Music Predictions of 2016
Well following on from the fun thread for this year, let's try 2016.
I predict: Zayn Malik will release a smash R&B single early summer. Spice Girls will perform a one off TV special, but no tour. Sam Smith will attempt a dance track which will fail miserably. Cher will announce a permanent retirement from music. Christina Aguilera will actually have a successful hit single. Olly Murs will tour in the autumn, meaning he won't be available to present X Factor 😉. Beyonce will become pregnant again just as she releases a greatest hits album. Adele and Justin Bieber will dominate all major award ceremonies. Tina Turner will announce a UK tour which sells out in minutes. Reggie and Bollie will have a summer smash which creates a dance craze over Europe. |

Katy Perry will make a comeback, the media will make any song she releases be about Taylor's feud with her, resulting in her and us losing the will.
By April everyone will be sick of Adele who will be number 1 for the billionth week in a row with another sad song about something sad dominating the airwaves. Ellie Goulding will re-release her current album with a deluxe, deluxe deluxe and mega deluxe editions making fans storm her house with fire and forks. Bowie will receive great reviews for his new album with speculation of a tour rife. Rihanna will still be working on Anti in December 2016. Spice Girls reunion tour will flop as posh stays stony faced on the side-lines gleeful at her decision to stay out of it. |

Bruno Mars smashes it in 2016. After the success of Uptown Funk! and All I Ask (on Adele's album) his third studio album becomes one of the biggest selling of 2016, and the lead single is an instant classic that goes to #1 all over the world.
Katy Perry releases her new album in 2016 and again the lead single is a #1 success although the album itself isn't as successful as Prism. Adele's 25 ends 2016 as the UK's biggest selling album for a second consecutive year. Calvin Harris follows up his #2 hit How Deep Is Your Love? with a massive #1 hit topping the charts in the UK as well as Europe. The following songs will be big hits in the UK in 2016: Elle King - Ex's & Oh's Lukas Graham - 7 Years Matt Simons - Catch And Release (Deepend Remix) Mike Posner - I Took A Pill In Ibiza (SeeB Remix) Alan Walker - Faded A brand new England football anthem by a popular artist is released during the summer to co-incide with UEFA Euro2016 which tops the UK chart but plummets down the chart after England crash out in the semi finals....as per usual. London Grammar release their eagerly anticipated (by me at least) second album that tops the UK album chart and the lead single provides them with their first top 10 hit (yes, I predicted this to happen in 2015 so hopefully if i keep predicting this each year it will eventually come true!!! )

The following songs will be big hits in the UK in 2016:
Lukas Graham - 7 Years Here are my predictions: - Zayn Malik releases his first solo single which'll go straight to number one. His follow up will flop though, and he'll struggle to maintain momentum throughout the year. - Rihanna releases a couple more singles that don't really take off, and whilst her album will get to number 1, she won't have the kind of enormous success we're used to seeing her have. - Lady Gaga will release a new album. It won't be very good, and she'll continue to lose the massive star power she once had. - Beyonce will have a number 1 single. - Zara Larsson will have a big year. Lush Life will get into the top 5, and her follow up single will also be in the top 10. Any album she releases in the UK will get to number one. - The Last Shadow Puppets will release their 2nd album and it'll be a huge success. Number one in the albums chart, and huge waves across the rock/indie scene. - Charlie Puth's album will bomb. |

-Zayn will release an absolutely awesome pop/R'n'B song which will stay number one over the summer...and then fade into obscurity. His second single will scrape top 10
-Harry in the meantime will release a single in Autumn and it goes to number one and pushes everyone else to the background -Charlie Puth's album will debut around #8, but then a song will be featured on an advert and he'll take off massively -Taylor Swift will release an album for Christmas 2016, but it'll be all about being in love and happy and will be number one for Christmas -Olly Murs will be sacked from X Factor but pretend he was doing something else so couldn't do it anyway -One Direction will play one final time at the Brits -Jess Glynne will have another 87 summer smash hits that appeal to everyone -Justin Bieber will be arrested for something again and then bomb |

The charts will continue to suck. Idiots will blame it on streaming even though the charts have sucked for decades.

> Britney releases new single in January, album 9 in March. Does OK in the US but flops in the UK
> p!nk releases new album early-mid 2016, announces world tour for late 2016 into 2017 > Adeles album spends most of the year at #1 and the Brits will be like 'The Adele Show' > Cher will release a new 50th anniversary Greatest Hits album [really hope she tours for the last time but this seems unlikely] > The Spice Girls will reunite for something. Hopefully a tour but doubt Victoria will agree to it > Jessie J will release album 4. Does OK but doesnt really achieve much > Olly Murs will be fired from x factor but will be made out in the press he left to focus on his music, release album 5 next November and announces tour for 2017 |

*Like Loreen in 2012, the winner of Eurovision next year will have a massive UK hit with their winning song.
*Leona Lewis takes a hiatus from her pop career as she announces she is accepting a role in a west end musical. *Kiesza scores another UK #1 after a quiet 2015. *Kylie Jenner releases a surprise pop single under a stage name. *Louisa Johnson releases a critically acclaimed album, but it fails to shift more than 30,000 copies in its first week and quickly drops out of the charts. *And the most daring prediction of all........Adele sweeps the Grammys next year

I reckon some of the things already mentioned will happen:
-Beyoncé-greatest hits xmas 2016 -katy perry, new album but not half as successful as Prism -Adele first half year continuing with keeping at no 1 very often -Zayn Malik first single straight in at no1 Now first batch of my own predictions: -Miley Cyrus releasing an anthem like single with a crop of other female singers for a tba summer movie (not with her) , furthermore a quiet one -Nicky Minaj releases a greatest hits album -Madonna has a quiet year but releases a Greatest Remix album to keep the fans happy which stays at no 1 for one week -Sam Smith releases a new album which will be the 2nd best selling album of 2016 after 25, unlike Adele he changes direction with a Mark Ronson inspired sound and some dance singles -Black Eyed Peas return with a killer summer single that stays at no1 for 4 weeks -the charts continue to be extremely slow even if youtube views are included -Coldplay split up -some new not yet known pop tart that claims she is controversial starts her career with a no1 single and is the most talked about celeb until Dec2016 -Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris tie the knot, therefore not much music released by either from them, only another smash number 1 for calvin again with Ellie Goulding on vocals |

People become infuriated with the charts so everyone over 30 gets Spotify, and streams every song from October 1976 top 20, resulting in the October 2016 top 20 replicating the 1976 top 20. BBC do a special episode of Top Of The Pops to celebrate this, Rod Stewart and Chicago are among those who perform.

- Rihanna will finally release her album (if not in the last week of 2015). It will sell well but not have any more successful singles.
- Rihanna will appear at Glastonbury in some way (whether it's as a headliner or as a guest with someone like Coldplay) - Lady Gaga will come back and do pretty well. - Beyonce will come back and do really well. - Justin Bieber will dominate awards ceremonies - Adele will do that even more so. - Sam Smith will have a very quiet year - Little Mix will have a huge hit with 'OMG' - Azealia Banks will be arrested at least once - Ellie Goulding will start the year quietly but will then have a huge hit somewhere along the line - X Factor will be massively scaled down and will be the last series, going out quietly - The Voice won't produce a star. Again. - Syco won't really bother with Louisa Johnson and will continue pimping Fleur. - Lorde will come back with critical acclaim - There'll be a song that gets more than 10 weeks at number 1 thanks to streaming. |

- Rihanna to release Anti January 2016 as a surprise release
- 'Anti' to initally sell well for the first 2 weeks, but not be a big success, with any #1's - Adele to continue to rule the album chart for the next 6 months, not leaving the top 5 at all in the UK & US |

I think Jason Derulo will have 2 more huge singles from an upcoming album, he is the only other male singer who can keep up with Justin Bieber on the poppy front at the moment

I'm hoping Green Day release a new album in 2016. Whether they do or not is another matter!

I'm not a fan of Justin Bieber but his last album was actually surprisingly good with a cool dance influenced sound. Who would have thought! |
