Why do staff always think that just because there's a change of ownership of their employer, they will lose their jobs, almost as a matter of course?

Granted that a new owner from outside might want to bring in his/her own staff (as in the football world), but essentially there are employment regulations in place to ensure that employment continues, TUPE for short.

While this isn't a documentary, of course, you'd think that the writers could add in a line to the effect that "by law your jobs are safe, so get them bleedin' tables cleared or you WILL be on your bike for not doing your job", (which is a different thing altogether)
In the case of the Bistro, it's probably more that they would quit rather than work for Tracy (and this being Corrie, they'd all get jobs in either the Rovers or the factory by the next day).

catching up on the last few episodes

if it was parents evening why weren't Amy / Simon / Faye plus respective guardians there as well, unless they have separate nights for separate years, but again, no mention of any of the other families having parents evenings that week
I wondered that. It was more like Sarah had been called in to see the teacher, even though she called it parents evening (and it seemed to be during the day).

Is the sole purpose of Andy getting a job labouring for Jason and Phelan so that Andy can report back to Michael that Phelan is up to something dodgy?
Ah yes, of course. I did wonder where that story was going to lead us.

Running in arrears after visitors last week and watching The Bistro negotiations ...

I'm confused, what is the shareholding position? I thought Leanne was a 50% owner, leaving Nick with 30% after he gave Robert 20%.

No?
You're not alone. I always thought Nick and Leanne were partners in the Bistro, until this whole Robert buying in and then Nick selling storyline.

Marta looked on the verge of death. Surely the right thing is to call a doctor anyway? If only to avoid the awkwardness of having an unidentified dead body on your couch.
And even though she's obviously ill, Vicar Billy left her on her own at the vicarage while he nipped in the Rovers for a drink. Is there more than one vicar at Wetherfield Parish Church perhaps?

Out of a whole factory of staff on the "shop floor" only Sally and Sean at work today!! And the return of Jenny earwigging everything.

Another repeat scene of Deidre throwing the trifle at the wall in what I think was her final scenes, now they repeat it again with Bethany and a cake at the wall!! Can they really not come up with anything new?

Another personality transplant tonight, this time Bethany. Of all the school kids in Corrie she would be the one least likely to be bullied.

When the bully grabbed her old Beth would have given her a Glasgow kiss

Yes she has been as gobby as hell since the day she arrived in wetherfield and now we are supposed to believe that out of nowhere she is being bullied and not sticking up for herself has she as before and all supposedly because of the dear departed Callum who has affected her, but she was never afraid of him in any situation

Bethany was as quiet as a mouse with the bullies but the second she got home she was a right mouthy mare with her mum in a room full of visitors even going as far as chucking a cake at the wall.

Where was this feistiness with the bullies?

The ones called lemon puffs now are a poor imitation and not even sticky.
Unless they have got old stock of the proper Peak Freens in Home bargains? If this is true im going round there with a truck to stock up!

Home bargains is also called "Family bargains" I think.

Sorry if I've missed something, but are Sally and Norris the only candidates in this election? Surely they would be competing against others - the main parties in particular

And they both seemingly think they best way to get votes is to be gratuitously rude and patronising to potential voters? Norris with Jason, Sally with Anna? Are they both that dense?

'If you've been affected by storylines in this episode...' announcement...

That's quite timely, it was only last week I found a polish girl in my work place, tried to help her and she then nicked the vicars mobile

Tim was talking about Peak Freens lemon puffs, and all lemon puff lovers know that they were the only brand worth having.

The other brands have been mentioned right from the start. We know you can get those!

We noticed that too! Everyone else is called by their first name, even if the person talking about them hates them, yet Phelan is Phelan Perhaps "Pat" doesn't sound villainy enough?

Btw, fed up of the cliché of him talking in a threatening manner to a character, then someone else turns up mid sentence and he switches to nicey nicey and gets away with it. And as always, the person who has turned up sides with Pat, sorry Phelan, rather than the person they've known for ages.... Grrrrr

Talking of clichés, nice to see that other old favourite, someone being about to spill the beans about some issue, and being interrupted by another person barging in (in this case Bethany about to spill to Todd, but being interrupted by Jason). Don't think we've seen this one since, oh about last Friday......
