Hands down everything to do with that fire. More specifically how Carla coughed up a lung after a few minutes of smoke inhalation (realistic reaction) but how Amy, a small child, managed to stay in that fire for a lot longer but managed to get out of that fire without ever coughing with a smaller lung capacity. Leanne and Kal were in the fire for longer than Carla too and were standing up and seemed just as unfazed as Amy.

Leanne accepting Kal's marriage proposal halfway down the ladder took the p!ss too. And how the firemen just dropped Kal's body in the street like it was rubbish. How Liz seemed smug in telling Tracy that Amy was trapped in there. Tracy's motives for wanting to kill Carla in the first place. Carla being blamed and having people give her dirty looks because she was responsible for the fire but when it comes out that it was Tracy who start that fire no one cares and treats her like anyone else. Why didn't Kal just jumped off of that balcony and hope for the best? Going back into that building was certain death waiting to happen, jumping out of that building, unless he went head first into the pavement, would have left him with a broken leg or 2 maybe at that height but still alive.

Like I said, everything about that fire should win such an award.
And didn't they dump the body right in front of The Nazirs as well to add insult to injury?

if Roy was using the day off to clean the cafe why on earth would the door be unlocked to allow randoms in expecting grub?

About the fire (my memory maybe hazy), but why didn't Karl just pick Amy up immediately instead of messing around telling her to come? He is meant to be this former soldier and gym trainer, but couldn't just pick up a child! Then of course the cliched moment when the roof collapsed and blocked the door.

That ring road nonsense with the emergency services unable to arrive.

The fire seems forgotten now. Since it was revealed Tracy was responsible it is like there has been some massive memory wipe on the street residents. Tracy has recently been threatening Leanne and talking to her like crap, despite it being Leanne helping save Amy and alerting everyone to the fire in the first place! Leanne even said the other night "I may not be Tracy's biggest fan..." well I'd think not as she did indirectly kill your boyfriend!

And as for nobody caring about Tracy's involvement. Tony Stewart gets humiliated in front of the whole pub by Liz, Liz buys Tracy a drink as a "thank you" while Tracy stands there and sneers. Apparently causing a fire leading to the deaths of two people is less worse than conning (which Tracy was also involved in!) Hated that scene, if I was meant to cheer for Tony's commupance the writers are sadly mistaken.

And of course Tracy turning over a new leaf. That went nowhere. It's like the writers can't be bothered so just reverted back to same old nastiness, far easier to write and requires little effort.

None of the stories go anywhere. We got no proper conclusion to Andy and Michael making up, Michael moved in with him and we are just meant to assume in the weeks they were absent they made up. Now all we get is Andy standing around in the Bistro and that pointless stuff recently with Michael and that woman he robbed years ago (that went nowhere either).

Okay, I'll stop rambling on now lol.
This is the s/l which actually made me look for some sort of discussion thread. I couldn't believe quite how ridiculous and preposterous the entire fiasco was and wondered if others thought the same as me.

I realise all the actors need breaks, maternity leave or whatever and it is soapland where liberties can be taken, but there must be ways of writing a well thought out and credible exit other than visiting some long forgotten character in far flung places the day after the announcement was made. What ever happened to slow burn, character development and respect for the audience who aren't as dumb as sh*te to swallow it all.

because she know in advance exactly how long she will be out there

she better be back before may so Liam can sit his year two sats test
Why? When he comes back he could be assessed in many ways if it was too late for him to do the SAT's

I don't think Maria would need to say exactly how long she'd be in Cyprus to get Liam in a school there. If a local school had a place they would take him, as UK schools do for children visiting here from overseas.

Why would Michelle - WHO LIVES IN A PUB THAT SERVES FOOD - and Kate need to go to Roy's for a sausage sandwich? And as for Kate saying that she needed a cup of tea because her mouth 'was like the bottom of a budgie's cage' - has she not heard of this new-fangled contraption they call a kettle?

Apparently Kate hasn't heard of shops as she needed to borrow money from Johnny to get something to eat at the Bistro.

BIB: Same goes for the Faye pregnancy storyline that was meant to be one of the biggest of the year that just pretty much ended after she gave birth. The revenge porn storyline seems to be going the same way with a casual mention about Steph's parents being disgusted. Sinead's paralysis lead to nowhere, she got the use of her legs back quickly and she had 0 character development in that time. There's also Maria pretending to be Kirsty among other examples of this.

And didn't they dump the body right in front of The Nazirs as well to add insult to injury?
Indeed, didn't even bother loading it up into the ambulance that they left it next to.

Today Robert was late by 7 minutes and decided to show his boss a lot of attitude. Then he gets sent home for a few hours because he's being moody, wish I could get away with doing that/. And then when he comes back he's apparently late again despite not being given an actual time to arrive back at the bistro.

Eva throwing that drink over Aiden really warranted the laughing and pointing that he got... Kate was just as bad as Aiden in that bet and yet she can't have a beer poured over her because it's only funny when the nasty men have it done to them. Of course just before that we got the obligatory Eva laugh that is being shoehorned into every script now because some fans like it.

Carla's alcohol addiction is now evident in almost every episode that it's been turned into a gag by Michelle, who of course spent 30 seconds having a go at Carla before turning on her "poor Carla" mode. And for someone who's been cheated on before her advice of not telling Nick seems pretty weird. She'll be pleased that the cliched "interrupt someone as they're about to admit to cheating" cliche was used today.

"Nobody messes with my barmaids," or something of that ilk. Hideous, cingeworthy line! Expected better from Lizzy McMutton.

What's with Corrie males taking advantage of upset, drunk women? There was Jason with Alya, now Robert with Carla.

Can't they keep it zipped? The scriptwriters must have a poor opinion of men!
What's the chance that Carla Barla finds herself pregnant, leaves in May, and comes back with a kid.

All signs are pointing to an "EXPLOSIVE" exit for Carla Barla in May/June, so this will probably be her exit storyline.

Ridiculous, isn't it?

Apart from the issues already mentioned about the stupid idea of making it Peru, the passport issue and the jabs ... there's flights to organise (not straightforward I would guess) and visas?

But, overall, just ... why?
We saw Norris repeatedly telling Emily the idea was completely bonkers and he was the only one making any sense.

That's the way I see it too, Fiz has 2 emotions soppy simpering or screaming haranguing harpy and switches between the two without blinking.
And she walks and bobs her head like a Woodentop (Puppets from the 50s - showing my age there). A walk that Gail also seems to favour.

When Eva was doing her dating app in the Rovers, she was telling Liz to swipe left and right etc but when she said "swipe left", she actually swiped right and when she said to "swipe right", she actually swiped left

It was the cost of insurance that struck me. Even if she could find an insurer the cost would be prohibitive. And why did they have to make this visit at such short notice? It makes it even more improbable.
Why would Emily, who hasn't left Weatherfield for 40 years, have a valid passport. And wouldn't she need vaccinations to travel to Peru?
And as with anyone leaving at short notice, they wait until the evening to do so - whether it be 'that London', Portsmouth, Peru, etc. What's wrong with someone going in daylight?!

..............., Kev going on to say he could have an advance of his salary. because a) would he get a salary if he was a partner and b) why is that decision exclusively Kevin's?................
I'm guessing here, but I'd have expected a partnership agreement to have provision for profit sharing at set intervals, possibly once a year. In the meantime, the agreement could allow "salaries" to be paid to the partners.

But if it's a partnership, what did kevin give sophie 21% of?

Hubby noticed that! He said it looked like the actress didn't know her lefts from her rights

My favourite SORs (or most disliked whichever way you look at it!) are...

- Mary's disappearing camper van
- Sarah going from a little bit pregnant to quite obvious, bump pregnant in a week and the total SOR of Bethany being fine with the situation (despite them living at nicks 2 bedroomed flat) - does nick live with Carla? I'm confused.
- people never move to Newcastle or Leeds or even that London it's always the Isle of Wight (Lloyd), Spain (Eva), Cyprus (Maria), and now bloody Peru with Emily, who could NO WAY get travel insurance for that trip at her age especially as she hasn't had jabs.
- The flats fire, and the only access from the fire station to Corrie is down the ring road. Blocked ring road equals one dead Kal who lets face it COULD HAVE JUMPED.
- Kev totally forgetting he'd lost a child.
- the writers thinking anyone cares about who is or isn't Carlas dad or her new siblings.
- snow gate. How DID Tyrone pay for a snow machine so great and powerful it covered the Barlows and the Metcalfes back garden?
- he not Gavin debacle... Michael seemingly having forgiven Andy but can't forgive Gail even though the former set out to deceive and the latter only protected his health.

So many to choose from!

'Fictional' which soaps are, mean it is not real, so suspensions of reality should be expected should they not?

Tyrone did not create the snow! It was supposed to be real snow. It was all part of the Christmas miracle that meant Urrp was going to receive good news about her tumour shrinking.

She said last night that she'd had her jabs (and held her left arm) but how she managed to get them at such short notice and with doctor's surgeries being closed I've no idea!
