Not really

Actors get replaced all the time.

No they wouldn't.

What you've written makes no sense.

There is zero problem with the actress. SO they dub over some of her scenes WITH HER OWN VOICE. It happens in dramas and films all the time. Its no big deal.

She's a little girl with Downs syndrome and will 'act' like a little girl with Downs . Just like april and arthur etc she will possibly not get things right sometimes and might need a little bit of help IF dubbing was used . I don't think it was .
She was adorable tonight and just as good as the other child actors in the scenes with her . I think she's fab .

I agree - she does a great job dubbing or not. Janet was as good as the other children in tonight's show. I think she's wonderful.

BiB sometimes they do this as a way of adding 'pickup' lines to a scene, i.e. some information they realise they never got across, or they cut it from another scene and placed it elsewhere. They do it in films and TV shows. It seems 'disembodied' because they obviously can't show the actor's face at the time because they never originally said it in the scene!

Btw I don't think dubbing Janet is 'insulting' in any way. What would be insulting is if they recast her as not Down's or someone with very mild Down's, cause that wouldn't be staying true to what they'd already established.

It would have been insulting if it was dubbed in using another actress' voice. But I am satisfied that it is the actress' own voice - recorded in a studio then dubbed over. It is not always done like this, just from time to time.
