Even though it took a while I thought Pam meeting Christine was one of those classic EE moments.

I haven't been impressed with many storylines this year but I enjoyed Jenny Bradley's return, parts of the paedophile storyline in hollyoaks and the Mercedes stillbirth storyline. |

All the "he's not the real father" ones in all the soaps
Off topic but can anyone remember who else it was that gave birth in the middle of the nativity play? Sure I'd seen that before |

The better done of them all in my opinion was the Laurel alcoholism story. Perfect pacing and the actress killed it from start to finish, so unseen from her usual stories.
Valīs exit was fantastic with one great homage after the other, stating with her fabulous death scene. Love my Aaron and his stories. But continuity has not been by his side this year thanks to teh writers and how far they took the Robron thing. Now I canīt stand Robert. The week of the reveal was amazing though, with the usual outstanding performances. Lately Iīve liked the Chasī PTSD. |

My highlights have been
- Emmerdale helicopter crash/Val's death - Chas' breakdown - Deirdre's death, especially as Anne died for real - Tim and Sally finally getting married because I love them as a pairing - Shabnam's stillbirth - Nancy and Tamwar getting together. Cute couple. |

I only watch EastEnders, but I really enjoyed Live Week - 'Hello Phil' knocked my head off, even if Kathy's comeback ended up being a non-starter.
I've also enjoyed Nancy and Tamwar's burgeoning relationship, Kat at the convent, Pam finding out about Les and Christine, Shabnam's stillbirth, Max's trial (as crazy as it was when he escaped custody), the growth of Mick and Shirley's mother/son relationship, and the general lightening of the Carters. |

Not sure about storylines but one of my favourite episodes of the year was Bernice and Lawrence's wedding in Emmerdale.
My favourite moment of the year though was Denise's face after Lucy slapped her in Eastenders. Lucy realised she made a big mistake very quickly. |

Emmerdale's Helicopter Crash
LIVE week in EastEnders Kathy's comback in EE too, could've been better but she's slotted in so well Kat receiving Harrys money, burning it, attempting suicide then visiting the convent was a really good storyline for her. It also provided an amazing episode too. I must say I did enjoy the McQueens abuse storyline in Hollyoaks. Apart from when Pete got run over the storyline has been brilliant start to finish, has provided some amazing scenes/episodes and has been well acted as a whole. If only they could do that on a continuous basis. |

On Emmerdale, I thought Alicia's assault storyline was really good. Also Laurel's alcoholism was cracking stuff.
I enjoyed all of Robert's deceptions, especially when Cain abducted him, and then Andy finding out about him killing Katie, though ending it as a daft whodunnit let it down quite a bit. Liked the Lawrence/Bernice relationship and wedding. And now, I'm finding Ashley's storyline very good. |

ED
1. Laurel's alcoholism - beautifully done, brilliantly paced, Charlotte Bellamy was incredible as per usual, it truly showed the effect an alcohol addiction has and involved so many of the cast. It was a phenomenal storyline and if doesn't win awards I will be hugely disappointed. 2. Val's death - The mirror scenes with her and Diane were lovely to watch, sentimental, funny and full of history. Her return as part of Eric's imagination was also wonderful. And then of course Eric's grief (hope Chris gets some awards for this) culminating in last night's episode which was beautifully handled 3. Ashley's dementia - What we've seen so far is very promising and emotional, John Middleton is ED's best actor imo and he's doing a great job. Also glad him and laurel have been reunited, it will make it even more heartbreaking. (just a shame they've recast Gabby )4. Alicia's assault - once again great writing and acting. Other mentions to Pearls gambling addiction, Bernice and Lawrence, Ruby's death and the Vanessa baby stuff. The stuff I haven't enjoyed is anything to do with Debbie, Ross, 'Robron', Jai, the Zak and Joanie affair and Paddy's affair. I actually can't think of a single story line I've enjoyed this year in corrie, it's been very disappointing. |

Rob's slow, awful but terribly accurate chipping away at Helen, and isolating her from her family and friends. Although to be fair the emotional abuse storyline has been going on for more than a year. It has been so subtle that few people noticed it to start with.

pearl's gambling addiction earlier this year. I know it was a small storyline but I really enjoyed it.
