That Norris looks like he's mobbed up. The election is a foregone conclusion. He will have those ballot boxes stuffed Chicago style. Buying votes old style with drinks in the bar. There may only be 50 eligible voters on the rolls but the count will reflect a landslide victory for Norris of 15 thousand two hundred. His campaign slogan of vote early and vote often along with the threats of broken limbs should do the job. He may have his faults but if you want that pit of snakes called coronation street cleaned up you need a gangster like Norris.

The love for Phelan is a joke, right? We all 'like' a good villain, but I can't believe that people really think the character is a good guy even though he is a good character.

A good villain is one we love to hate - not one we actually like! He's horrible.

And on the subject of suspension of reality - was a bit surprised to hear Gail ask Andy what his surname was. I'm sure it would have been mentioned by now, especially as he's an employee of her son's

Were we ever told exactly how Jenny knew that Tim was arrested in the poll tax riots over 25 years ago?

Yes he is horrible and a very good baddie. Corrie should keep him. They need a different type of character on the street to stir things up. Mind you, after a while, Corrie would probably sanitise and reform him into to another soppy dimwit.

I agree Corrie needs a good character like Phelan instead of all the dimbos and halfwits who can't tell their arse from their elbow.

I veer between loving to hate him, and hating myself for loving him!!!

Maybe the next one will be playing on the Rovers jukebox the next time we have a scene with Phelan in there.

I've been wondering about that, I thought I must have missed a scene.

Didn't he say something about mentioning it in the Kabin?

Yes, I'm pretty sure it came up in conversation the other week.

Yes, it was a conversation in the Kabin, it was about men and feelings i believe (the Dev situation was being discussed) and Tim said to give him a break, as men are not always forward with what they say, and went on about thinking he was on a promise with a girl who invited him into London, only to find out that she was demonstrating against the Poll Tax, and he got arrested.

Last week Erica was in the Kabin after her one night with Dev talking to Rita, Jenny and Tim about romance. And Tim told a story how he had tried to impress a girl he fancied years ago by going to the riots and he still didn't get the girl!

Michael and Andy would not know that though, so Phelan was talking them up, made them sound expensive, so he could be heard on the phone when Andy came back, and seen walking out with them, he was setting Andy and Michael up, pure and simple.

Phelan certainly knows how to play people he just gives them enough rope and they end up hanging themselves.

I don't think so, he intended selling them but when he realised he had been rumbled, he got them back and cleaned them.

The nodding extras in the cafe during the debate was hilarious. Was the guy standing in between Sally and Norris another candidate, or meant to be chairing the meeting?

He looked like he was going to shout something out when Sally walked out, but then realised he wasn't allowed to and just started bobbing up and down. Thought the whole scene was terrific comedy, maybe the Corrie writers are going for that angle these days as they certainly cannot write decent serious story lines any more.

It's hard to keep up because the dialogue for the most part is crap, filler and normally leads to nothing. The other day the Corrie bosses finally cleared up the Alya pregnancy sl by showing a clip.............clearly a forgettable scene, so the uproar was understandable. Plus I thought the hint that she was negative was given when Sinead told 'Auntie' Beth it were a scare.

Did we ever see Marta sneak into Aidan's van? One minute I remember Eva struggling to get in, the next noticed someone snuck in Underworld.

Every other female cast member is shown looking less than perfect if the script demands it ie with no make up, unwashed hair, slobby clothes etc but never Michelle! She must have it written into her contract, I am sure! You just know that her make up and hair will be perfect, whatever she is doing, which these days just seems to be hanging around with Carla, nodding her head.
2. Tracey - in RL, no one would have anything to do with her. Robert would leave, Ken would throw her out. Why is it that she seems to be able to say and do what she wants and no one does anything? They all seem to live in terror of being her next victim and let her get away with whatever she wants. It just doesn't happen like that! Its so unrealistic. Everyone would ignore her normally. Plus, even when they do retaliate, she just looks pouty for a second, cries a bit and then does exactly the same thing. Its boring and predictable and I no longer care about anyone in the cast.”

So true. Some of the reasons I have stopped watching Corrie after absolutely donkey's years is that I detest most of the cast, they are just so bl**dy awful. There is not one character that is sympathetic, kind, nice or just blooming normal.

These are dreadful: Carla, Anna, Sophie, Sarah and her brat Bethany, E ileen, who used to be a good character has been turned really nasty for no reason, Gail is as drippy as a brown sauce sandwich, I used to really like Kylie, but the fiasco of Christmas and the murder of the skanky drug dealer, in fact all of the s/l with the drug dealer was pure nonsense, not least when he was able to walk in and out of the Platts house at will. Izzy, Sean, the Nazirs, Norris, Rita, I could go on.

Every s/l and every character must have "issues", and now I see they have brought in a slavery s/l, it is a case of just jump on any bandwagon that is the latest luvvie led "issue".

All the characters are just so horrible, outdated, stuck in a rut, or just simply a waste of space. I cannot bear to watch it any longer. Let's hope it improves under the new producer, she did well in Emmerdale, which I don't watch anymore for the same reasons that I don't watch Corrie.

Can I just ask if the factory has an accident book? I thought it was law that every establishment that employs even ONE person should have an accident recod book.

The community centre was just something to give old ma Nazir something to do when she wasn't nagging her husband and the rest of her family.

I can think of two who are likeable - Tim and Craig! They should give them a spin-off show and ditch the rest!

I agree with this.

I am no longer bothered now if I miss an episode or two.
I used to look forward to watching the latest instalment, but there is very little enjoyment anymore.

When I do watch, I am forever criticising it. My wife must think I have gone all grumpy in my old age, but she does agree with most of what I say about the show.
