What time was it supposed to be when Sally got back from her "very important" dinner?
It was still broad daylight and Tim said he was going to bed!
Then he went to the pub because it "ages until last orders".
"Ages"? Must be at least 3 hours judging by the daylight.

And wasn't Mary still in the pub? How long had she been in there? Most of the day it seems!

With regard to the current humorous (?) storyline about the chap who is taking his son to Music Club thinking Liz is Amy's mum..... Is it just me, but he looks like he should be (insert fictional son's name here)'s grandad, not his dad! He certainly looks as old as, if not older than, Liz. He also looks like Bill Murray!

And my feelings after wasting an hour of my life tonight watching tonight's episodes ... Oh God Help Me utter utter BULL and it's just becoming harder to sit through. Why when someone is talking about someone or kissing or hugging someone they shouldn't people walk in through doors and catch them every single time in every single scene?.

This once great show desperately needs new people running it with the right ideas and new script writers that know how to write a northern based drama.

It is not really as important as regards the parental age of a child when it comes to the man. Liz as Amy's mother is rather far fetched, but he could be the lads father. My dad was 60 when I was born

It feels as if everyone but Liz is in on the joke.

Is that the idea that Liz will eventually admit she's Amy's grandmother and her new bloke will admit he's the lad's grandfather.

That's a possibility! I see that he could indeed be an older dad (and nothing wrong with that) but currently the story is playing that he's a younger bloke being hoodwinked by an older woman, when in fact they look similar ages, so this might be a good reveal!

It's a Friday night and the Bistro's, seemingly the only place anyone with any connection to the street goes for a mile is empty except for Sally, her Councillor mates and Tim watching?

Not only did Kylie and David not celebrate their wedding anniversary they didn't even appear in the episode?

Caz somehow manages to always be conveniently there when Sawphie and Kt are having their little chats.

I know Sally's a deluded snob but surely even she wouldn't be stupid enough to misrepresent her partner and her own job to someone she'll see regularly?

Robert also mentioned that they were short staffed. If it was a normal Friday night with plenty of customers this might have been an issue but as you say there only appeared to be Sally and her snobby cronies there anyway so no issue.

However you would have thought that Robert would have ensured he had extra cover for a Friday in case it was busy

1. Liz's man-of-the-week storylines = boring!! She acts as if she's over them and wouldn't trust another fella, yet it doesn't take her long to open the bar flap and invite them through the back. She was behaving like a gigglish school girl when Michelle interrogated her. I get Liz has her needs, but why must everything be about men she fancies.

2. Can't wait when Tracy blows her cover.

3. Why does a young go-getter like Sophie need a clipboard to write things down? Surely she'd be using an iPad or tablet.

4. Sophie preyed on a girl at a soup kitchen, cost another their physiotherapy job, and now is playing the homewrecker. Not exactly a saint, is she? Hopefully Caz will knock a few shades off her.

5. Caz would of course walk in and catch Sophie kissing Kate. ¬___¬

6. Why can't Sophie heed Tim's advice and move on?

Tim must have extraordinary powers of hearing to have heard what Sally was saying from where he was standing at the bar.

As for her ringing him and huffing about him not being there, well you'd put your mortgage on him being in t'Rovers so why didn't she say she was going to the loo, and nip over there? It's all of fifty metres away.

That guy is absolutely ancient, surely we're not meant to believe he's younger than liz?

At a pinch maybe liz could have been an older mum to Amy. How old is she meant to be?

Liz could easily be Amy's mother. Amy is what? 12. And Liz is I think supposed to be 55-ish? And could pass for 48 on a good day - she could have had Amy at 38-42.

Not all women in their mid to late 50s could pass for the mother of a 12 year old, but Liz could IMO.

The Rovers was also practically empty on a Friday night! Back in the day, it was full of smoke and folk sitting and standing at the bar. There was always plenty of chat going on. That's how it should have been on a Friday night. The Rovers was silent. Corrie just don't bother with any semblance of reality. Nowhere is buzzing. They only bother with the minimum amount of people in each scene. Do we ever see anyone walking down the street who isn't a main cast member?

I think she could maybe be her mum, I don't think she looks 48 though!

Her being the mum of a 12 year old wouldn't be my first thought I've got to admit.

^^^ Probably and good idea but sod that.

He went through the bar flap. Will he be invited up to Liz's boudoir?

Short staffed on a Friday night eh? Who would have thought it? Except that the Rovers had exactly the same issue last Friday night.

Tis a necessity for the young business entrepreneur. And speaking of Sophie Webster.

She kissed Sian and split her up from Ryan.
She kissed Jenna and lost her her job.
Now she's kissed Kate and split her up from Caz. (Didn't know she is the younger sister of Corinne Bailey Rae)

Really! As soon as she heard about Kate calling off the hen do/wedding she was round to her place damned fast. Sex crazed bitch.

I know. Sophie has no idea why the hen do had been called off but she was like a rat up a drain pipe as she automatically assumed it was something to do with her because she is so irresistible

Good attempt Corrie! Trying to get us to believe that Sophie is a great businesswoman by having her remember what drawers she left some papers in. Surely Kevin could have just looked around a bit but no, he had to ask Sophie so that she could demonstrate just how great of a businesswoman she is. And what happened to Kevin's new business? It was built and we haven't seen it since. And we don't even know what the purpose of it is.

I couldn't believe Sally's lack of table manners, on several occasions speaking with her mouth full of food, once even stuffing in yet another forkful before complaining to Rob about the noise from the back. Sally would never do that, especially while on her endless quest to impress. Unless of course, it was done deliberately to remind us that despite all her airs and graces, she's common as muck. Like we need reminding.

Last night's Corrie was so rubbish I couldn't be bothered to watch the second episode.

1. The lesbian love triangle is pathetic contrived and predictable
2. As someone who does bookkeeping for a garage, the admin person (i.e. Sophie) would be doing paperwork, entering invoices, taking payments, answering the phone. Not just standing around outside ticking things on a clipboard
3. I don't really care if some old guy things Liz is Amy's Mum
4. The once funny Sally is being ruined, and I don't care about her meeting, in - predictably - the bistro
5. I don't care about Tracy doing the washing up.

As others have said, this thread in itself is more entertaining than the show.

So what exactly is the point of Sally being a Councillor/politician is it to cover the real issue that you have to be a liar to succeed as one?
