That's odd. The press release seems to have been taken down or moved elsewhere.
They just modified the url is all. Now http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/lat.../not-going-out

The series was great but last year's Christmas Special was absolutely abominable. Surprised it's coming back.

At least once before, they axed it only to change their minds. They probably won't want to do that again so will let Lee see the series out. That's what he seemed to be alluding to in that press release.

I believe it's supposed to be returning on Friday 13th January.

Indeed, 21.00, BBC1! Hope Lee's not superstitious!

Series 2-5 were definitely the funniest. I think the show lost something when Tim Vine left, however, I'm pleased it's coming back.

I posted this in the ratings thread earlier. Some ratings for Not Going Out:

Overnight ratings*
Highest-rated in a series in bold

Consolidated ratings*:

* Some episodes were delayed in parts of the UK; hence the consolidated ratings (which exclude opt-outs) are in some cases lower than the overnights (which include opt-outs)

Hopefully, it might be quite steady and funny. I wouldn't say it was the best modern day sitcom that has been created.
