Wasn't all that stuff with Eva clichéd? Beth was pulling her scowly, slapped-arse of a face a la her previous incarnations as Janice and Cilla at Eva as is the norm for that character specification. Then quelle surprise. Not. Eva saves the day! Almost! But we all know she will get the order. It was all very Girl's Own Adventure Stories c.1950.

Sorry folks dont want to play at internet police here but this topic is about SOR, and there are more than enough of them.

if you want to discuss people going missing for months on end could you please create a new thread. Thanks

Or special cases needing a private room.
When you are in Labour having the baby you have the baby in a private room in the Labour Ward, then you are moved to the ward with other people.”

I thought the old wards were being replaced by single rooms? My local maternity hospital has singles and it was built 21 years ago, so I thought most places were the same?

I do hope Marion being allowed to barge in is not true to life.

I think the point of it is that it is all rather unlikely.

Not an SOR, but does Jonathan Harvey seem to get all the pregnancy 'labour' episodes? I ask that because you had Mary running around frantically on Monday, I'm sure Sean was trying to help Kylie when she was in agony, and it was probably the same with Faye. The comedic effect is OK most of the time, but having secondary characters always on hand, wittering away gets tiresome.

But what happens if Hanlon doesn't want to do business or backs out at the last second?

Underworld should go under. Ridiculous business plan.

Or the other way round like Lloyd's daughter going from health care professional to working in the cafe.

I think it is an SOR. How many people do you come across in real life who are allowed to leave their job for six months or more to go off and look after a sick relative and then come back to their job and and carry on as if there was no interruption? In my experience maybe one in a lifetime of working.

Maternity leave - yes. Looking after a sick relative - resign.

I have to agree. Emily going to Peru? Give me a break. They are professional? writers and should have come up with something better.

The way Eva single handedly saved the company from certain financial disaster last night had me in full admiration for her sales skills this girl is wasted on a sewing machine and needs urgently upgrading onto the staff with her own desk in the Underworld management office if they can find enough space for her.

I hope he doesn't do a 'Phelan' and insist they can have the contract as long as Eva sleeps with him

This thread would implode

I dont think the sale has gone through yet, but Robert and Tracey are acting as if they own it already.

The classic Corrie cliche with characters on the switch always being rude to the customer.s Are they ever pleasant?

Robert summed up Tracy perfectly. She is boring, and her scheming has been boring for a long time. Just a pity the writers still make up repetitive crap for her.

And I struggle to care for Carla's situation. She has been written as an idiot.

Pretty true to real life from my experience. I was ready to jump in with the SOR about the taxi drivers license before Eileen jumped in.

How many times have we seen Eileen be rude to someone and then cut them off? Streetcars must have a terrible reputation.

Speaking of cliches, tonight it was Erica and Dev's turn to do the the giggling and run up the stairs to have sex routine.

Predictable cliche extraordinaire was Gail and Michael. Would they get back together? Would Michael tell Gail? Would Gail find Michael before he left? No. That was a forgone conclusion.

But I did like the way Eileen just seemed to know that Michael wanted to get back with Gail even though he only just decided. Clever Eileen.

When Gail rushed out of the cab office to the ice-cream van, Eileen and Tim strolled round the corner. Tim had his hat and coat on. Eileen had her coat and cross-body bag on. Yet when Gail left the cab office Tim was sitting in the tatty chair and Eileen was on switch and neither of them had their bags, hats and coats on!

So now we know. Gail and Michael are due to get back together when he returns. What a shame his exit SL was so shoddy and such crap.

reading a book on the 50th anniversary and one of the past writers said that the script writers should spend time in the story office, to help them write better scripts

Gail is such a weak women now. Its hard to imagine her say Norman Bates with a briefcase again. I dread to think how she will when the body is eventually discovered.

Good to see Tracy running her florists [sarcasm]. Now that Carla is back she'll always hang around the Bistro.

Same with Michelle "I run three businesses on my own" Connor, who looked rushed off her feet listening to Carla whining on about Tracy.

Teen slappers run in the family it seems I've always found the age gap between Sue and Helen very unbelievable, they look more like sisters.

Gail could just have rung Michael to tell him. What a load of codswallop. How could she take him back so soon anyway the miserable sod, he didn't even want Gail back he just had nowhere to live. He probably hadn't even had a shower since rolling out of Eileen's bed.

Kylie would have to convince the jury that she killed him and dragged him into the manhole all by herself I suppose?
