Male Pro for Aliona's touring show?

No there isn't one yet but given their choreography this year, Gleb & Aliona is a dance show I would walk many miles to see (not quite 500 though)

Of previous shows, Anton & Erin were a bit tame and it just seemed a demonstation of dances with a boring Q&A session playing on their Strictly fame. Brendon & Aliona was a superb show and the following year without Aliona it was still very good but a bit lacking (not just lacking Aliona) and had an even more interminable Q&A filling up time with such gems as "it's my birthday, can I fell your bum?". Vincent & Flavia's dance till Dawn was fabulous on both tours and Last Tango as good if not better but this is their final tour.

So with Anton & Brendon not hitting the highs any more for me & Flavia/Vincent retiring there is a bit of a hole appearing in the touring dance shows and an opportunity for an ambitious young couple to step in, hence the hope that something like Gleb & Aliona could sart something off.

They would still need a band, singers and a troupe of backing dancers but Flavia & Vincent's entire ensemble (by far the best of the 3 shows mentioned) must be looking for work for next year, so a ready made road show is just around the corner.

Bring in Jay for a couple of spots with Aliona and someone like Natalie Gumede with Gleb (they could even do 1 dance together!) and I would have no problem paying the same as the Srictly Tour prices, which seem a bit steep given that not everyone on the shows have generally been top class.

There is certainly a gap in the market looming so someone will probably fill it, it is just a matter of who.

Aliona isn't popular enough to have her own tour. I think she has enough self awareness to know that herself. Her 2 wins were with boybanders lest we forget.

As I have said before, Brendon & Aliona at M/C every seat was sold. The following year without Aliona the gallery had at most 50 seats occupied and maybe 200 empty seats ( not sure how man it holds but at at £25 -£30 per seat that is a lot of lost money) so either Aliona has a lot of popularity or Bendon is on his way out. Re the partners, Brendon's only win was series 1 with 6 starters and Matt Baker was a finalist and certainly no boybander.

Anyway Gleb & Aliona is not the same as the Aliona show or the Gleb show.

Gleb's wife is also a pro dancer, I'm sure he wouldn't tour with Aliona.
I'd pay good money to see Anton and Erin doing pure ballroom bliss (which I did once, beautiful!). Same goes for Vincent and Flavia, they are excellent!
I'd never pay good (or any money) to see Aliona doing wacky wafty.
But each to their own, different strokes for different folks.

I don't know how her victory is anything less than that of a sport celebrity or a TV presenter. Lest you forget she also had a terrific run with Matt Baker - they would have won any season without Kara and Artem around. You might (or might not) also remember her unforgettable professional partnership with Matt Cutler.

Slight tangent - sorry - but Ian and Natalie are coming to our local theatre next year. Has anyone seen them and was it good? I like Natalie, less sure about seeing Ian.

Aliona - if Aliona was coming here I'd definitely go, whoever she was dancing with.

I think you're way out with this. There is clearly a small element who for some reason seem to dislike her greatly. But the vast majority of Strictly fans do like her IMO. This boybander thing is nonsense. It wasn't enough for Kristina to win with Simon Webbe.

If it wasn't for the Kara and Artem story Aliona would have a staggering 3 wins. This wouldn't happen if she wasn't popular whoever she was partnered with.

It's like with Trent and Gordana -- I think if Gleb does any touring, it'll be with his wife. In fact, the week of Christmas -- well, right now, 23-27 December, he's appearing in Miami, with his wife Elena (and also with Tristan and a former DWTS star named Sabrina Bryan.) I can possibly see Gleb/Elena tour with another couple, the way Trent/Gordana toured with Robin/Kristina in "Puttin' on the Ritz" but I can't see Gleb taking on a new partner that isn't his wife.

There is no reason to think Aliona has any intent to organise a Tour.

Aliona was the reason I've gone to see one Tour - Brendan's. Brendan is good at doing everything to put a Tour together, and Aliona is a very good leading lady of a Tour.

Aliona has done the DWTS Tour, and Derek Hough and Maks Chmerkovskiy chose her to dance with them.

Aliona has also done the SCD Pro Tour with Matthew Cutler and has won 2 Strictly Live Tours so far, so she has a lot of experience of Tours and success on them.

She will have her own plans for the future.

Most pros would want to get a show running for a number of years, collect a regular audience, make the financing easier, but the female pros tend to have other life plans at that age. It certainly seems like the male dancers have easier career decisions.

True!

No female pro has run a Tour AFAIK.

People liking Aliona doesn't necessarily mean she can have a successful tour off the back of it - Karen and Kevin's tour was cancelled due to poor ticket sales, and theoretically he should have sold out theatres based on his popularity with Strictly fans.

Thanks for the info about K&K's failed effort (and declining numbers at Brendan's). I was beginning to wonder if there was no end to the interest in tours in the UK: Brendan's, Anton's, Flavia/Vincent's, Pasha's, Robin/Kristina's, Ian/Natalie's - plus the Strictly tour - it just sounds like a glut.

James brought up meeting with Arlene yet again about a tour for him and Ola - maybe after she's on CBB, they'll give it a go?

There is an element (small or otherwise) who dislike EVERY pro dancer ...apart from saint flavia apparently, but I daresay one or two of them will come forward...

As for aliona, according to reports all over the press today she wants to become a mum....going on tour after february would not seem high on her agenda then!

Not exactly true it was not KK's tour they were a small part of the flash mob dance tour involving all styles of dance including hip hop, contemporary amongst others and based around flawless from bgt

Think James said 2017 for their tour

Take That are thin on the ground - she should join them on tour.
