It's Christmas!!! Let's make a fresh start here.

"It is Christmas Day on a remote human colony, and the Doctor is hiding from Christmas carols and comedy antlers. But when a crashed spaceship calls upon the Doctor for help, he finds himself recruited into River Song's squad and hurled into a fast and frantic chase across the galaxy. King Hydroflax is furious, and his giant robot bodyguard is out of control and coming for them all! Will Nardole survive? And when will River Song work out who the Doctor is?"

Moffat. Capaldi. Kingston. Bahhhh....

Nah, I'm looking forward to it! Looks like a lot of fun from what I've seen/heard. We will see if it's any good. That's not the royal "we", by the way.

No need when it's only 2 days before, as it is a perfectly reasonable time compared with how early they have been being started this year. Would be nice if it didn't take a mess up and accident's for it to happen in future though, and people could always wait until this close to the episode or less to start it.

Anyway, looking forward to the episode. Seeing River and 12 seems like it will be a lot of fun, and hopefully the plot will be engaging too.

Despite loving Series 9, loving Capaldi, loving Alex Kingston and River Song I'm not too hyped for this. I think I'll miss Clara, and the whole thing doesn't look too good. But then I thought last years didn't look too good and I ended up loving it - so I'll reserve judgement

On an unrelated note, I've noticed a totally irrelevant pattern - all Doctor's first Christmas specials must use the word "Christmas" in the title...
The Christmas Invasion
A Chrismas Carol
Last Christmas

...and all Doctor's second Christmas specials must make a marital reference in the title...
The Runaway Bride
The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe
The Husbands of River Song

...a completely pointless anecdote for 4:40am

Yay for five options with an average in the middle... nicely balanced! Thank you!

Thanks Bej.

Well, I'm hoping it will be really good and lighten the tone after the main series. All the signs, portents and auguries look good to me.

I've always liked River Song and the sparks should fly between her and 12.

So, following that trend, the next Christmas special (whichever Christmas that turns out to be) will be called:

The Doctor's Christmas Wedding

I wouldn't be surprised if it were discreetly omitted, this time.

They might just go "The Doctor Will Return."

I don't mind 7 but 5 is the usual number and the least likely to be complained about!

As long as the Doctor's last line isn't, "...and somewhere else the tea is getting cold. Come on, we've got work to do"

Very likely, if they do anything. Of course "...in 2016" would be accurate, though!

It'll end with this...

"Want more Doctor Who in 2016?

Well Forget It!

Merry Christmas from Steven Moffat"

Of course, they could say that, not make or broadcast any DW in 2016, but then set a story in 2016 and they'd not be lying.

Cheer up for goodness sake. If watching Who is so awful for you why do you bother?
