Never learn, do they!

Makes a change from the sleazy male client who wants Michelle/Maria/Alya to flash a bit of flesh to clinch the deal.

I can't believe his relationship with Gail is still fractured, yet he happily bonds with Andy, as if he did nothing wrong!
It wouldn't be so bad if there had been a resolution between notgavin and his notfather, but for Michael to simply brush off the horrible, awful thing he did without explanation is ridiculous.

So Devrica are now an item, merely on Mary's say so?
Where did this burning passion suddenly come from? Probably me not paying attention again, but I found the seduction scene in the Rovers crackers.
What next, Liz holding a sleepover for the 'girls' and Mary, hair in pigtails, declaring "We don't got cooties."?
Gail, sporting a pink wig, could unravel, a la Frenchie, a roll of ex-husbands photos instead of G.I. penpals before Liz has a go at ear-piercing.
Other posters have referenced the Grease connection; it's lazy writing and not funny, to boot.

How she's treated for it depends on how severely she has it and whether or not she was having a flare up when she was filming. It's possible that she was taking a high dose of corticosteroids, one side effect of which is a "moon face", to settle it down again. So I wouldn't criticise her looks.
Who the hell criticised her for having a 'moon face'? Or even mentioned that?

I criticised her (or strictly speaking the character) for changing her appearance from someone who is not usually unattractive to someone looking tarty and muttony. Which according to the writers is an instant turn on for blokes.

Criticising everyday sexism at its best. Nothing to do with the actress's medical condition (which incidentally was news to me.)

It was mentioned that she'd been botoxed to hell or words to that effect, when it could be her medical treatment affecting her face. Making comments like that are wrong because the poster probably wouldn't know if a medical condition is responsible.

There are many articles on the web about Claire having RA including a brief comment from her on the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society web site:

It's your thread and you are the boss

I love it but lately it's getting personal and way off topic. It would be awful to see it being closed.

Not by me it wasn't. (Is there a shrugging smiley? If not there should be)

And even if her having RA had been displayed on a billboard in Trafalgar Square it doesn't follow I've read it!

I get the impression you could start an argument in a phone kiosk tbh.

And WHS/WSS!

Anyway back to to the SORs. If the O'Driscools are so utterly terrifying and kept Marta their slave with threats of violence toward her family, doesn't it follow if she buggered off they'd have done something by now?

You did say she looked like a raddled old tart and someone else said she looked like she'd been botoxed to hell or words to that effect.

I do get very annoyed when there are personal remarks about an actor. It's the characters they play and story lines that should be discussed. But I'm obviously in a minority in not liking or want to make personal remarks about a real person.

It's a ridiculous sl. Marta has been gone weeks and they have done nothing!

The writers probably forgot as they rushed it out to write up another "issue" based storyline, and have just remembered they haven't finished the slavery one yet.

But by quoting me when you went off on one about insensitivity towards Clare King as a person, it's not beyond the realms of impossibility I read that as a criticism of what *I* said

And I just said she looked like an old tart. Which she did! That's nothing to do with the actress's face but down to the costume and make up people who obviously thought she looked like a sex siren or something.

Anyway, moving on...

She did indeed look like a tart. The character that is, not the actress.

biggest sor in all tv is nobody turns lights on, the whole house / set is lit up in all the rooms, the dont go into their dark kitchen and put the lights on.

and when they do, they flick one switch, and all the lights come on, even the table lamps plugged into a three pin socket

When Leanne came into the Bistro and said that she "didn't work there any more" Robert decided that he would kick Tracey out, give Leanne "table duty" for the night and told Andy to "take a break now" - am presuming that's when he went to the Rovers? Andy had mentioned that he had not had a break for 10 hours so maybe was on a day shift/split shift/double shift - probs having an hour off at least?
Yes and when did Robert assume command at the Bistro? Leanne is a manager. He's just the chef!

I'm looking forward to that. Of course Mary will be Sandy and Liz will be Rizzo.

Indeed. You noticed?

Always here defending and taking offence on behalf of the actor.

Our exchanges.

But then there is Erica all done up for Dev. Liz and Erica are only a whisker away from looking like drag queens.
I usually think Clare King is quite attractive but she looked like a raddled old tart tonight.
She's not bad looking but a face full of fillers and and an OTT makeover didn't help.
Nothing there to have hysterics about.

The character's make-up was completely OTT. As for Claire King, whenever I've seen her on TV and read about her, she seems like an exceptionally nice woman. It is a shame she has problems. But there's no certainty she has been prescribed drugs that give her a fuller face. All we can comment on is what we see on Corrie.

Where is the post about Erica and botox?

This is an honest request janet. For a period of time you started to lighten up and write humorous posts which I enjoyed immensely. It appears you are going back to the confrontation style. Please start to soften a little, it wont diminish your principles any. The same principles which I and a lot of other posters admire. Thank you janet.

Do what I did - reluctantly - use the ignore list.

It helped me to stay with a thread which was becoming waaaaay too heavy!

I dont think she has been botoxed at all. Liz, Carla, and Michelle...possibly.

No no. She was a raddled old tart in the sense that the outfit was meant to make her look irresistible, but it made her look worse.
The SOR is that none of her supposedly good friends told her how hideous the outfit was and let her go out in public!
