It's no use coming on here begging and wailing trying to wangle your way out of serious bother a most heinous crime has been committed and you must pay society back for it.

Later she was a machinist for a company that made shirts and she sewed individual sleeves for men's shirts. Someone else made the bodies of the shirts and they were assembled elsewhere. She didn't have an industrial machine, but we had friends who did and they were employed at home by various garment or curtain making companies. The fabric, thread and trimmings were delivered and the finished sewing collected later in the week. They were paid per completed item.

My point is wouldn't it make more sense for the factory to employ home machinists rather than have them in the factory. They'd get more work done instead of spending all their time on tea breaks or chatting instead of working and the company would actually make money but we wouldn't have the "hilarious" scenes in the factory which would mean that we'd be missing a huge chunk of the "action".”

I dont think "health and safety" wouldn't allow industrial sewing machines in the home, would they?

Yes they would. Anyone can buy one - I've had two at different times, and there are plenty of adverts for machinist homeworkers. A domestic sewing machine wouldn't cope with the amount of work they have to do. It doesn't pay well, but some outworkers are women who stay at home to look after children and do the work after the children are in bed and are glad of any income.

I was thinking more of the employer's duty of care etc? It is different if you buy one yourself, of course, but I havent heard of anyone actually working for a firm at home with one of those machines.
If it is possible, it sounds like a good idea.

I found adverts on the web dating to 2013, but it might have changed since then.

It was almost slave labour, but for some any money is welcome.

Hey my nose ain't that big!

But I did the crime so I will do the time.

You do a SOR by showing me on the phone and I do another SOR on my lappy smuggled into 1 Southall Street, Manchester, just like they do in Corrie.

All this Nonsense with Carla being/Living in Fear of Toxic Tracey with Carla a Strong Women who stood up for herself against bigger and more fearful baddies, Anyway a great way to sort Toxic out would have been to give her the Blackmail Money in Counterfeit Notes. Then when Toxic tries to use the Money it is found to be Counterfeit and she has to Explain where the Money has came from , As Toxic will not be able to say Oh i got it by Blackmailing Carla Connor. This would be a more believable Line and could even get Toxic locked up is she still under License for Charlies Murder or was she Cleared of all Charges ?

Sally's supercilious attitude towards her friends is totally OTT - NOT FUNNY
Tracey's constant bitchiness is totally OTT - BEYOND ANNOYING
Gail's whining & simpering is totally OTT - NO SYMPATHY

Carla's handling of yet another blackmail plot is totally out of character.

The only couples with any charisma and look like they belong together is Kylie and David. Such a shame they will have to break up

All the characters have been pigeonholed into the dumb one, the clever one, the business one, the sexy one, the moaner, the eccentric.
All females are gobby loudmouths.
All males are long suffering nincompoops.
Everyone must have amnesia and forget any friends and relatives who left the cobbles unless they are sainted enough to have a photograph in a strategic spot.
Everyone must have a lobotomy and a personality transplant.

Nobody must depart from their respective roles and they must wait their turn for the next blackmail/pregnancy/cheating SL, and anyone leaving must realise they will have the most ridiculous and unbelievable exit. I'm sure the cast have to give plenty of notice unless they are sick, but the exits still seem to look as though they have been hastily cobbled together with about 30 minutes discussion and scripts thrust into their hands 5 minutes before the recording.

I guess I'm the dumbo for still watching.”

Ooo, this is fun........

Sally - the snobby one
Mary - the eccentric one
Beth and Tracyluv - the gobby twins
Carla - the strong one ¬___¬
Liz - the feisty one
Eva - the ditzy, big-hearted one
Chesney - the dull one
Sinead - the quirky-turned-plain one
Sophie - the lesbian one
Gail - the doting one
Kenneth - the intellectual one
Steve - the jester one
Ty - the dimwitted one
Anna - the belligerent one
Tim - the workshy one
Fiz - the unpleasant one
Johnny - the boring-old-fart one
Kirky - the dopey one

Alan just looks like a boring simpleton. I doubt there is much acting going on when he plays Tyrone.”

She's changed a lot over the years. Obviously, she's grown older but has she had work done/lost weight or summat?

First a man of clay, then a man of wood. Are we having biblical analogies here?

Did anyone spot, a week or so ago, Nick referring to himself as 35? Oh, come on, we're not stupid. He's at least 55.

I know but I was stuck with your triple question.

I dislike him because he goes in pubs, ignoring the other punters and spends an evening just playing a machine, but most of all because he often wears an Manchester United shirt as he does so.

what is wrong with him ignoring other people in a pub? If its his day off, why is he being hassled? That is really rude!
