Quite liked the Middle Class Jeremy Kylie sketch

One of the better sketch shows around IMO. I laughed a lot!

I enjoyed most of it, the first two sketches were the worst but from then on it improved and the middle class Jeremy Kyle drew the most laughs from me.Where was Whitehall's dad? Too busy booking Havers panto appearance?

I actually thought the way Whitehall's character spoke when saying "I'm better than you" was the intentional way some youngsters choose to speak when trying to be cool. Borrowed from rappers, I think, Not a class or regional thing.

Or was that not what was being referred to?

I thought the first show with Joanna Lumley last Christmas was brilliant but this one was not so good.

Mostly, the chemistry of double acts needs to be built up over time so the format of this show will always struggle to work.

No actual belly laughs but OK half hour.

I loved it and thought it was very funny. It was great to see Jack playing some different characters too.

the blind date spoof was OK.

I was waiting for a twist in the Sherlock sketches as well. I thought these sketches were funny but I was waiting for the answer to what Dr Watson was actually doing not to be the obvious answer.

The Sherlock, Dating Game, Celebrity Slammer and Middle-Class Jeremy Kyle sketches were the best ones for me. The first "I'm Better Than You" sketch went on too long and the pay off was rubbish.

I thought Jack was really good but as someone further up thread suggested I think it would work better if all the 'friends' were mixed up in every episode rather than having one single friend per episode. That kind of thing only works if they are an established double act who always work together.

I thought it was pretty funny, it was certainly watchable.

There's much, much worse on television. I'll be watching next week.

Well, I didn't think this could get worse, but this week's effort was cringeworthy. Laboured, unfunny sketches that went on far too long.

bits of it are SOOOOO bad it reminds me of the effort James Corden and Matthew Horne made at a comedy sketch show. e.g. the diy store telly advert ... just absolute sh1te.

I think the show is terrible, Walliams is just not funny, i don't know how this even made it on to our screens.

First episode I've seen of this series. Some sketches were okay. Laughed at the Jeremy Kyle one. Didn't see what was so funny about the lechery over elderly ladies, found that a bit uncomfortable tbh.

Despite the sad context, the day's clips from Fawlty Towers made me smile much more than this fourth-form tat.

Rather like when you watch "Early Doors" or "The Fast show" you suddenly realise which of the two was actually the funny one.

I found it ok. Some good laughs, certainly there's a lot that doesn't work but I just put that down to the subjectivity of humour. I just wish Walliams would resurrect "Les" from his GamesWorld days for a one off...

I found the last episode with Jack Whitehall so unfunny but thought this one with Harry Enfield was very good. Loved that they both took the piss out of themselves.

????
Early Doors was a sitcom. Fast Show a sketch show.
Both very funny.

Dossa and Joe

written by Caroline Ahearn as a solo project

Harry Enfield did a dismal sketch show series for SKY,
and also "Celeb" sitcom about a rock star at home

My point was about successful writing / performing teams, where the better known partner's solo projects do a lot worse than the less well known partner's new shows

I loved Little Britain and I generally quite like Walliams on Has Britain got Talent - not riotously funny, not even as funny as he thinks he is but does a good deadpan and can be fairly amusing.

Was a bit miffed I had missed the first couple of episodes so was really happy to catch last nights. Until five minutes in when I realised it was, and would continue to be, terrible.

I stuck it out to the end hoping it would get funny. But it didn't

So disappointed.

Do you mean the Nigel Planer debacle?

I chuckled throughout, so thumbs up from me. Morgana's always a bonus....particularly liked her shaky handed 'Home Fix' advert woman. And 'Arts Wipe' was great, with Harry and David taking the p*ss out of themselves. Enjoyable stuff from the not bald "unfunny" one and Friend.

I thought comedy was supposed to be funny but I didn't see anything remotely amusing. Walliams must really have something on the head of BBC one to keep getting his dross put on tv. There was an ad earlier on in which a guy was watching paint dry and after five minutes of this I suddenly found myself jealous of him.

Nope

It was called "Celeb"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0334838/...nm_flmg_act_38

It was so forgettable it does not even have it's own wikipedia entry.

It was based on the Private Eye cartoon about "Gary Bloke" an aging rock star and his outrageous behaviour when he is not touring.

Unfortunately "The Osbournes" also started airing with the real antics of a rock star and his family .
