When did you vote in the final?

With all the discussion about who danced better on the night of the final, I think its relevant to ask - when (if at all) did you vote on Saturday?

One point I think has been overlooked, is that for all this talk of Kellie's showdance being supposedly so much better than Jay's, is that people could vote BEFORE any of the showdances - so were they even relevant? I know most people would already know how they were voting by that point, but I think its unfair to let votes be cast before the dancing has finished. If they have to do that, at least have the showdance first!

For the record, I voted when the first part had ended as I wanted to watch all the performances: I'd already chosen Jay as my favourite but wanted to enjoy the show and give everyone one last chance to change my mind. I did throw Georgia a single vote but almost didn't as I disliked her rumba, but soon remembered her many great routines that I enjoyed. I did vote for Jay a few more times again after Katie had been eliminated as well.

I've watched pretty much every show of every series and never voted once.

I find it an enjoyable entertainment show.
I don't really mind who "wins," as it doesn't matter that much.
It's the quality of the programme I think that counts and in that, it is the real "winner."

My wife voted for Jay as soon as the lines opened, because he was cute and sweet.

I only voted for voted for Jay during the final and I voted after his quickstep, after the Showdance and voted more because of the judges comments as I really liked it and thought it suited him really well and also voted after his Paso as well.

I also voted for Jay because not only was he the best dancer this year, gave the best dance in the Jive that we have seen on Strictly, I also relate to him as a person as well.

As I have always looked on the final as the culmination of 13 weeks dancing progression and not as the 'be all and end all', I had already made up my mind as to who I thought deserved to be the winner. Some people see it differently and feel that what happens in the final is everything.
I voted as soon as voting opened and continued to vote throughout the show.

I didn't really have a proper favourite throughout the series but towards the end of the final show, I voted for Kellie, loads. Out of the finalists, I found her performances, the most enjoyable.

For Jay after all dances, first time and second time. Just the free Bbc votes.

Me too.

I think if you don't have a favourite who has entertained you and made you fall in love with their dancing throughout the series, voting exclusively on the final makes sense. But if you have one that has captivated your imagination because of their dancing, I honestly don't see why you should change your mind on one night. (Though personally I actually preferred all Jays final dances more than I did Kellies, so even on finals dances I would have voted for Jay and maybe Georgia, if Jay had come fourth.)

As someone said in another thread, it all depends whether you think of strictly as a championship or a league. Personally, I always thought it was a league (it's about being the best through the season) with the weekly knockouts, so I was voting as soon as the lines opened.

First time the votes opened. I threw two votes at Katie as a (very) meager compensation for the crap she had to deal with from the judges, and one to Jay. Second time, I threw two at Jay, mostly because he was my favorite, though partly for the same reason I threw votes Katie's way, and one at Georgia.

I didn't vote nor watched the final as I felt deflated.
The final was an anti climax for me, it was a foregone conclusion Jay was going to win, all he had to do was just turn up.

I voted as soon as the lines opened, based on the couple I had enjoyed watching most over the series as a whole.

I voted as soon as the lines opened for the couple I thought deserved it as the better dancers over the whole series. I don't see the point in only judging on the final and completely disregarding the rest of the series. Even if I was just a casual viewer with no clear favorite my vote would have remained the same, at most for every few votes I gave Jay I may have thrown Georgia a couple, as I'm not a fan of the over the top gurning throw everything including the kitchen sink routines.

First time I voted about 8.10 going 2 Jay and 1 Katie.

Second time was after all free danced and went 2 Jay and 1 Georgia since that charleston was just amazing.

I didn't vote. I was out but watched the recording and that is why I was able to fast forward Kellie.

I voted for Jay online, six votes in all, and six on my landline.

He has been my favourite from week one, I couldn't stand Kellie, and was indifferent to Georgia, so I didn't need to see all the dances before making up my mind.

I voted after the first part ended. I felt Katie should be the eliminee. Once she went, I didn't mind who won, so didn't vote again.

Used my first three online votes, two for Georgia, one for Jay as soon as it opened, then the same again after the dances had confirmed my original thoughts.

I've never phone voted and don't expect I'll ever do the multiple paid-for votes like some people do.

At the end of part1, 1 each online for the 3 I wanted to make part2.

In the final part- online again, 2 votes for the winner and 1 for 2nd.
