No Kate hasn't started yet. The week after next is when she starts. I don't think her name will be in the credits until she starts having a proper influence on storylines, which will be months away. She's still credited at the end of every Emmerdale episode as her storylines are still going out.

Thanks for that, I wasn't sure when she started, but as you say, filming is at least 6 weeks ahead of the schedules so will be a while after she starts that her eps will be aired.

Why do actors overact on Corrie?

Anna Windass went completely loopy when she smashed up Phelan's van.

Michelle has been without Steve for months and she's been seen doing absolutely FA. Yet last night she went into a complete bitch strop when asked to do some work.

Izzy's acting is always a bit weird but yesterday after she had had the strong stuff, she went nutty and we got the crazed camera work.

Do Corrie aim for this effect and the actors are directed to overdo it or are they just crap actors?

I think we should have a party when Blackburn finally finishes.

How did she do at Emmerdale? I don't watch it.

One thing that I can guarantee is that there will be more excitement and drama. She's leaned towards sensationalism at times but I feel that compared to Blackburn the show will be much more watchable. The ED cast is as strong as it's ever been imo and whilst there was no quick cast cull, over time she got rid of Blackburn's deadwood characters. The balance between drama and comedy is generally very good and the pacing is excellent too. She keeps spoilers to a minimum which leads to some actual suspense about what will happen next and she likes shock returns/twists. She uses the set to full effect too which ultimately contributes to the general high quality of the show. She's left it in a much better state than when she took over from Blackburn and I'm hoping she'll do the same for Corrie.

Great idea. I'll bring 4 pint cans of Stella, a bottle of chilled chardonnay and a large pack of Kettle Crisps.

I think they do live together.
Iirc, they continued walking in the direction they were going, wherever that was

why were will and michelle talking about somebody in year nine when it wasn't called that when they were in school in the early 90s, 'year nine was the 3rd year of high school, when I was 13/14

Didn't the daft year names happen when the national curriculum started in 1988?

What I don't like is the portrayal of Nick and Carla's relationship. Or indeed any of these mix-and-match relationships, with few exceptions.

He comes across as some lovelorn teen, dying to kiss Quackers' lips, while the Countess of Underworld is happy to play the needy damsel, who is happy to take Leanne's leftovers.

Aidan is another of these popstar/soapstar additions who likes to overact when under pressure. Now Tony had a cool persona, shame Corrie didn't hold on to the actor who played him.

I was at high school from 1990 - 1995 and the years were definitely called years 7 - 11 when I was there so this isn't a SOR

I believe Michelle is a couple of years older than me so may have started high school in 1988. As someone else said the year names may have changed to coincide with the new GCSE curriculum that came in 1988

I suppose so, but she may have had them done before she appeared on the Street and we just haven't learnt that bit yet.

Do you mean there won't be any more storylines about ping-pong games and lost socks?

Thanks, that's an improvement. At one time, after every "accidental" meeting, at least one of the parties would turn round and return the direction they'd come in. Completely forgetting wgat they'd come out for in the first place.

didn't realise it changed so soon after I left school in 1986

It would help us oldies if one of the older cast members mght ask what "year what's-it" is in real money, and then we would all know

It sounds like Wilf has taken time to carefully consider every aspect of Michelle's breasts.

Nick and Carla & Steve and Michelle are poor relationships. Even Carla and Michelle's relationship is crap. That's because the writing etc. is rubbish. Michelle's meltdown was sudden and out of place as we hadn't seen any viable reasons for it, having never seen her at the cab office, doing anything in the pub or dealing with her wedding planner business which is being yet again to get her involved with a bloke. She's been cruising along very smoothly. Now Steve is coming back, she needs a SL. Her meltdown was ridiculous and as I already said would Liz McDonald really be tiptoeing round Michelle in the Rovers? Whose bl@@dy pub is it anyway?!!

Not sure which Tony you mean but Tony Gordon and Tony Stewart were good characters.

Read his last bit. If we haven't learnt that she's had her breasts done, we're to assume she hasn't even if she had them done before rocking up to the cobbles.
