Well to be fair when Tony duped them out of the pub she didn't have a stable home/job etc. Doing 3 jobs while her hubby who she supported through his issues when she found out is golfing in Spain may be a bit of a reason to have a moan esp if she is missing him.
She's been too busy running around after Carla to miss him and she's never really even mentioned him.

Steve - Spain - lovely weather and rounds of golf or rainy Weatherfield with arsey-faced nagging wife?

Yet Michelle's name remained above the door, during this 'uncertain' period. Tony may have duped them, but he never carried out the final part of the deal, to install Tracy as landlady. As long as Liz was around, they were in steady hands, hence my comment about conviction.

Michelle got the Underworld job out of nepotism, and her lovely husband Steve practically bought her the Rovers, which let's not forget, she thought was beneath her. She hardly is this grafting type the Corrie writers have led us to believe; all of a sudden she's under stress and realises how hard it is to manage three businesses!

Didn't like how she belittled Steve months prior to his depression storyline, and all the writers did to emphaise her support was to tone down the nagging. Hardly compassionate. Didn't the lovely Michelle had a go at JennyBradley a few weeks ago for messing with Kate...............?

What was with Liz and her make up tonight? Her lip liner was a different colour to her lipstick and looked so obvious, the eyeliner looked like it had been troweled on more than usual.

I'm no expert on wedding planning, but dont you usually sit down with the chef and plan a menu and then maybe sample bits. Or do you sit in the restaurant with all the other diners in the evening and swig wine and big portions of food? Why get married there anyway? The couple don't seem short of a few bob, there must be nicer places. Its a wonder they aren't having the reception int 'rovers.

I might have missed something in the hilarity of Amy's April fool with Ken. But did she say she broke up today, on a Friday?

Liz seems to have turned against Michelle. She sided with her over her own son a few months back and now she thinks the worst of her. Who cares anyway, its another tedious storyline. Michelle must have had a relationship for 8 months with the bridegoom to be (cant remember his name) and then Ryun/swapped son's father in very quick succession.

I thought the tedium of the chickens was bad enough first time, surely they aren't planning story number 2 around them.
Michelle gave birth to somebody or other a week short of her fifteenth birthday, so if she was being full on with the bridegroom for eight months at the very most she could only have had three months to meet Dean and conceive his baby. Possible at a streeeetch I suppose?

TBF to Michele, as much as it pains me , if I'd met a bloke I'd dated as a kid, in a public place just over the road from where I live, where everyone knows me, and then my MIL fishwifed at me about having an affair based on that, I'd think she'd well and truly lost her marbles
I am surprised Michelle didnt give him a lapdance for spite.

I don't know if it was just the makeup but she looked like something out of a horror movie tonight.
I thought exactly the same thing. I think it was the lighting and the OTT wig, but she reminded me of a 1940s black and white horror movie. I quite expected thunder and lightning, and horses whinnying.

Yet Michelle's name remained above the door, during this 'uncertain' period..........
That hasn't meant anything for about 10 years now, has it? The Act now calls for a Personal Licence (as I believe it's called) to be displayed in a prominent position.

Either the writers haven't done their research, or we're simply supposed to forget characters' histories.

Was there an unofficial overacting competition going on tonight? The whole two episodes were absolutely terrible. In fact, the only characters whom you could believe to be real people were the Nazirs.

Am I right in thinking there are only three types of stranger who venture into the Rovers?

A single male, who's destined for Liz's bed,

A single female, who's been wronged by a male ,

A group of people who will immediately cause trouble.

And the one that blurts personal information out in a loud voice, such as when Robert dumped Tracey, and Liz dumped Tony, and Brendan's wife dumped Mary.

Why does Sarah think the whole family should be there to await her arrival

She didn't give a stuff about any of them when Callum was on the scene.
But her mother missing (to buy a pair of slippers) was a massive SOR.

Why are the only realistic romantic relationships on this show Yasmeen with Sharif and David with Kylie?

Yet again the "oh let's assume that whoever is at the door is someone who lives here that has forgotten their key again". Then what a surprise! The person at the door is infact someone who they didn't expect because who forgets their keys?

The budget at corrie must be really tight seeing as they're using these old phones. First Izzy and now Amy, can't they just use their personal phones?

In fairness though tonight's 2nd episode is the best episode that we've had in ages imo. Says a lot about how far the quality of the show has fallen, especially given how we had those awful Michelle scenes (that last scene must be the worst acted scene we've seen on the show for quite some time).

Kids do usually break up on a Friday so the holiday starts on a Monday.

I don't get the question

Well to be fair when Tony duped them out of the pub she didn't have a stable home/job etc. Doing 3 jobs while her hubby who she supported through his issues when she found out is golfing in Spain may be a bit of a reason to have a moan esp if she is missing him.
But we have not seen her struggling at these 3 jobs. All we have seen her do since Steve left is stand in the Rovers flap with her arms folded talking to Carla or following Carla around like a puppy. You never see her at the Cab office and the wedding planning business has only started again within the last week since her old school boyfriend showed up.

He was in Waterloo Road (the PE teacher) and played the Russian husband of one of Mr Selfridges daughters! His face annoys me too 😂
He also played the love interest in a Geri Halliwell video. He was her boss that she fantasised about but I can't remember what the song was called

Apparently not for some schools in real life who did an odd thing of having Good Friday and Easter Monday off, then went back for four days and started the Easter break yesterday.

some schools here had last week back in and are now on easter break until the 18th

whilst some are in the middle of their easter break and are back in school on the 12th

it's all a bit confused this year

anyway, back to Liz, apparently the actress is quite ill and has been written out

Liz has definitely had work done which looks a bit strange.

You would think that the make-up dept could make anyone who wasn't feeling good look normal even if they were ill, but last night the make-up was awful!

I can imagine she is quite difficult to work with so maybe she did the make-up herself.

Oh and here, schools had Good Friday off and then went back to school until the Spring holidays which are fixed as the first two weeks in April whether Easter or not - so yes they broke up yesterday.

Why on Earth would a stag do go to the Rovers?

And Freddie for that matter?
I was expecting Freddie to turn into Clint Eastwood last night when facing up to the drunk lads in the Rovers single handedly punching them all out onto the street.

It looks like Ken and Freddie are to be rivals in the Audrey stakes judging by last night, by the way wasn't last night's two episodes the pits I fast-forwarded the last scene of Michelle and smiling beard-man in the Bistro I couldn't take it any more.

I think that's going to be across the board now from next year, instead of a moving easter foughtnight which makes the spring term easier to plan
