Purchase Concerns

Hi,

I bought a mobile from a business seller on eBay. 91 feedbacks, 100% postive.

This is for an xmas day gift, so I can't really open it as yet.

It was advertised as brand new. It's arrived and the box is spotless, but the original samsung seal has been slit and replace with the sellers own 'if removed, no returns' sticker.

I have asked the seller why, but I keep being told to return it if not happy and that it is brand new and never used.

I did a 'mendcheck' which checks the history of the phone via the serial and imei number which is on the box - everything was clear.

I'm probably just being paranoid, but would you all keep the phone? I'm tempted to check the contents, however it'll mean removing the sellers stickers - something of which will be done on Xmas Day anyway.... grrr help?!

Thanks

hi, i thought your covered under ebay/paypal protection anyway so if your not happy you can return it within 14 days,

For you all you know the seller could put a brick inside the box ( i hope not though!)

Perhaps he has opened the box to put in a UK Charger?. Its not unusual for non franchised businesses to buy stock outside of the UK in order to get a better price, but it would mean them opening the box to remove the supplied EU style charger and replace it with a 3 pin UK type.

I've bought phones and mifi's before now where the original seal has been removed but its still been brand new (as far as I could tell), there are genuine reasons for it, such as what I described above, or if they need to unlock it to use any network before sale.

I think they unlocked it. When I turned the phone on, it bypassed setup.
