Well, all weekend in Wigan it has been cracking the flags.. 20 minutes of rain last night but it was still almost unbearable at night, hardly got a wink and was sleeping downstairs (usually hotter upstairs), over the covers in my boxers. Hope it does continue, gonna have to get my fans out though!

It's 23c and very humid and hazy. I hate this type of weather.
Yep same here in NI

Gorgeous here in the West Midlands, sunny and warm, much better than last week!

Sunday at mine was much cooler than I expected, it only peaked at 21.1c, bang on 70f.

Today has hit 24.7c, and the humidity has clearly soared as I took a short gentle cycle ride of under 2 miles in just a shirt and when I stopped I was dripping sweat.

Now it's just a question of storm watching and wondering who's getting a direct hit tomorrow.

Interesting... or it would be, if only they knew what it will mean for our weather!

But they don't.

Well after the warmest day of the year yesterday in N.I we had a night of thunder storms and torrential rain which seemed to last 2-3 hours. This morning cloudy and muggy. 18c already outside.

Very interesting. We will see what effect it has.

Meanwhile, yesterday was absolutely superb, and today looks likely to be the same, but I suspect an increasing risk of thunderstorms.

You suspect rightly Blueblade - I've just come in and I'm drenched through to my boxers, even though I had an umbrella up and had only walked a short distance home.

A massive storm has taken a direct hit on Newport Pagnell, with some spectacular forked lightning bolts to earth, some a bit close for comfort. Very angry looking grey clouds lurking menacingly, so far having dumped 23mm of rain in just over an hour. Some flash flooding on the local roads, even the paths were flowing water as I came home. Quietening down a bit at the moment, but still rumbling away.

My area seems to have had a couple of direct hits lately, which is unusual, it's normally us that misses these things!

That one is a beaut, and is now heading North Westwards towards sort of Northampton - Rugby - Nuneaton - Tamworth. South East and central Midlands kind of area, and spreading East and West from those, what look like central geographical points. With the humidity the way it is, I don't think the storms, wherever they are, will be in any hurry to die out overnight.

Yes, you've had quite a few in Bucks so far this year. Good ones, too.

Tuesday 7th June 2016 has now ended and I've recorded 34mm of rain at my location, all since 4pm today. I'm willing to bet that will make the day just gone the wettest of the entire year for me, and it also makes it into the top ten of wettest days I've ever recorded. I would never have believed it when I left the house this morning in warm sunshine, a thin shirt and sunglasses.

Warmest day of the year down here, S Hants, by some margin. Missed all the showers and most of the cloud, no rain, no sea breeze, nothing to stop the heat. It reached 26.1 deg C, a fraction below the UK's warmest place, in Hull of all places!

It's now down to 16.7 degrees but humidity is up to 84% and rising. Phew what a scorcher!

Temperature hit 25.7c here mid afternoon before the storm struck but plunged a full 10c to just 15.4c during it.

Humidity is currently a very uncomfortable 92%.

I have been watching an interesting weather feature over the last couple of hours. A fairly intense area of rain with thunder mixed in was crossing S. London about 4pm heading south towards us in Crawley. It got about as far as the M25 and gradually fizzled out so that by the time it got here it was just a light drizzle.

I suppose this was an effect caused by the air mass dropping down the escarpment of the North Downs.

Another storm developed just after lunchtime not too many miles away from me yet again, making me think I'd get a repeat performance of yesterday. Could hear rumbling in the distance and dark cloud, but luckily this bunch of heavy rain and thunder managed to keep just to the south and west of Milton Keynes by a few miles and never troubled us this time before edging northwards.

London and Birmingham have been directly affected, with Birmingham looking to be getting a good soaking as I write, although much of the thundery activity has petered out now across the UK..

bad news is that from saturday onwards its just normal westerly unsettled weather right through the heart of june.

nice in the sunny periods but there will be a lot of cloud around with rain and showers, much cooler temps.

Totally thunder free now. No lightning whatever in the UK.

Lightning? thunderstorms? showers? What's all that about?

We've had 8 consecutive days of no rain here in my part of S Hants, and a total for the month of 0.8 mm, all on the 1st.

Could do with some really, before the grass turns brown!

Outbreak of thundery activity over the North Midlands, North West England and parts of North Wales right now. Not entirely a surprise. Despite cloud in many areas, it's warm and close, with temperatures widely 22 - 23 degrees, even under the cloud.

Is it my imagination or have the forecasters at the BBC made a rather big error with this weekend's weather? Last week and right up until Thursday we kept being told that it would become far fresher on Friday with a noticeable difference. Except it hasn't. Early Sunday morning and it is as clammy as ever, with 86% humidity and a temperature of 16.1c currently at 3am. Some areas on both Friday and Saturday have continued to have very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms - not my area this time thankfully, after our Tuesday deluge. But a very large area of southern and eastern England is under a yellow weather warning during Sunday for further storms and torrential downpours.

The fresher conditions taking the storms away have simply not arrived as indicated on Friday. It seems like a noticeably significant forecast error to me.
