Possibly the wrong thread to ask this in.

I only ask as he seems quite intimidating on the TV is he like that in real life, think if ever i had to meet him i might quake in my boots.

Or is he more affable if you are not working for him.

I accept he has an image i would like to think in real life situations he might be a little more less imposing.

Given Lord Sugar kept the same senior management team for 30 years or so, he must be very good to work for. Even in The Apprentice, Nick and Margaret were with him since Amstrad floated in 1980. Claude has been there for two decades. Of course, maybe the ones who don't like him don't hang around, or even sign up in the first place.

No thats very true i really admire the man but on the other hand wonder what he is actually like away from the spot light.

I like his attitude and get the feeling wether you like him or not you could get on well working for him and he does not like ar-e lickers far too pevellaint in todays society.

I like the way he made it from the bottom as a market trader right to the top, only his humanity is not always evident but that might be because we do not see that side him.

I don't know about that. He was pretty taken with Joseph.

Completely depends on the context of the meeting. Business-wise I'd say he's a bit of an arsehole if you don't know him, but in a light-hearted social setting I'd imagine he's good company.

he's 5"8 apparently which isn't that ridiculously small tbh, 5"9/5"10 being around average height

Thanks for that.

I've copy/pasted his last post on here and must say I am very impressed by it.

I have heard that there are concerns with the software on our SKY+ DRX-180 and DRX-280, and coming back to this forum after a long while, I am sorry to see that people are not happy. I would be very thankfull for someone who knows all the complaints to please list them in a email to me and copy one of my guys Brian Eaton

This is the real Sir Alan Sugar , those who folow this forum will know that. I am concerned about some of the issues on our SKY+ units as reported in this forum

Regards

Sir Alan Sugar

Yes, he's ordinary in real life and a decent bloke, kind. What you'd expect really. He is actually quite clever - I mean in an academic way - a lot of people don't realize that. His autobiography, which he wrote himself, ie not ghost written, gives a clue to his intellect. Worth a read.

The Junior Apprentice shows him in a different light, he is really nice to the youngsters, encouraging.

My mum knew his mum when they both lived in the same block of flats in the East End (which Sugar misspells in his autobiography), but I never met her or him, so not much of a claim to fame really.

And no, I didn't look in case anyone is asking

He always seems a bit Ben Kingsley in that way, always wants validation by being called Sir Alan, now Lord Sugar, I've always thought he was making up for his lack of 'ologies' at school,

Thanks i liked to think of him as a kind man and decent and i know he supports charities .

I know he is quite cleaver amazes me what he has done.

Will Give his autobiography a read did not know it was not ghost written he wrote it himself, yes that shows his intellect which i never ever doubted due to his achievements.Glad to hear in real life he is really nice to the youngsters on Junior Apprentice and encouraging.

I think Lord Sugar is a very decent man but sometimes that does not always shine through but thats life i guess and TV editing in particular .

My father knew him back when he had a shop in Willesden and Sugar was selling car ariels etc. He was, as I hear it, a colourful character, even then.

I've only seen him being driven around in his Rolls a few times.

Brilliant stuff!!!

Quite amusing going back through some of his posts defending his (apparently quite often) dodgy Sky boxes - both to see him give detailed responses and advice to folk personally (talk about hands on!), and occasionally lose his temper.

There's one where he says 'mate' - ooh that's very familiar over an internet forum, thought I. Next thing he says is basically if you're that upset with our Sky+ boxes push off back to VHS and enjoy that Classic Ser Alan!
