I hope not! That would be even more excuse for the writers to attempt comedy - Sally Thatcher definitely wasn't funny.

They do have real comedy moments, but they are few and far between.

I'd say that the repeated pun lovers and those of us who are fed up hearing the same ones over and over are about equal in the tedium stakes.

Time for both sides to let it go - until the next repeated pun.

You're absolutely right.

Shame they didn't give him parents living in Greece with the name Popolopodous and have him suddenly have to go and look after his ailing mother - for good.

No, Phelan is the best thing to happen in Corrie since it started, and hopefully he will be around for a while, maybe it will turn out he has some relatives who can move to the area too.

A son called Pat junior would be good and a brother who is rich enough to start a business with Pat and his son.

It sounds like you really loathe him, Janet. It reminds me of my delight when Tina was bumped off.

I like a good villain myself, as long as it stays panto.

I dislike the fact that they've brought in another villain and some are taking delight in it.

They've already got Tracy, who has lied, swindled, murdered, slept with just about every male on the street and is constantly scheming and trying to get one over on everyone. She does something nasty and smirks. Phelan does something nasty and smirks. He's a male version of Tracy but no-one thinks she's great. Why not? People are fed up with her.

Tracy doesn't get away with her schemes, apart from being let out of prison after murdering Charlie. Hopefully Phelan won't either. There isn't room for two schemers unless the writers have totally run out of ideas, in which case Corrie should end, and he can't be shown to prosper by being evil. It has to be resolved in the end just as the killing of Callum must eventually.

If the quality that was Corrie can't be regained, then put it out of its misery.

Just move them into Eileen's TARDIS. Room for everyone in Eileen's.

Just think somewhere in the world something important might be happening.

What you mean there is something more important than Corrie, no please, say it's not true.

Nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, is more important than getting Corrie back on track.

People can starve, wars can kill, political leaders can fall, the human race can be wiped out, but none of that is as important as getting Corrie back to the well-written, well-acted soap it used to be - so long as all the animals are saved, especially my

Corrie got absolutely nothing at the TRIC awards. That says it all.

Doubt they'll win anything at any of the others.

The awards soaps win are pretty worthless in the wider world of acting and entertainment anyway all soap awards are based on what or who is popular rather than anything to do with acting or script quality. .

You just have to say them in your head with Phelan and then they do.

And then whoever loses will discover that their nearest and dearest didn't actually vote. Which means that will probably be Sally.

Not a spoiler - pure speculation.

The TRIC awards are industry awards, nothing to do with popularity.

The whole Bethany bullying storyline bothers me. She came in as this mouthy, gobby, mardy cow who took no notice of anyone. Now she's poor bullied Bethany. Bullying is an awful thing (I was bullied myself) so this storyline should have been given to a more suitable character - even Fayemian rather than Bethany. Seeing an actress of nearly 20 (?) playing a bullied schoolgirl is ludicrous.

Its corries attempt to tackle yet another 'issue' and badly.

Another personality bypass it seems.

Plus, what happened to her red lips and fully made up face? Since the bullying story, its all but disappeared
