so been looking to move from 3, im on the One Plan @ £20 per month and not been moved off it yet but should be soon i think, the most data i have used around in the last 2 years is around 4Gb.

im finding coverage not very good with 3 so thought id move over to biggest coverage of all, EE.

I own a LG G4 which is sim free so does not have the 3 software on so i cannot use VoLTE on it unless i flash the 3 ROM on it and root it make VoLTE work (as per XDA instructions), dont really want to root my phone. I do however use a home Signal Box with 3 but wifi calling should negate this yes?

I have seen this deal for a Sim Only on Mobile Phones Direct

£23.99 Inc. VAT per month / 12 months

6 GB Data
Unlimited Minutes
Unlimited Texts

+£168.00 cashback via redemption plus £10 quidco

I believe this includes wifi calling and double speed 4GEE too

makes it effectively £9.15 per month after cashback

will be looking to get a used LG G4 on EE network so i can utilise wifi calling and VoLTE (when and if available)

ive seen people get crazy deals via retentions, data of 10Gb - 20Gb for cheap monies but doubt they offer this to new customers

you think is a wise move?

wifi calling only works on EE supplied handsets, or iPhones I believe?

It's a good deal, as long as you can remember to submit the 5 cashback requests.

I never base anything on the cashback though, it's not guaranteed, so you have to be happy with paying the monthly cost for 12 months.

I just got this deal a couple of monhs back. Sim arrived already activated and I ported my number over without any issues.

I have a sim free iPhone so WIFI calling works fine. You seem to have done your homework as to which other handsets it will work with.

I've not reached the first cashback month yet but don't really anticipate any problems, Mobile Phones Direct have been going for over 20 years and are a very well established company.

thanks Ikegami, does your sim have double speed 4GEE too? it doesn't actually state it on MPD site but does state on EE when looking at the 6Gb sim only deal.

I got a similar deal 6 months ago from mobilephonesdirect, have had no problems with cashback so far, they approved my 2 submissions so far.

Just make sure you submit your bill on the correct months.

It is double speed as far as I can see, I've had speeds approaching 80Mb/s which I believe is above the 30 Mb/s cap of single speed.

I've not done any exhaustive speed tests but assume that double speed is included.

You are just using MPD as an agent to buy the sim and your contract is then directly with EE. You assumably then get whatever benefits are associated with that plan, the same as if you had bought directly from EE.

thanks, so after 12 months, do you renew with MPD or EE direct?

As far as I am aware, when your 12 months are up you are free to renew with EE directly, move or buy through anywhere else. I'd guess the MPD deal is for new customers only moving to EE so I don't know what the best option would be.

Maybe someone who has done it could comment - I'd be interested to know myself.

Im looking at making the same move for the same reasons however I'm still on the £15 version of the One plan.

I really don't want to give it up but 4G Super Voice hasn't helped me and I still have to rely on the Home Signal box which irks me.

I also have a legacy T-Mobile contract. Does anyone know if such a deal is accessible through already having an account with EE so as to bypass the cash back route.

Im thinking move from Three and also move from the old T-Mobile contract.

Whats the best people have seen to compare against Three's One plan?

Just phoned them up and they won't match the mobilephonesdirect price or even move from the web advertised offers.

just bought the above said sim only deal from MPD

managed to get my PAC painlessly via Three WebChat, told them i had a family member who worked for EE so i could get Friends and Family discount lol, he didn't try too hard to keep me although bet he was happy i was moving off a One Plan without a fight.

got them to send me a jiffy to return the home signal box as we never own them and they could charge you for it if not returned.

so now awaiting delivery of the EE sim which will most likely be next week due to the festive period.

this should save me £120 a year

I'm currently sim only Virgin, £12 month, unlimited texts and calls/3gb data. I'm fairly happy, but 4G and tethering are tempting me to this deal....

Same deal here, just ended.

Cashback was easy. I've moved to 20GB BT Mobile plan with £60 cashback and £30 amazon voucher.

I was paying EE £27.99 a month for Sim-Only 10GB and Unlimited Calls and Unlimited Texts. This was with cashback.

After mentioning ID Mobile's £15 deal for 10GB they knocked my bill down to about £21.99, and then a further 10%, making it £19.09. Persuaded me from moving elsewhere, saves the faff of cashback, and I can continue with tethering.

Was tempted by the other offers though...

I cancelled yesterday and they never offered me anything when I left.

BT will do!

Will ee offer reduced pricing as a new customer if you mention by mobile or will they say they have a premium service?

They seem to have discounts for existing customers, they won't be interested in reducing costs for new customers though.

Just posted this in another thread but may have been better here..

Current discount is £23.48 for 10GB Sim Only (for an additional line). I think this is valid until 12th Jan.

Im unsure if this is a "good" deal as far as EE is concerned or if I should wait to see what is offered later in Jan?

Anyone got any experience on EE deals? I called retentions etc and they wouldn't budge on data allowance or price regarding the above. I couldn't get the £21.99 or cheaper

Im still 50/50 on if I should move from my £15 Three AYCE contract or keep trying to get it a bit cheaper...

Do the sim only plans have the eu roaming included like the pay monthly with a phone? It doesn't state it on the website so I am guessing not.

Just seems odd to not include it...

Thanks for checking.

That and making 20GB available to only handset plans is what they want I guess.

Yeah, I got mine down to £19.09 but that was only because I was leaving... bit different with a second line I guess.
