I get the feeling a lot of people on here are done with it already, like I and others have said it was a nonstarter not convinced by it at all, bad acting, bad script or both.
Best if they call a swift end to it and move on rather than drag it out.

It'll be parked up with the other recent non-starter - craft beers in the Rovers' (I was only reminded of those by "Who's the Boss?" the other night)
Oh yes the unlikely scenes of nearly everyone suddenly drinking craft beer from the neck of a small bottle, I suppose it was preferable to the half filled pints of draught beer from under the bar.

But no one ever seems to pay, nothing goes into the till, so what does it matter?

To be honest a pub like the Rovers wouldn't sell craft beers it's all pint's, halves, vodka/gin & tonics and the occasional wine swillers in there.

Was last night the end of the 'Bethany Bullying' storyline?

Sarah goes around to Lauren's house (how did she get the address, I missed that bit) and mouthes off at her and her mother in a bullying fashion. Very diplomatic, Sarah.

I have thought about this long and hard and I can honestly say there is not one character that I give two hoots about. I used to love so many of them years ago.

The only ones I don't mind are Tim, Audrey and strangely enough, Todd but having said that, I wouldn't be that bothered if they disappeared.
She screamed at the daughter before that. I thought It was very badly done. I know it must be hard to keep calm in such a situation but surely a mature adult would try and speak to the parent in a sensible manner. If Lauren is wrong for bullying, then Sarah is also in the wrong for screaming and pointing her very bendy finger in their faces. Lauren's mother should have phoned the police.

But by far the worst bit is - that Sarah, Bethany, Kylie and David seemed to be celebrating the scream-a-thon by dining in the bistro. Were we all meant to be celebrating too and cheering for Sarah?

Viewer's not caring is part of Corrie's problem. Nothing draws us in to care about the characters, so then we don't care about their SLS and everything about the prog seems such poor quality anyway.

As a long term viewer, I implore you to address the issues raised in this forum to return to the gritty and beloved drama we have all grown up with, where we felt empathy with the characters and cared what happened to them. I'm sure we all realise that some artistic licence is required and it's not real, but the audience should be treated with more respect with regard watching the characters and situations develop with increasingly predictable and incredulous storylines.

Please put an end to:

Personality transplants
Dimwits
Mutton dressed as lamb
Recycled storylines
Ridiculous destinations where characters to take a break
The Factreh
The Connors
Mute children
Over made up barmaids
Pantomime villains
Tardis Homes

Please bring back:
Credible storylines
Snappy and clever dialogue
Lovable characters
Real situations
Older characters who aren't on maternity leave every year
People with jobs who's lives interact with Residents but who don't have great careers who end up working in the cafe
Continuity
Researchers

Thank you.
Yours sincerely
Mr & Mrs Toes

What's with random daytime baths??? Bethany decided to take a bath in Kylie's house in the middle of the day even though I am sure Nick's posh flat has one.

Pleasere arrange this into a well known phrase which makes sense, ie

"People with good jobs, who interact with the Residents but leave/get fired to work in Roys Rolls".

Can someone tell me how Phelan managed to fix the radiator in the taxi office with no tools?
Remember, we're dealing with Phelan here. During a restoration job one morning he single-handedly turned this:

into this:

The Manchester City Coronation Street Babes votes continues.

Liz beat Gail in what was described as an 'upset' or a suspension of reality?

Next round is Steph v Leanne, already billed as a mismatch as Steph goes into an early lead.

The first step for the Corrie crew to try and get Corrie out of this SORfest would be try to create characters that the viewers actually care about.

Since when do chefs march through the bistro with a tray of veg and have a chat with their sister and her mate and not go through the side or back entrance to the kitchen?

Hygienic. Straight from the builders yard to serving food. Lovely.

Since he has to have a pointless interaction with his pointless sister and friend

Why couldn't Eileen get a taxi from Streetcars?

Contrived-a-nation street is quickly becoming television's most boring soap. No imagination, no charm, very little decent plots.

I don't think creating well-loved characters is the issue here. The problem, certainly in recent years, is whenever there is potential with a character, they eventually become overused, burnt out and hackneyed. Carla's the classic example of this; I'm just worried Tim and Sally will suffer the same fate. It's become a little too navel gazing, even if they are the best pair.

In my opinion Corrie are just papering over cracks and don't want to confront the real issues head on.

It is so pathetic. I haven't even bothered watching tonight's second episode. Just as Eileen and Phelan embrace we all knew Michael would come lumbering through the door. I couldn't care less about Michael's relationship problems with Eileen, especially as we barely saw them for ages.

Even Phelan is boring me to tears. Here was a character who started out quite nasty and realistic and his only problem was with Owen and the rest of his family, and he succeeded in ruining them. And now here he is, the over the top bad guy cackling like a panto villain and targeting the other residents. Please. And how can I take a story seriously when you have Michael hiding in the back of a van and looking the prat? At least with Owen you can genuinely see he was at breaking point over the blackmail.

If the brother and sister are pointless, then the friend must even more pointless.

Do you mean Michael?

Why on Earth would you stowaway in the back of someone's van, and if you did, leave the door open?

Have I missed something? Where did Kylie's dear old friend Sadie appear from? And wasn't her husband Jason's father a few years ago?

How embarrassing. It's coasting on its past glories. The whole prog is now awful and not worthy of such a crown.

The people who are not very well liked! KM & AC must push for this role to keep themselves in the Corrie spotlight to build their importance to make their presence in prog seem worthy. These two make sure everyone knows their names and who they are. Corrie star - Kym Marsh. Corrie star - Antony Cotton. These two will never quit.

EE is like all soaps - OTT. But whenever I watch it seems far superior in every way. The production values are so much better. Corrie don't seem to be much bothered about anything except churning episodes out. It's full of weirdos, idiots, simpletons, feisty women, women with faces full of OTT make-up, women with their tits and arses out, dozy blokes, scenes in odd places like the debate in the cafe, the Corrie Winter Wonderland Christmas, the enigma which is the successful factory, the enigma which is Carla Connor who won an award for her business acumen despite the factory going bust every few weeks, everyone neatly partnered off, the Anna smashing up Phelan and his van scene and of course - comic characters.
Could not have described Corrie any better. Brilliant post, bravo!
