill safe first single. But there will be many who disagree and think it is the most incredible piece of songwriting and musicality in years.

Nope. One of my favorites.

It's exactly this, blandness.

It's Adele. What were you expecting? Experimental ambient trance a la Aphex Twin or something? Some people, millions actually, like what you consider to be safe and bland. What about the people who think it's neither bland nor incredible, just a good song? Are they allowed to like it without being criticised?

No.

It's one of the best singles released this year.

Most irritating song of the year for me has to be House Every Weekend because it sounds so basic, and those vocals are atrocious.

It's irritating in the sense it's more of the bloody same from Adele. How many years has she been banging on about this failed relationship?! Hasn't she got any new material?

It's been years woman! He's probably forgotten all about you. Why call 1 thousand times if he didn't answer the first few. The other side doesn't sound like a nice place to be. What's the point in going over things again and again. Hello, it's me. Fk off!
