Well I enjoyed it as a Dr Who related side story. And a sweet happy ending for Xmas day.

Enjoy it for what is was.

That was rather good. Really enjoyed that and I believe it wraps up River's story very well.

That was just bloody awful. And to think ten years ago we had The Christmas Invasion...

I liked it, not as much as last year's one (no Nick Frost for starters).

I know some people don't like River, but I've liked her stories.

No hint of who the next companion will be, which is a shame.

Well, it brought the Dr/River story full circle so that wraps that bit up I suppose.

Looks like we're definitely not getting Series 10 in 2016

As with most Moffat episodes, I have no idea what the plot was even about. But River worked so, so much better with Capaldi than any other doctor - they were great to watch together.

A typically light-hearted story tinged with an unexpectedly emotional finale...I enjoyed it.

Was a little shoddy at first and trying too hard with the humour in my opinion, but it did get a lot better and that ending was beautiful. River a little cheesy as always but she works a lot better with Capaldi (who you can't really go wrong with).

I love how it all fit into the Silence in the Library two-parter. Moffat spoiled the episode for us seven and a half years in advance. :P

thought it was fantastic, was good to see river back. Shame it looks like it will be the last time she appears on screen , still have the Big Finish audios to enjoy

I am glad that River got her sonic screwdriver and i thought the ending was lovely

loved the sign on the Tardis at the beginning

carol singers will be criticised

Pretty much what I would have expected a final Christmas outing for Moffat to be. The wine helped, but we enjoyed it enough.

Incidentally, a Merry Christmas to you all. Enjoy the bickering until the next episode. I look forward to watching it.

I enjoyed it as a one off, I thought River was ok, i'm not generally a fan of hers so wasn't expecting much, it was ok though.

Well, what a load of Scrooges. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Christmas episodes are never meant to be taken that seriously and I thought ths one was the best in years.

Liked the restaurant booking: "Not a problem".

During the last series the usual suspects sometimes said "this is the worst episode ever" after only 5 minutes and then kept saying it repeatedly until (and even after) the end of the episode

We've got a lot of Doctor Who go watch until it does return.

It was alright, much preferred last years with Santa if truth be told

I don't get the River hate, personally me and the family enjoy every episode she is in, just kinda wish this started a bit faster or had 5-10 minutes shaved off of it.

Probably give it a 7/10

I usually don't mind the lighter Xmas specials but this one was seemed rather all over the place to me. First time I've rated anything on the really poor end of the scale, very disappointing

Lots of "dramatic action" aka shaky camera to disguise a pretty low budget episode I reckon. Audio levels were awful, found it hard to enjoy when the music \ background noise is drowning out the dialogue or the characters are mumbling quickly.

The whole headless thing wasn't necessarily a great idea either, who thought that one up?

This was exactly what I expected it to be.

The way I see it, if you like River and enjoy a good bit of silly Christmas fun then it's great, and I enjoyed it, lots of laughs.

Nothing serious, complicated or overly sensible. Just the kind of crazy, light-hearted fun with River Song you'd expect at 5pm on Christmas Day.

Just brilliant ... OH and I were totally silent (apart from the giggles) for the full hour. I never had a problem with River Song and found Greg and Matt played their parts well. As always, the core of the episode was Peter Capaldi and his perfect touch and timing. So many laugh out loud moment, with that powerful, emotional ending the perfect foil. Certainly one of the best Christmas Specials.

Best Christmas episode in a long time. I could see why people wouldn't like it though if they weren't a fan of River.
