It's much the same as yesterday down here, some thin high cloud but definitely a sunny day so far. Temperature has reached 20 deg C by noon, warmest of the year here.

Wind direction has a greater effect on maximum temperatures than cloud amounts hereabouts, compared to places much further inland. There's been a nice (for us) E/ENE component today but that could veer towards the south if a bit of a sea breeze reaches here and if so, it will halt the climb.

High cloud has now thinned out considerably here, and the blue is predominant. Light SE breeze, and just checked temperature, bang on 20C at 12:19pm.

What's your humidity like today?

18c here in Cheshire; part sun , part cloud, but the wind has shifted to light south-easterly so thoroughly pleasant at the moment. Pressure 1010mb, humidity 30%.

Spring has been a bit late in these parts due to winter being be a bit crackerdog but there is a bonus that I’m quite pleased with,…my lawns.

They were a little slow to kick-off but they are in tip-top condition, which is surprising so early in the season. No moss whatsoever to deal with which is highly unusual, especially as Winter was so wet.

Hope the bedding plants do well this year;…the past few years have been v.disappointing to say the least.

If we can hang onto this temperature throughout May all will be bloomin’ marvellous in the flower beds this summer.

Around 45%, somehat higher than yesterday afternoon. Thicker patchy high cloud has drifted over now so it's 'bright or sunny', 20.9 max to date.

Well there was wispy cloud that became a bit more covered later in the evening but not before I'd recorded a high of exactly 23.0c briefly, which I fully expect to be beaten on one of the next couple of days this weekend.

Looks like tomorrow could be a belter of a day !

Good sunny spells and widely into the mid 20's across England and Wales. Even warm in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Should I start a 'It's too hot' thread ready?

No, because it's not too hot.

Terrific difference between South and North temperature wise, today. England and Wales, very warm. Scotland and Northern Ireland, distinctly cool - link

Hint of something thundery developing in the M4 corridor area right now.

Home grown thunderstorms kicking off right now in the Midlands!

Wind has backed from ENE to S-SE in S Hants, hence cooler air similar to a sea-breeze off the Channel and a temperature drop from a peak of 22.3 at 12:30pm to 19.1 right now. Dry and pleasantly warm with a lot of thin high cloud down here but increasing humidity at 63% now.

After a lovely morning and lunchtime its clouded up a little, and feels pretty humid.

Interesting comparing our weather with Spain this weekend, which is cool and wet - I have some friends in Madrid this weekend who were very unlucky with their timing!

Thunderstorms have been rapidly breaking out in the past hour across central England, with one just to the north west of my location which I can hear rumbling away. Some very intense torrential rain on the radar too. The speed with which they developed was quite a surprise. An hour ago there was nothing. There is a warning for 2pm until 10pm of thunderstorms in the middle part of England and maybe Wales, with the potential for strong sudden winds and possible flash flooding causing disruption to the unlucky ones in the path of these storms. Others may stay dry and nice all day. But here it is very dull, grey and ominous looking, and a brief sharp burst of rain/hail has just hit.

Been totally rotten here in N.I all day, It hasn't stopped raining since I got up and its cold 10/11c Also noticed that the predicted heatwave for Monday Tuesday seems to be getting less and less. At the start of last week it was predicted 22/23c now its down to 18/19c come Monday probably be about 17c

Blitzortung

Shows where the current lightning is (no pun intended )

As I've been looking at this, I think new storms are breaking out.

Cloudy here this afternoon in North London, it's been a great few days with the weather. We're having our second bbq of the year this evening.

I think I'm safe for a dry and decent evening now and expect the sun to break through any moment. The storms have all migrated north to north west and there appears little likely to develop further behind that lot.

South Cheshire.

Has been beautiful all day 23 degrees
Now it is very puthery and cloudy.
Son has put up a large awning on the back lawn and gone out and left it up.
Rain doesn't look to far away.
Oh dear

Stayed nice and sunny here all day

You're right they are migrating North West and there is no development in the rear of the present crop.

Lots of thunder rumbling around in my location (West Midlands) and the skies have gone dark but no lightning or rain - yet.

Watching the Leicester match and it was hammering it down during the first half, looks better there now.

Yes, I think one of the storm cells hit Leicester smack on, earlier.
