The women are no better though, mostly. In real life, very few women I know have affairs, but it is an everyday occurrence in Coronation street. More than half the women in the street have "strayed"
Just from memory... Tracey Leanne Anna Rita Gail Audrey Nessa Sarah-Louise Carla Kylie Fiz Alya Sally Eileen Mary. ![]() Thank goodness Emily (Lady Edith) left before they make her have it away with Billy! ![]() You have missed off Saint Hayley If my memory serves me right on one of her trips out of the street to Africa/India...didnt she have a thing with a worker out there????

But she was treated more sympathetically and Peter was portrayed as the villain. Peter is a bigamist and cheat, so he should automatically forgive her and shouldn't feel upset or betrayed he got cheated on. Even with Carla's one-night stand with Robert, it is obvious he is going to be portrayed as the villain here. |

I wouldn't really classify some of those as affairs - more like one-night stands. If they aren't in a couple, then having a relationship is perfectly OK. And Anna slept with Phelan for her family not because she wanted to. What affairs did Fiz have, or Eileen, or Sarah or Audrey? I'm trying to remember any time when they deliberately cheated when they were already in a relationship, but I can't.
Thinking about it, there does seem to be a pattern of women being taken advantage of by men, though not always of course. I think Sarah slept with Jason while she was with Todd? and Fiz had an affair with Tyrone while he was with Kirsty. Come to think of it, both Eileen and Fiz could be considered to have taken advantage of Ty and Michael, because they were both low and desperate. |

Yes, but these are mostly just down to flings or one night stands, and even when caught nothing much is made of it. They were either "confused" or "regret" it.
For example Leanne had an affair with Nick behind Peter's back. With Robert I think it was six of one and half a dozen of the other, but no doubt it will be all Robert's fault. |

Ok ! ![]() "Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she (or should it be 'he') walks into mine..." Why the hell would Robert go to a casino? Why not go home for a kip, or a nice walk by t'canal, or even downing voddies in the flying horse if he's that wound up (cos of course they'd probably never notice he was under the influence back at the Bistro )

Audrey had an affair with Bill Webster while he was married to Maureen. Michael is still married to Gail, and hadnt had time to properly make a decision about the relationship when Eileen swooped.

The new business in the arches, which isn't in partnership with Tyrone.

Any fault is as much on the women's side as on the men's. And the list omitted Curly and Maureen, after a shared bottle of wine. Back in the days when a bottle of wine was rare and sophisticated, and invariably led to bed. |

Yeah what's that laugh all about? Are we supposed to find it amusing and/or endearing? As it happens the laugh itself doesn't especially bother me but I'm bemused why it's suddenly a thing since the actress came back from maternity leave? I don't recall her laughing like that before. They may as well just put her sign on her head saying 'hey, I'm a ditzy blonde!'

Right, thanks. I hadn't realised that business existed, at the time he gave Sophie the shares.
Take advantage of? Are we still in the era of wicked squires and innocent housemaids? Any fault is as much on the women's side as on the men's. Im confused. So Kevin will own a new garage where he and Sophie own 100% of the profits, right opposite his existing garage where he has to split the profits with Tyrone. What incentive is there for Kevin to fix any cars at the shared garage when he can just send the customer to his new place and pocket it all. Its ludicrous.
They had Maddy cleaning cars for them and there wasn't enough space on their forecourt for those and the ones needing a mechanic. Kevin was supposed to have landed a big contract for servicing a fleet of cars and they had them parked all over the street. I could be wrong, but I'm certain it's going to be something separate from what the "qualified" mechanics Tyrone and Luke do. |

It's ironic that the main employer in the street is a knicker factory, when it appears there is no call for them 😉

Our Kev's turning into a proper entrepreneur. So he now owns and runs 3 garages, the two in coronation street (one part owned admittedly), and the one he bought last year ( off a retiring mate ? ) off the street that is now never mentioned (why didn't Sophie screech just bog off and run that one full time !!!!! ). |

Was Maureen married to Reg at the time? If so, it is almost excusable. ![]() My list was only of the current characters, but I was wondering who has had the most affairs if we include everyone from the start? If you include one night stands, then I think Maria would be the winner by a wide margin. Unless you count the delicious Yana, of course. ("I was on holiday for a week, and didn't have sex with anybody till the third night. If you don't count the laundrette"). Quote:
.................. It's probably very hard to fix a roulette game but still it's seem to be a bit weird to me.
However, it would be unnecessary : a crooked employee could simply treat an accomplice's bet as though it were a winning one, and pay the accomplice. |

It's a soap of course people have affairs, if nothing happend to these characters people would say they were boring and they should be axed
The bed hopping in Corrie these days is such a yawn, and I'm not a prude by any means. As I've said on another thread, pretty much all the affairs are so "meh", for me there's been precious few that have had any shock or dramatic impact, other than Deirdre and Mike (I know it's a cliché to single that one out but it really was powerful) and more recently Kevin and Natalie in the '90s, which was a real face-off of the "scarlet woman" up against the cosy respectable stability which Sally represented. Or, outside adultery, probably Gail and Martin as that was so out of left field (although no doubt if they did an age gap affair these days they'd play it for laughs). Otherwise it just seems like the producers have a big spreadsheet to mark off who's not bonked who Enough already.

talking to one of the tour guides on the corry tour about it and he said they didn't get many school groups in because of the inappropriateness of the story lines, even though it's quite educational seeing how a tv programme is made and it's on at a time when children can watch it.

Of course just before that we got the obligatory Eva laugh that is being shoehorned into every script now because some fans like it.
It's so fake. I've seen the actress do it on other shows where she's guest appearing as herself. TPTB at Corrie must have seen her do it too and thought it was a good idea to have Eva doing it. It only used to happen now and then, but lately it's at least once per episode.

But it's not fake - it's her natural laugh and that's why you've seen her do it on other shows as herself. Just as Jimmy Carr's strange laugh is natural.
