Why does he keep reloading his shotgun?

Seem so a bit slow tonight, not the usual rapid fire gags that you usually get on this show.

Doesn't really have the same feel. Disappointing.

Probably cos it's shot on location and appears to be a 30 min plot stretched to 45 mins.

Why not just watch it instead of posting messages about it while it's on??? What's happened to people's powers of concentration?

I'm only posting because it's not keeping my attention. I don't usually post through programmes I'm enjoying.

Thats sort of how the TV forums work. You comment as it goes on.

And you are so riveted but you still post?

There is a lot of outrage on Twitter about this episode, not just that it isn't the usual level of funny.

One being that it is too dark a plot for Christmas Eve, secondly some are saying it is inappropriate considering recent news events.

I'd only considered the 'it isn't the usual level of funny' part of that up to now.

That has been poor stuff. Will be quickly forgotten.

This has been rubbish. It feels like we're watching Lee Mack fulfil his dream of playing John McClane than Not Going Out.

It's jumped the shark, hasnt it. What a shame. Just like OFAH. It was resolved, but they carried on.

Not really smart to portray a hostage situation and a mad gunman with everything that's gone on recently, especially on Christmas Eve.

I don't accept that as an argument at all. It's obviously not to be taken seriously.

When is the magic date when we can forget all about Paris and these plots are acceptable again?

Seems in bad taste a little over a month after Paris attacks and in the same week the British victim was laid to rest. Jekyll and Hyde was postponed twice due to news events just seems weird this was not.

On a action film, shown late at night, on Channel 5, probably a short time.

On a show that is usually known for being very light and slapstick, scheduled on Christmas Eve of all days, and on BBC1, probably a much longer time.

That's nonsense. If we go down that route, all TV/film footage featuring airplanes or bombing should be paused until the Syrian operation is over so bye bye to Top Gun for a few years at least. Or is it only deaths in France that count and if BBC One is more sacred than Channel 5, what about ITV? Somewhere in the middle?

I usually dislike the "PC gone mad" bunch but I'm completely on their side on this one.
