Or it turns out Gemma was telling the truth and HAS been speaking to him!
I wish there was a bit less over-acting. Gemma would be good if it wasnt for all the shrieking and gurning.
Michael has the opposite problem of underacting. He might as well be an ironing board propped up in the corner, lately. (Yet is capable of being great)

I'm sorry to harp on about bedrooms again, but how could there not be a spare room at the Nazirs for Alya's friend when Kal used to live there and presumably had his own room?
BIB that's what I think, he somehow got out of the hole before it was cemented up and will return
I would actually welcome this scenario, despite the gurning, I quite liked the storylines with Callum.

Since Steve has been in Spain looking after Andy or whatever, we haven't seen hide nor hair of Rover. I realise she is played by the actor's dog, so hasn't been on set - but she hasn't even been mentioned by Liz or Michelle; I guess the writers have forgotten her existence. I used to love the scenes with Rover, and I reckon she must have cheered up all the actors too - she's such a lovely little dog, so maybe it would be worth a temporary recast

And of course, the slave holders return home just as Eva and The Vicar are there, then of course Michael walks in as Phelan is hugging Eileen, then of course Sarah Lou walks in just as Gemma is in the hairdressers.

Utter, utter rubbish, Corrie.

ETA and then 'I thought I saw Marta at that window...' says Eva to the Vicar. A man who has been told that she has been held as a slave. And he dismisses it as Eva seeing things.

Flip me.

E(again)TA Why on earth are they scared of Gemma phoning Callum?? Why are they giving her a job? She was the henchperson of a drug dealer who terrorised them.

E(yet again)TA, fair enough to Corrie on the last one, David's plan is something he would think of.

Gemma is essentially a plot device to keep Callum being mentioned until one of the conspirators of coving up Callum's death finally cracks and blurts out to her that Callum is dead which will then lead to his body being discovered or something like that.

I'm going for his phone ringing from under the floor in the middle of the night - would love to see that.

It can happen - many years ago I had a toy donkey that walked and sat back on it's hind legs and brayed, although you had to press a switch on the battery cover. it terrified me by suddenly braying in the middle of the night. Loved that donkey but next day I gave it away.

I'm laughing, but I'd have been just as terrified.
Phone batteries don't last that long though do they?

Sadly no, but it would have been great to see that happening.

Didn't David throw Callum's phone in the canal?
That might have been the murder weapon but didn't he also get shot of the phone?

I'm pretty sure Callum's phone was kept because didn't David send a text to Callum's mum and also Gemma when she turned up before looking for Callum?

This is the problem with Corrie it's so poorly written and acted that it causes confusion with what is happening and what has happened even the scriptwriters get confused and forget the history or rewrite it.

I think he did but he must have got rid of it after that as otherwise the phone location can be traced if the mum asks the police to trace it and David wouldn't risk that happening. But I can't remember if he did get rid of it or not.

As I said previously, either on this thread or another Corrie one, if Callum had a PAYG phone (unlikely) then it would either need to be topped up at least once or one paid call made very three months to keep it active, or, if it was on contract (most likely), then the monthly payment would need to be made. So either there's enough in his bank account (can't really see him having a bank account) to keep up the direct debit or someone else is paying it.

Would David keep paying for it? Would he keep it charged?

Why does no-one in Corrie ever seem to charge their phone or have their battery run low?

Just caught up with both of yesterday's shows.

What a pile of poop. Both of them were pointless. Two of the most boring episodes I've seen in a long while.

Shall I stick with it? Possibly.
Just seen the first one and totally agree, shall I watch the second later? Possibly.

Well you have asked the questions and then answered them yourself, it's a soap full or SORs so the rules of what apply in the real word don't apply in Corrie.

No, I haven't answered my questions. I was hoping that someone like you would be able to.

So I'll ask them again:

Would David keep paying for it? Would he keep it charged?

I have a PAYG phone and you don't have to keep it topped up or make a call once every three months to keep it active. I have had my current number for 16 years and hardly ever use it and not ever has it become inactive

Believe it or not, I don't want to see characters charging their phones. What an odd comment.

Phones normally run out of battery when an ambulance or fire engine needs to be called.

Really? Who are you with. The three month rule is a condition so Vodafone, so I assumed it was the case with all providers. But doubt that Callum would have had a PAYG phone anyway.

I'm more interested in whether posters think that David would take over paying for Callums phone and keep it charged, and if/what his reasoning would be. He doesn't strike me as the type of person who would plan ahead - just in case.

I am with Orange.

I suspect that David no longer has the phone as it could be traced by the police if someone wanted to find Callum

OT I thought I was the only person with a mobile phone (and it is not even 'smart' !) but rarely use it. I get some text messages, but rarely send one out, and even rarely make a call with it ! I much prefer my landline. Rarely is anything that urgent that there is a need to make / receive a call outside of the home.

Apart from the odd murder and fire, train crashes and heart attacks, robbery, blackmail (allegedly ), public assault, destruction of personal property. Public intoxication and impaired driving coupled with kidnapping and slavery makes me think you're right in your assumption about not needing a phone. Having said that, the above mentioned are petty compared to getting some of Annas hair in your beans. This rare occurrence might be a reason for that one urgent call to the health department.

Why?

A gangster would not have a bill phone. He would be traceable if that was the case.
Also he would have to have a bank account if he had a bill phone.

Why just so you can say I or whoever answers is wrong like you usually do?

So how's Callum coming back up?, it seems they're now making preparations in the script for Paula Lane who plays Kylie Platt to leave the show so up comes Gangsterman very soon.
[Gangster?, I've been more frightened in Mothercare]
